Gamer Edition is continuing with the expected Starscream repaints and Ironhide. Studio Series 86 looks to be giving us the first four members of the Constructicons in a mix of Voyagers and Deluxes (the rest will surely be coming in 2026), and package refreshes of Grimlock, Perceptor and Jazz. We've also got a few listings for TF:One, Rise of the Beasts and another A Level Optimus Prime.
Full list can be seen below and be sure to discuss it in the Energon Pub forums!

Novakane was in the movie. Interesting. I watch the films, but dont know enough about the Behind the scenes to differentiate. I just figure they wanted to use the mold as many times as possible .
For instance, I have no idea if Novakane from Freezer was planned (like the above Scorponoks) or if Hasbro just wanted to recolor the tiny Terrorcon.

And Shockwave is always welcome.
However, the previous Optimus Prime figures from SS have all been voyager sized, so I wonder how much bigger the leader AoE will be, or if it will be pretty much the same size with more parts.

I'd wager more parts. Let's face it. Of all the Prime versions we've seen, that was the most organic and streamlined. I think having the extra parts may help with accuracy. I'm not expecting a Leader "sized" figure, just an accurate one.

I am hoping and expecting that he will be the same size in robot mode as the others but would have extra engineering to make the transformation work without a lot of kibble.

And Hatchet will return! Too bad we'll have to wait another year, but at least they're coming! It's also a weird coincidence that there was a seven year gap between Crankcase (in 2011) and Crowbar (in 2018), and now there will seemingly be another seven year gap until the last Dread, with Hatchet in 2025.

The MV 6 Bumblebee is curious, I suspect either it is a redo of the Beetle to be more accurate to the film, or a take on the Camaro design (since it has a distinct robot mode to the 07 version).

The previous A Level Prime was listed as TF8 (TF:One) so that's possible, though I wonder what DEV is supposed to mean. Devolved? Developmental? Deviation? Dark Energon Variant? Guess we'll have to wait until next year to find out. If it has nothing to do with TF:One then the first thing that came to mind was Devastation.

DEV for Devastation, as in the game. All cell-shaded and very G1 would be my bet.

If they're doing anything resembling scale then Hook will probably be a pretty long alt mode with proper crane arm and simply too much to fit in a Deluxe package. Long Haul will probably be pretty similar to the Titan version and be extra sturdy to support Devastator and maybe include his forearms and fists. I doubt we'll see full integration of parts this time aside from maybe Devy's head and crotch cover.

Definitely interested in seeing what he'll look like.
I completely missed that legs are also Voyager pricing but I can't believe the torso pieces could be anything bigger like leader class but with the recent triple change anything goes I guess

Assuming they really go for Scale with these Constructicons, I could see them being Deluxe sized, with some combiner kibble.
Maybe Hook will be a Leader or Commander Price Point and include the Head, Forearms, Waist & Thighs, and Chestplate. Sort of similar to how they handled Motormaster recently. If there is a solid piece made just for Devastator's waist and it doesn't need to worry about transforming to form it, Long Haul could just form the Stomach and be his smaller G1 Design and in scale with the others!.

Que at last! We can finally complete the DotM Autobot cast! (we just need Ironhide with new guns to be fully accurate)
Apelinq, thank goodness they are doing him too.
Hatchet finds retail! Thank you! Dreads can finally be complete!
Doublepunch will be nice, I will take repaints of the scorponoks for army building purposes.
AOE Prime will probably be a lot like Shockwave or DotM Megatron, pretty dense to give priority to engineering. Here is hoping they find a way to make that work, I have always loved Knight Prime!

That would sort of explain the changes in the bots during each of the movies, slowing upgrading and making small changes. I mean, obviously, outside of selling new toys...

That's interesting. There's a lot of similarity between the two designs and they're lacking any kibble. I wonder if maybe this is before they actually have the ability to Transform?
Of course, that could just be because of the artist's drawing style.

Obviously the ss86 version will be wildly faithful to how they appeared in TF:TM (which is a plus), but somehow I think the combined mode will be slightly smaller than CW/UW Dev, unless they plan to make the voyagers as big as they were a few yeas ago, considering many modern voyagers are smaller.
Posted by Nemesis Primal on February 21st, 2024 @ 3:32pm CST
Worth noting the lack of Commander and Core listings, though, so there's still potential they'll get me by sneaking out another cassette or something (although if the Commander ends up being some kind of multipack of the remaining Devastator bots & kibble, I imagine some members here might legitimately explode).

2023 - Ultra Magnus
2024 - Optimus Prime
2025 - Rodimus Prime ??
I mean I don't know how you can make the Kingdom Toy more "TF:TM movie accurate", but I'm sure more scrutinizing cinephiles might have thing or two to change. I would think that Re-releases of Kingdom Galvatron & Cyclonus would sneak there way into SS86 as well (since it will have been 4 years by then), but maybe they are saving those for 2026, and the films 40th anniversary?

Oh, please, no! Legacy Galvatron (who's just a cleaned-up and correctly-assembled version of Kingdom Galvatron) is still clogging all the shelves and just won't go away. I want that Hatchet (along with the eventual Swoop & Sandstorm) and I'm "done" collecting TF as "needed must-haves" to complete my list of G1/live action movies collection. After those, I only buy things out of "want." I'm in a kind of burned out mode from collecting more TFs. No shelf space, and I really hate storing toys in boxes. But if the engineering is vastly improved, I'll replace the old ones, like MV4 OP. I want a CW sized Devastator & Predaking to replace the Titans, so I hope SS86 Constructicons follows Legacy Menasor's footsteps. The rest I'm not too excited about.

... I'm not thrilled with the prospect either. However representations of characters in the Main Generations line that appeared in TF:TM over the last 3-4 years that I thought were "good enough", and wouldn't need to appear also in the SS86 line, are apparently doing so... So who knows?
Posted by Sowndwave76 on February 21st, 2024 @ 6:35pm CST
I highly doubt it is a repainted set of the CW figures. In fact, I'll be disappointed if that's the case.
What I'm really interested to hear is the plan for Hook and Long Haul.
I don't think both will be leader class.
Forearms, hands, the chest plate, crotch plate, blaster, possibly upper thighs, and the head... Is all of that $20 worth?
Either way, Hook as an individual figure has to be a triple-changer. And I'm betting each figure will come with a small blaster.
So Hook is a voyager at least.
The same can be said about Long Haul.
So packing in anything extra beyond a weapon pushes them out of voyager class.
I'm hoping that all of the extras come with one of these guys.
Between these figures being released as 2 deluxes, 3 voyagers, and 1 leader, it would be possible for all 6 to land in the same year.
If not that, a year and a half.
AMEN!
I also don't see this set including a CC release. This class should be for single, non-combing characters.
Motormaster was an exception, mainly because there was no way to pull that off with a leader class budget.
One fear I have is that something is going to be sacrificed so that the extra parts for Devastator have some gimmicky use when these guys aren't combined.
I'm not looking past SS86 Swoop already, but man, word about these Constructicons has me excited again about TF.

Well considering the arms are deluxes & the legs are voyagers, that pretty much confirms it cant be a repaint/retool of CW/UW Constructicons. We dont know what Hook or Long Haul will be. One could be a voyager, and the other a leader, or Both small leaders, or large voyagers...

Wow…
This is pretty big news.
First, I’m hoping Galvatron is a tone of Blue-Violet rather than the current Legacy Red-Violet.
And I’m not going to speculate much about Megatron, but I hope Hastak took the logical approach some of us have mentioned by focusing on the bot mode & letting the alt mode be whatever. If it can’t be a pistol, then no one is really going to care much anyway. What would be hilarious is a “hidden gun” alt mode which is actually the real alt mode; but the publicized alt mode being some random configuration.
Either way, they should be able to have a gun mode accessory that is G1 accurate and in-scale with other figures like Starscream and Soundwave.
Man, between these and the Constructicons, ‘25 looks to be a solid year for TF.

If it's scale, then the CW Constructicons are perfect for the line because they scale well with the Dinobots. If it's appearance, then a whole new set of them is most likely.
As for the Kingdom Rodimus being the next CC after Optimus, I hope not. He wouldn't be screen accurate either in transformation or robot size.
I was really hoping we would get an all new CC Astrotrain for SS86. The Siege leader is cheeks.

Super glad to see 86 Megatron, super confused by 86 Galvatron. I'm guessing he's a somehow even more movie accurate repaint, given the Kingdom mold is already pretty much perfect, sculpt-wise. Really hyped for Megatron though, I hope they really put the focus on giving him a near perfect robot mode, even if that makes his alt mode be some half assed bullshit, since he won't have his real alt-mode anyway. Those who are expecting for a secret gun mode, get ready to be disappointed, because there's seriously no way Hasbro will sell a toy that transforms into a realistic gun.

Sad to not see a Bay Commander for sure, but if the SS Commander slot is for a 2 pack with all the accessories, it would be fine. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Longhaul will be a leader, while Hightower (the crane guy) will be a "leader" inside the Commander box with all the combining bits.

86 Galvatron? I mean ... Galvatron is one of my favorite TFs ever so I'll take it, but I gotta ask: why? I have the fixed Kingdom version. It's pretty solid and it has a repack in Earthrise with a clean version already. Maybe this is another repack? If it's the same mold then I'll take a pass.

Problem with doing a Bayverse Commander is convincing one of the suits at Hasbro to let it happen. Ultra Magnus, Prime and some Constructicons is a pretty easy sell, but a nobody like Devcon (who I believe Evan or maybe Mark said they wanted to do) doesn't really stand a chance at that price point when G1 characters have a better chance.

I don't think any fan actually asked for G1ing Prime or Animated designs, though.
What I mean is, there was several versions of Siege Megatron released. I'm glad I hesitated enough to catch the window on the Netflix release. It's paintjob it probably the best. But, even then, the Spoiler Megatron is mostly the same with a new accessory. So, like ... they beat their already great release shortly after it was released.
Galvatron is another example. Misassembled V1 followed by a correct V2 and a clean ER version. I mean ... just get it right the first time. The first time. Not the third time. The first time.
