Not sure if this has been mentioned before but BBTS has the Rainmakers in stock at the moment if anyone wants them. But, for some reason they're $120??? Geez BBTS, that's quite the markup...

Thays because they are just resellers, not getting the product directly from Hasbro.

Since Never? There are several slots along the track and a flip out latchg on his calf that will hook in. There are aso ramps off his thigh that have the connector, but as they are INSIDE the base it doesnt really do any good

Amazing figure though! By no means perfect in either alt mode (though Train wins for me this time) he looks stunning and a great update to the character. I love TR Astrotrain but he isnt all that rememorable.

The single thing I don't like about Siege Leader Astrotrain is the shuttle mode. Especially the part behind the "legs" where there's just "hollow damage" that desperately beg for a panel to cover that mess. I expect Shapeway or someone else to make such a cover. Plus the part could be stored easily in the train wagon, or be used as a shield in bot mode.

Regardless, I LOVE Astrotrain and that leader is fantastic. Especially because it nail the look (despite the shuttle flaw) and it mostly transform like the original G1 toy!

Honesty I'm ok with a weaker shuttle mode, since every astrotrain toy ever has prioritized that mode. It's finally time for the steam loco to shine

I love everything about Astrotrain, except for his price. Jetfire was really my last straw. I am so tired of paying these high ass prices, and then finding them cheaper later. I’m gonna keep a close eye on ‘train sales, so as soon as I see him drop to 30 or lower, I can pounce.

Glad to have that 3 months price warranty with Club R membership at Toys R Us!
This way, I can buy now, not missing out, and possibly STILL save.

I thought the shuttle mode was the weakest part of the G1 and classics toy.

I agree that Classic shuttle sucked because of the two very obvious train parts sticking on both sides. However, G1 Astrotrain had solid vehicle modes, including the shuttle. G1 had a dinky bot with his ridiculous T-Rex arms.
Ah, the eternal law or triple changers where one mode must always be sacrificed.
Is there any official triple changers out there that have ALL of its 3 modes legit perfect?

Oh yeah. That's one. But T-30 Sandstorm have the edge for me. I still have that pretty much perfect toy.

Do Transmetals count with their Transport Modes that are intentionally designed to be vehicular beast modes?-Kanrabat- wrote:Is there any official triple changers out there that have ALL of its 3 modes legit perfect?

I'm just going go ahead and say it; T30 Springer is overrated
Mine had loosey goosey parts and didn't peg well in any mode. Sandstorm is my preferred version and has much better tolerances in all modes, but non of his alt-modes are G1 accurate or real world accurate and the dune buggy is just silly looking. I do find it a fun mold to tinker with and I love the VTOL backpack
I've sent T30 Springer to the isle of unloved toys and wouldn't mind sending Sandstorm there as well if a "better" version was produced.
I scanned around my room a bit and all the triple changers show signs of compromise and I don't think there is anyway around that. Nature of a triple changers I guess.
Siege Springer does a pretty good job of hitting that modern "G1 done better" trick and everything pegs in well. Bot mode and transformation are fun. That's my measuring stick: how well does this evoke G1, is it fun? With that said, I'd toss TR Blitzwing into the ring. Siege Astrotrain seems to also fit my standards.
BTW, define "perfect".

Well that's a tall order. What bar are we measuring against? G1 accuracy, that's a low bar. Real world accuracy, that's a high bar. Personal preference, not even going touch that.-Kanrabat- wrote:Is there any official triple changers out there that have ALL of its 3 modes legit perfect?

I love T30 Springer and all his alts....so there's my choice
I also see his non-G1 accuracy as a feature...

Having said that, I would happily pick up Astrotrain as Shuttle alt modes are my weakness (hence why I hope Takara follows up their redone Armada Prime with a Jetfire...)

In other news, Omega Supreme's backwards compatibility with TR Base Mode toys is not what we expected it to be. He has not one but two different types of connectors in his base mode. The TR-compatible ones are located on the outer circumference of his track pieces, right near the middle of each piece. The rest of his connectors everywhere else are an all new type that cannot work with TR bases.
Here's a pic (from here; it's not mine) that shows where one of the TR-compatible connectors are:

I wish they would have made the cargo car attach over the "open shuttle back" to cover it up and complete that look.
