VOLCANICUS - We've brought you a number of updates from Hascon 2017 over the weekend, but we also still have content being uploaded to server and channels - some of which relates to one of the Hasbro Transformers reveals for the Power of the Primes toyline and its Dinobot return: Volcanicus, the combined form of Swoop, Slug, Sludge, Snarl and Grimlock! The gallery we've uploaded includes a closer look at the grey prototype of the toy, as handled by Hasbro reps and taken by Seibertron at the show.

Top 5 Best Combiner Components (Limbs / Torsos) from Transformers Combiner Wars and Unite Warriors

Top 5 Best Combiner Components (Limbs / Torsos) from Transformers Combiner Wars and Unite Warriors

Top 5 Best Combiner Components - Let's face it, Combiner Wars brought in a new golden era for Transformers fans. The G1 combiners were brought back in a bold new way with toys that were stylish, well articulated and had fun conversions. It kept the nice G1 tradition of Scramble City where you had bigger bots which became torsos (this time with the Combiner head being integrated within the toy rather than an add on) and the smaller bots could become either an arm or a leg to fit to the torso. And you could mix and match them as you please. Not only did we get several of the original G1 combiners but we also got some new characters (hello Alpha Bravo) and new versions of classic characters which could now also combine. With Power of the Primes right around the corner and bringing back the combiner concept and compatibility, I wanted to have a quick look back on the combiner components (limbs and torsos) we got under the Combiner Wars and Unite Warriors line (that latter one is the Takara line where these same toys were released). The way I did it is I broke it down to the different molds used in the lines and separated them by their idiosyncratic body molds. So pretty much I looked at all the different molds, not counting the head, and these are my top 5.
Top 5 Best Transformers Toys with Easy Transformations

Top 5 Best Transformers Toys with Easy Transformations

Easy Transformation TF Toys - While many fans loved the complexity of the Revenge of the Fallen line, parents were not as enthused and eventually, the Age of Extinction Toyline came with a publicized push by Hasbro to simplify the transformation process of Transformers toys. They claimed it was both to bring it back to the brand’s basics and to be more appealing to kids and this idea of toys being simpler has stuck in he current collector landscape. While I love my complex transformations as much as the next fan, I actually thought this was all smoke and no fire. Not simply because complex and articulated Transformers didn’t disappear, and not just because we’ve had one step Transformers since G1’s Twintwist and Topspin, but because I believe easier Transformers can sometimes yield great designs that are just as hard to pull off as more complex transformations. An easy transformation doesn’t necessarily mean that the engineering is lacking and sometimes overcomplicating a transformer can yield terrible results (which is what the majority thinks of Universe Galvatron). All I want to show with this list is that there can be great style and a lot of fun resulting from easy transformations and I wanted to give the best examples of that. My only rule here is that it had to be less than 5 main steps (not including posing) to see the robot mode. This isn't necessarily about simplified toys or one steps, that could be another list of its own. Here, I was looking for awesome toys that you could transform extremely fast that even a young fan with a small attention span would appreciate and marvel at.

Emiliano Santalucia Reveals His Thrilling 30 Rattrap Design Art

Posted September 19th, 2017 at 9:47am by D-Maximus_Prime - 6,383 views

Thanks to his Facebook page, Emiliano Santalucia has revealed to us his design for the Thrilling 30 Rattrap figure, which came out in 2014. The picture he shared is of Rattrap's robot mode, which tries to stick as close to Rattrap's original animated model as it can. However, it can be noted that there were some definite design changes from the original design to the final toy, as seen by the fact that the original design had the back rat feet on the back kibble, which the toy incorporates that - Read More

Several Suppliers Cutting Shipments to Toysrus but Hasbro is NOT One of Them

Posted September 16th, 2017 at 9:46pm by william-james88 - 25,344 views

There has been a development in the Toysrus debt restructuring (and possible bankruptcy) story and it's not a positive one. A Bloomberg article has stated that while Toysrus is seeking a new loan, several retailers are cutting back shipments since if Toysrus does go the bankruptcy route, the vendors may not get paid for their supplies. Suppliers pulled back in part because the cost to insure their shipments to cash-strapped Toys “R” Us has become too expensive, said the people. Vendors - Read More

An article was recently posted on limitlessiq, in chinese, Spotlighting Takara Designer Yuya Onishi. He is one of the younger Takara designers, born in 84, which makes him working in Takara's Transformers brand quite poetic. The article is more about his past, where we learn that he comes from Osaka and went to school to study mechanical designs for cars. However, he ended up designing toys since he felt there was more personal creativity with toy designs. The article reiterates Takara's - Read More
