It's just a sale. They have them for all kinds of Transformers at different times. If this were a sale for combiner wars or generations figures (which they have had before) would you say the same thing? And yes, the one step and three steps sell or else they wouldn't keep designing them.

You're progecting. Because no matter the stores I go, the Generations and 1steps stock sell as much. The one steps sell a lot and I often see Generations stuff pegwarm. Face it, the one-steps are marvelous toys that sell like hotcakes and they are here to stay.

I've seen Tankor and Rattrap at various Walmarts many times. While one step changers came and went.

Looks like someone on Target.com got confused since the image is clearly the AOE 1-Step 6-pack with the special edition Silver Knight Optimus Prime figure while the others are Bumblebee, Grimlock, Lockdown, Drift, and Slug. I'm guessing someone mistook Lockdown, Drift, and Slug for Sideswipe, Steeljaw, and Underbite.chuckdawg1999 wrote:This is the first I've heard of a One-Step Optimus in the RID line

That would be my guess. I see that AoE 6 pack quite often.

The AOE 6 Pack did have some figures that didn't come out yet in it like Slug. The description cannot be an error on Target's part due to what it describes. Not only did the AOE one steps not have scannable stickers it's more likely considering Target doesn't know these characters that they simply used the wrong image for the coupon. The one step Optimus Prime has been teased to us via the RiD app.Sabrblade wrote:Looks like someone on Target.com got confused since the image is clearly the AOE 1-Step 6-pack with the special edition Silver Knight Optimus Prime figure while the others are Bumblebee, Grimlock, Lockdown, Drift, and Slug. Meanwhile, Grimlock's description speaks of "high-performance vehicles racing down the highway".BlueBefore wrote:The AOE 6 Pack did have some figures that didn't come out yet in it like Slug. That's not Grimlock's description, dear. It's the description for the 3 step changer series.Sabrblade wrote:Meanwhile, Grimlock's description speaks of "high-performance vehicles racing down the highway".BlueBefore wrote:The AOE 6 Pack did have some figures that didn't come out yet in it like Slug. I feel when these are gone, they'll be gone. Granted there's still shipping to consider, but BBTS's ladies are essentially retail price. Amiami still has the Reissue Arcee on pre-order as well, and do the math: 2110 Yen = $16.81 USD = $20.90 CAD ect. That's amazing for such a high quality deco, not to mention being imported. So get em while you can folks!

I think the comment about stock with no home going there is pretty accurate.
The best walmart clearance ever for me was at the tail end of last year where Both Predakings were on clearance. The Big Beast fire one from Prime for 25$US and the Platinum G1 reissue for 80$US.
Oh yeah, Target had the Firestarter Predaking on clearance last year too. I want to say for the same amount. I walked away from that guy a few times. I regret it now, but at the time I had no room.
Walmart clearance is amature hour compared to Target. I've gotten so many outrageous deals there. I also got a little crazy on those construct bots last year. I just found the box I stashed them all in. About to start setting them all up.
Masterpiece Skywarp for $19.99, thank you very much.

That's amazing!
I must start checking my local Target from time to time if things like that can happen, lol.

Don't get too excited. That had consequences - here's the short version of what happened:
1) Walmart carries a US release of MP Starscream (the first version), it sells like hotcakes
2) Walmart then decides to carry MP Skywarp, ordering a massive ton of them since Starscream did so well
3) Skywarp sits at Walmart for a year or so en masse
4) Walmart marks them down to insanely low prices to get rid of them
5) A lot of the unsold Skywarps ended up at discount retailers (TJ Maxx et. al.) for even lower, sometimes as low as $6 iirc
6) Masterpiece toys were never carried at US retail by anyone besides Toys R Us ever again

Here's another side effect of ScottyP's a fore mentioned fall out.
1) Cobotron sees MP Thundercracker at TRU for $79.99.
2) Cobotron thinks, oh that will totaly go on sale just like MP Skywarp.
3) Cobotron waits..........no sale. Then gone.
4) Cobotron now has no Thundercracker.

But other than Masterpieces, the Clearance isles, from time to time, can yield some nice treasures.

Don't forget about conversion rates. $25 AUS is less than $20 USD (which isn't that much higher than the $17 most stores have them for.) Plus the extra shipping to that country compared to the US. Doesn't sound that over the top.Rated X wrote:$40 for a voyager? $25 for a deluxe ? Thats a sale ? How much is a pack of gum in Australia? 5 bucks ? Or is this crazy price gouging only done with toys ?
I want to know why the $100 difference on YotG Prime. $199 AUS is about $154 USD. (He normally sells for like $140 in the US) Why does it normally cost $100 extra?!?!
