Greetings Seibertronians!

Prime VS Prime has just posted his video review for the Transformers Generations Selects Reformatted Galvatron.

This special repaint is cast in beautiful transparent purple plastics with the key moving parts being solid opaque. The deco are precise line works in white to simulate when Unicron was reformatting Megatron into Galvatron.

But wait, THERE'S MORE! Also included with this leader, appart the "Revenge guns" and the Matrix-on-a-chain, there's 14 micro figures and 3 mini ships to scale with your HASLAB Unicron (if you have it.) If you don't have that Unicron, at least the micro figures are compatible with the Kingdom titan Ark.

You can watch the video review down below:

So, what do you think of that deco? Are you planning on getting it? Let us know!

Even though I have no use for the HASLAB compatible bonusses, I'm very tempted to get this Galvatron. He's freaking nice! 8-)

I don't think this is supposed to be a Selects release, I believe it's just an exclusive like Ravage, but regardless, the updated Pulsecon page strongly hints this is going up for order then.

It may not be "supposed to", but it is.
Now, if it's an exclusive, I have no idea.

Between the Amazon Australia listing for this thing not saying Selects, and the noted lack of packaging in this review, I feel confident in saying this probably isn't actually a Selects and the reviewer is just saying it is because it's a stolen copy and they don't know how it's releasing people did the same thing with the Centurion Drone and Tricranius, despite the packaging for both of them labeling them as numbered releases within their respective retail lines.

I did a quick Bing search and I got that title but maybe that was a goof.

PvP should have clarified what line the thing is from in his video.

Awww man I totally agree this should NOT be a Selects release but unfortunately it is. :BANG_HEAD: This is the true colors we should get as a Selects damnation....

There's no way he would know what line it is from without the packaging. He really dosen't do much research it seems. Although PvP is resourceful in getting items early, unfortunately it leads to mistakes or sometimes basic toy information being left out as a result. I've heard him make some fairly regular errors when he talks about details from the past, or where these items will be found.

Can't wait for clear Galvatron. It looks like that eHobby set is finally going to be replaced one by one. I mean it's an assumption, but a safe one, I think.

I really like the spaceships and minifigs included with it. Kinda weird, tho. I mean I'm glad we're getting them, but they ought to have come with Unicron.

Anyone else who headcanon Sandstorm as "Earth Mode Sparkles Seeker" and G2 Ramjet as "Earth Mode Hotlink"? :-?

Will likely pick this up just for the micro figures, doesnt really matter that the galvatron is a bit crappy when it's just his creation scene version and even if the RED Galavatrons should be better it wont have the extras.

Also, the Targetmasters matches. This makes the Netflix seekers the Cybertronian equivalent of the Select coneheads pretty obvious in my eyes.

Yeah, I think I'm with you. I have to admit the GalvaTRON (emphasis on Tron!) actually looks pretty damned sweet.

I wonder...when they initially did the figure, did they accidentally make one with this plastic and think "Whoa this looks pretty cool! how can we spin this because we GOTTA make it..."

It seems odd that, if they are in the mood to milk this figure, they haven't released a G1 cartoon version of it that isn't covered in cr@pple-damage paint. The same goes for Springer.

I'm going to cancel my Selects toys color version and get this one.

The extras are nice, but honestly, I like the design of this figure even if it's not accurate to what was seen during the reformatting scene.
That deep purple looks niiiice.
I even like the color of the cannon.

For all you fans of Beast Wars: Uprising, this Reformatted Galvatron could be repurposed as a ghost of Galvatron made entirely of a spectral form of the G-Virus.

I love that canon colour too. Glad your taking the plunge. FOr me, those extras which I really don't need are holding me back.

It's been rumored in the same way that Glyph and Tap-Out have been rumored for the last 3 sets of exclusives: one particular leaker said it once, it hasn't happened, and now they've said it was bad info.

Now, considering we're apparently getting a slightly better painted Arcee for SS86, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Springer repaint in the same vein, but so far no credible evidence towards one.

If reformatted Galvatron glows under black light, it would be tempting. But sadly I've found with Hasbro's translucent plastic doesn't always equate to fluorescence.

Still as Galvatron redecos go, this one looks like it doesn't suck.

I don't see why he would glow under a black light. What works best for black light are certain types of pigments in the paint that might be used.

For instance, MP 01 works beautifully under a black light, thanks to his painted cab.

Maybe he meant glow-in-the-dark plastics? But usually, those are yellow-green white.
I'd love to have a glow-in-the-dark Transformers. This would be so cool!

Good Morning,

I've been collecting miniatures starships for years:

It's my thing, above TF collecting.  When I see something like this that's going to become rare and sell out installantly I'm excited, but also a bit concerned and a little annoyed.  While I know that some people, most people here are going to display the ships with their Unicron, I'll be putting them with my dedicated starship cabinet.

I'd really like to get this, and if anyone has any advice or a line on where I could acquire specifically the ships (with or without the galvatron) I would like to hear about it, and it would be very appreciated.  You'd be making a fast friend.

My ship collection has a whole deciated subsection ships dedicated to the allies of Earth: Star Trek's Federation, Human Ships of Halo, Terran Ships of Starcraft (a bit of a stretch for 'allies'), Macross, Space Above and Beyond, Battlestar Galactica, and Autobots to name a few.  I even have a dedicated cabinet for Star Wars.

Examples for weird or rare things I have:

CC9800 Frigate from the Star Wars Rebellion video game, Saratoga from Space Above and Beyond, Enterprise-E Micro Machine from Star Trek, Protector from Galaxy Quest, Axalon from Beast Wars 10th anniversary Optimus Primal.

So I'm excited for this, but I'm also annoyed  at the way Hasbro has been handling these special items.

So if there's anyone out there that has any ideas, advice or even wants to trade things up I would be up for going into a business agreement.  Also, I have little desire for another Galvatron as the Kingdom one is good enough for my collection, but I would like the ships.  So I'd be cool with sharing the cost of this Galvatron multi-pack with someone just to get the ships.

Please feel free send me a message.

Thanks for Reading

Speculation at this time is that this item will be become available for pre order during Pulse Con this Friday. If you want just the ships, someone here may be willing to make a deal via PM, otherwise probably just checking eBay once it is actually released

I'd suggest buying the set and selling the Galvatron. Mainly due to the timing. As he said, it's probably gonna sell out and be rare.

This works too.
Whichever comes first between getting the whole set yourself then selling the Galvatron, or having an offer for the ships.

Agreed,

So here's 2 examples of how ebay was worth it to me (and appropriate for this topic):

1. Rare Space ship: TIE Scimitar from the "Dark Force Rising" from the Galoob Micro Machine Star Wars set
2. Rare Transformer: X-9 Jaguar "Ravage".

X-9 is probably both an appropriate yet odd choice to mention given the upcoming new Ravage. And I have to say I still like my X-9 a lot and maybe even more then the new one. I have the original G1 '84 Ravage too. It's like, having the new Earthrise Sunstreaker is great, but I'm happy I have the original G1 and the Masterpiece.

That said you're correct, and that it is wise to find multiple retailers, re-sellers, and friends. Back in the day a friend that make his living on selling old toys went against his business sense and sold me the parts I need to complete my G1 Bluestreak. Ebay can get expensive and they haven't been able to break Amazon's business model despite their advantage of being around longer.

It's probably easier to justify with smaller items than larger ones (which the ships and microfigures thankfully are). I was able to find Prime Master variants that came with the Amazon Exclusives, as well as the Battlemasters that came with Siege Amazon Exclusives on eBay for a reasonable price. I was also able to trade or deal for most of the Netflix BM's I needed with fans on this site. so yeah, both resources are great.

I'll add that if something interest you but it's just a wee bit expensive for you, just put it on your watchlist. Odds to get an automated offer are high.

That's a great idea and I've done that in the past on a few various ships.

I've found that if I can get a resin model it's superior to a 3d print. That being said, there's a few items in my shapeways cart I've been sitting on for a while.

So here's an example:
I found someone that makes (or made) Star Wars ships in several different scales. I ended up purchasing the Star Wars Imperial Gunboat (aka "star" fighter) and the Missileboat form the x-wing/tie fighter simulator game series and they are amazing and a perfect fit with my galoob micro machines. At the time I also found some shapeways 3d print E-wings. I ended up getting the E-wings, and I'm while glad I have them, but the plastic quality is weak enough sust such that I'm afraid that I'm going to break them. So if I can find a resin I will take that any day over 3d print. It's a plastic density thing and the good stuff is very expensive.

I could have purchased the e-wing from the more recent X-wing board game, but I haven't wanted to throw extra resources at it. Although I am glad that the game was successful. I purchased the K-wing and Moldy Crown off that game.

Something else needs watched for 3d print, the scale: I made a scale mistake and I once ordered a Delta Flyer from Star Trek voyager and I accidentally ordered the small version. I looks nice next to my larger Voyager ship, but it's so tiny it disappears next to the rest of the star ships. By contrast to that, I have a relatively large Arwing, it was the only size I could find at the time so I just went with it. Both of which stick out in different ways.

Sometimes I get really lucky though. Like I have these Hapes Battle Dragons that look amazing and they are such a vaguely referenced star ship that an official offering is a pipe dream so I'm glad I have them despite the 3d print quality. The size is just perfect and I can live with the plastic quality: I'm just super careful with them.

Anyway, I'll try for this Galvatron later this week. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just wanted to piggyback this thread along with all the upcoming Legacy reveals. Obviously the number of Selects this year (2021) was way down from the previous two years. I hope the line continues however as it has provided many creative variants. Black Zarak is (I believe) the last Selects currently scheduled for release in January (will likely be delayed but...).

I hope the line continues into 2022, but I guess we will see.

I've seen multiple people saying that they don't want the extras for Galvatron.

If anyone wants me to take the extras off their hands send me a pm and we can work something out.

Am I the only one who thinks that head(master) is way too big for the body proportion?

Also, Am I the only one thinking of TRA headmaster?

No, I think it looks little too big, myself.

The first pic doesn't help, but yeah the ratio definitely looks a little off. Scorpy was fine in that regard wasn't he?

It's not perfect, but it's not that egregious either. I think we just had an entire line of TR/Legends where the heads were just a fraction too small we got used to a different proportion
