CinemaCon is one of the biggest events for the movie industry - or rather, the distribution and theater/cinema showings side of it - and it looks like the 2017 edition might bring some more Paramount live-action Transformers footage with it, later this month. According to RedCarpetRefs, the company might have plans to show some footage, though we do not know if this will differ from the two new spots we just saw (here and here). Check out more info below!
On March 28th, events include a presentation highlighting the 2017 release schedule of STX Entertainment, the studio behind The Gift, Bad Moms and the upcoming The Circle. Later that day, Paramount Pictures will host a panel detailing their summer and beyond, with likely appearances by Baywatch and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Via the official YouTube channel for Transformers - or rather its Transformers Family version - we have a Spanish-captioned teaser clip of an upcoming videogame, with some parallels with The Last Knight's imagery for Optimus Prime's optic change and the words 'The fate of the Transformers is in your hands!'.
This could well just be another TLK related game, but may also have something to do with scannable codes in Tiny Turbo Changers packaging, similar to the mobile app for Robots in Disguise. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more!
Muy pronto vais a ser los PROTAGONISTAS de algo muy grande... ¡El destino de Transformers está en vuestras manos!
Very soon, you will become the PROTAGONISTS of something very big...
The fate of the Transformers is in your hands!
Are you ready for some new Transformers Generations rumours? The last list was from a while back so I think we are overdue. These rumours all come from a post on 4 chan so take all of these with a grain of salt and it will be fun to see what pans out. The reason we are newsing this now is because some rumblings from toyfair seem to back part of it up, especially the mention of smaller figures still being a part of the next line.
These rumours mostly concern the last part of the trilogy, Power of the Primes which is due out in stores January 2018, but there is also mention of Titans Return since there will possibly be transition figures like Buzzsaw in Combiner Wars.
Here is the text found above if you have trouble reading it:
Prime Wars next Gimmick is toys to life. Download an App and scan the card that comes with the figure onto your iphone. Play "stages"(it's unkown what type of game it's going to be) using said character.
Titanmasters will be replaced by equally smaller guys. They won't be headmasters but closer to Micromasters that become target masters or weapon platforms.
Legends will still be able to cart the tiny men around
Prime Wars will still be mostly 88-89 crew. Things like Turbomasters will show up from time to time.
All 5 Dinobots will be made as well as the remaining 3 insecticons will appear. Ransack will show up towards the end of TR as will Barrage. Venom will either be Wave 6 of TR or Wave 1 of PW. He's like Buzzsaw in CW where he may not be able to fit into wave 1.
Scorponok will be Next Titan after Trypticon
TR Arcee is just a repaint of TR Loudmouth
Via weibo user AlucardLee, a regular for this sort of news piece, we have what might the render for the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight MPM Masterpiece Optimus Prime, which we've mirrored below for your viewing convenience! A reminder: the Movie Masterpiece figures are new molds meant to replicate the 'best' incarnation of the live action movieverse, and there are three expected with the new film: Optimus, Bumblebee (seen already) and the rumoured Barricade. Check out the image below, and squint with us in the Energon Pub!
Here's a piece of speculation for you all. As you might have noticed, Hasbro had a big presence at the New York Toy Fair this weekend, and brought several reveals for this year's lines of toys, from The Last Knight to Robots in Disguise to Titans Return (all of our coverage can be found here and the related galleries here!) - now, they have tweeted a general thank you message to close off the event, reminding fans that their next stop is Providence, Rhode Island in September 2017, for HASCON.
The odd part? San Diego Comic Con, a staple of the entertainment media industries, is taking place in July. Is the message just a slip of the fingers, or is Hasbro actually not going to be taking part at SDCC? We have no further information at the moment, and this post is merely rumouring and overthinking, but what you do make of the possibility? Do you think we're reading this correctly?
Along with all the Wonderfest news, including the Transformers: The Last Knight line being announced and revealed by Takara Tomy - as reported here - we also have via Snakas blog a piece of news that may otherwise have gone unnoticed: is it possible the next Masterpiece figure, after Optimus Primal and Cheetor, will be Dinobot? (Very probably yes indeed.) Check out the image below, and discuss away in the Energon Pub!
A web series from Russia called Transformers: Portal has been running since September 2016. It has a comic book feel while including animation and sound to tell its story. From what we can see it appears that portals may play a role in integrating the two series for a crossover.
"The creator is Marvelous Group marketing agency, which works with Hasbro on Transformers, Play-Doh, Nerf and other brands." Explains TFW2005 user, Arvegtor. "According to what I know, Hasbro likes it enough to order the next project in a similar format. The project’s website is “transformers-portal.ru”, the official vkontakte page is also a part of the picture (most of the projects before only used the vk page and they can still be found there)."
This video is in Russian but still worth checking out to see some of our favorite characters from Titans Return and Robots in Disguise. Even if you do not speak Russian the artwork is easy to appreciate. Maybe we will get to see this series in other countries sometime soon.
Via fellow Seibertronian Emerje, and the same source as the Transformers: The Last Knight Megatron leaks (though probably not the actual source..), we have what is purported to be the first look at the Hasbro Transformers display at New York Toy Fair!
The image is small, grainy and not entirely useful, though we can see a Grimlock, an Optimus Prime both in robot mode; a truck mode Optimus, and another tank/truck vehicle (perhaps Hound or Onslaught?); a Bumblebee mask on the left; the three headed dragon at the very back. Given the nature of the image, it is very likely that the massive dragon is in fact art or a prop, and not a toy in itself, but feel free to speculate on what might show up this weekend in the Last Knight thread or below!
Yes, we are well aware that there already exists a Tokyo Toy Show Exclusive LG EX Black Convoy, and you can see his gallery here. However, that was the 2015 Tokyo Toy Show Exclusive LG EX Black Convoy and now we have word of a new one for the 2017 Tokyo Toy Show. This news comes to us from an e-mail [Wing_Saber-X] from the TFW boards got from a Malaysian store called Toonshoppe. Here is his mesage followed by the e-mail:
Hello fellow Transfans!
Just thought I'd share exciting news about a possible Tokyo Toy Exclusive Legends Black Convoy listing I received from my local toy supplier. Its supposed to retail at ¥5,600 to be avaliable for release at the end of June 2017. Ive included a screenshot of the email sent as proof.
While we have no images, smart money is on this being Japan's release of the Titans Return Voyager Optimus Prime toy in Black Convoy colours (red, black and teal). As with Armada Megatron, this will probably be the only way to get the Takara version of the mold as Optimus since only Octane would be the wide release of that mold from Takara.
It has been a long time we have heard anything regarding this year's version of the Combiner Wars boxsets like Victorion and the G2 combiners. The rumours are that we are getting two sets this year, with redecos of Titans Return molds with each set having a leader, voyager, 2-3 deluxes and a titan master. This is where Tidal Wave, Nautica, and the clones are supposed to show up. Their contents are still rumours, which will hopefully be confirmed this saturday, but their existence is now fact.
The first Titans Return gift set, the Speed Pack, has been found on a Toysrus computer. We even have the listing, price and code. The set is listed as EX-Generations SRS Pack 1 Speed. The Canadian SKU is 290858 and it is listed at 149.99 CAN, which is the same inflated over compensating exchange rate price the Combiner Wars boxsets. So this also confirms that these Titans Return sets will be the same price point as the Combiner Wars ones, at around $ 100 USD. The fact that this is listed at Pack 1 definitely hints to there being more packs, as rumoured. Do any of you have any idea as to what the SRS might mean? Are you ready for more redecos? Let us know in the comments!
