We had big reveals lately but there's one part I forgot was coming and that is all the listings for the next year which we get at the half year mark. No pictures of course, just listings, but it is the first inkling of figures to come.
While there are a lot of listings to go through, all found through Walmart thanks to fellow Seibertronian JTprime17 and TF fan HyperShauta, I chose Tarn as the one in the header because he is a long time coming. Also, unlike every other listing, this would be the first official transforming toy for this character. The rest of the list has some core class Dinos, Leo Prime from the Japanese Beast Wars, Megatron from Armada, Skyquake from Prime and a lot more, all listed below. Those would be for the second year of the Legacy line.

I really shouldn't get my hopes up, there's probably a good chance it'll just be a low-mid effort retool or a needlessly watered-down version like the Prime figures, but until that happens, this is my most anticipated figure is YEARS.
Hot Shot and Megatron are the only other ones I might be interested in (though I'm glad Needlenose is happening, people have waited long enough for him). But the real tease is that if they're making Armada Megatron, Armada Prime can't be too far behind...
Also, Skyquake will probably be lame.

Kinda underwhelmed by Prime Skyquake, his colors were boring compared to Dreadwing (who I'm sure will also be made), but more than anything I think G1 Skyquake is more fitting of the Leader price point and has Starscream as a potential repaint.
Tarn is fantastic news, but I fear he'll just be a pre-tool of another Megatron and possibly suffer for it.
Needlenose, they said it couldn't be done but the prodigal son finally returns. It's about time! (Now I don't have to separate the Subscription figure to finish out the Double Targetmaster trio.)
I'm guess it'll be Cybertron Hot Shot since there's a lack of blue cars and he'd stand out. Bumblebee fills out the yellow quota just fine and yellow Hot Shots are kinda lame.
Very curious what kind of Leo Prime they give us. Beast Wars II? Modern "Zoid"? Cybertron Leobreaker pre-tool?
Armada Megatron, don't screw this up, Hasbro!
Core Dinobots are interesting, but not sure why they'd want to make some of the biggest Autobots at that size. I guess as the kid budget line it makes sense to do them. I'll probably still end up getting them...
Core Soundblaster is a definite get, love that mold.
Nemesis Primal wrote:I feel like if it was Rodimus Unicronus/SG Rodimus/Dark Hot Rod that would be called out by name, it wouldn't just say Hot Rod, but I could be wrong. My prediction is either that magenta repaint people want (although I think that would make more sense as an SS86 or Buzzworthy Bee release) or an IDW Hot Rod/Rodimus retool in the vein of Blurr (who's listing and box both say nothing about being an IDW design).Razorbeast88 wrote:Since its velocitron hot rod my assumption is thered be a different deco, like a rodimus unicronus considering first velocitron line had black Convoy
We were told the design team wanted to do Hot Rod in magenta for SS86, but higher ups wouldn't let them so the Velocitron line gives them somewhere to put the figure design they already prepared and wanted to do.

Core dinobots? Eh, why not? I'd buy them all so my leader dinos will have their babies!
And Tarn. OOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh BOY!
I always wanted that character, but I never wanted a non-transformable action figure, or a "MP" scaled 3P toy that is worth 200$+. A Generations voyager is what we all waited for at at least, it's not a damn exclusive.

In regards to the reported straight-out-of-the-box yellowing on the grey plastic, mine has none, but I'm keeping him away from direct sunlight just in case it does set in. The batch number of my Motormaster is 21011, I don't know if that's one of the affected batches, I'll have to check that TFW2005 thread again to see.

Dang it, Hasbro, I wanted to get just the ones I thought looked good! Why must you tempt my completionist instincts so?!
...oh wait, massive corporation who wants my money. Right.
I recognise a lot of these designs, even if somewhat changed or simplified, and hope the ones I don't end up showing up in later figures. Particularly that large, boxy cannon on the bottom left.
I will say this again, though: the concept art is still more cohesive and apparent with the Energon theme than the finished result. They didn't even need to all be translucent blue; just make the crystalline parts more obvious, like Core Hot Rod's sword.
Sentinel_Primal wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Agent 53 wrote:They've gotta stop doing this, how many times has a gimmick just ruined a line, Hasbro should focus on just making sure the figures a a good representation of the characters for the price point.
Gimmicks sell well with kids though, look at the UT stuff
Also this isn't really that bad of a gimmick? More weapons pretty much is just an extension of the C.O.M.B.A.T. system from WFC with an Energon flavor
JazZeke wrote:Yeah, aside from Blitzing's silly gloves, the gimmick isn't an intrusive one. It may dip into the plastic budget, but aside from that the toys don't have to be engineered around them like Mini-Cons or combining does.
Seconded. It's not an intrinsic part of the toy, just an additional accessory you can choose to leave aside or even sell without changing the look of the toy. How's that in any way intrusive?
ZeroWolf wrote:I actually like her more than elita. Shame about the lack of a headmaster but did anyone actually expect one? It would have also ment a retool of her alt mode to accommodate a rider. Not the worst redeco/retool out there.
Me, maybe? I'm not that bummed off by it, though; there's other versions of Minerva that aren't Headmasters (like the new Wrecker IDW one, or even the animated Transtector from the end of Masterforce itself), so I can just pretend it's one of those and wait for an actual Minerva Headmaster.

...Skyquake, however, I'm cautious about. The latter Prime characters in Legacy didn't quite look right for me.

Don't worry they will. Remember, this isn't going to be Armada Megatron...this is going to be Geewunized Armada Megatron. Same with Skyquake...the Prime aesthetic was amazing and very accurate to the cartoon in a lot of cases. This will be Geewunized Skyquake...if Bulkhead, Knockout, and Arcee are any indication, I have little faith this won't be a giant clusterf&%k.

But I'm really excited to see Needlenose, Skyquake, and Armada Megs!
I have the subscription service NN, so I'm grateful to get a mold that is actually meant to be Needlenose.
I'm not sure how faithful Skyquake would be but I never object to more jetformers in the Decepticon ranks anyway
And I hope this means we get a GOOD new Armada Megs...even if it also might not be entirely faithful...even if the Combiner Wars one wasn't very faithful and sucked butts. (imo)

The list is based on Walmart listing (hence velocitron ad that's walmarts exclusive line)
Also hasbro never said anything about the length of Legacy

So it's most likely a Hot Rod redeco then? Which Is fine I guess and makes sense financially, I like your Cybertron color suggestion but think it would be better utilized on the Ford GT body. IMO Hot Rod's design should stay unique to him and they seriously need to infuse more body types into the line because I grow tired of everything being a Datsun or Lamborghini variant. lol
That said I suppose they could also reuse Knockout mold but also wouldn't mind seeing a Mustang utilized.
Depending on the mold and deco I may get this one out of them all because it stands to be the only one that might appeal to me.

Wow!…. So many things from there I want.
Hot Shot poses an interesting question. We’ve laready gotten updates to Armada and Cybertron Defense….
Which probably means regular Cyb HR. Which I would be all in for.
Leo Prime very interesting. Retool of Tigatron maybe?
Skywake also on the yes list.
and Armada Megs, hopefully not another retool of Siege Megs.

The last CHUG Armada Hot Shot figure was fourteen years ago, and nowhere near contemporary standards for Generations figures. I would bet that's the design we're getting, and the one I'm hoping for, even though I have the Universe toy.

I don't think there's any reason to assume that. To date, the only core figures in SS86 have been smaller scaled characters, and both Kingdom and Legacy had G1 bots. There are rumors of core Ratchet and Ironhide in that line, but they haven't been seen, and it would be weird for those to be the only scaled down ones.
As for the Deluxe Junkion, it might not even be a movie character, though we do have other deluxe bikes.
Ah any rate, too soon to say, no specific info one way or the other.

Talking about two different figures here. Hot Shot can't be a Hot Rod repaint since he's a Deluxe.
We were told Legacy would be one line, not one year. Next year will probably have a new subtitle (Ev) without actually changing the weapon theme.
The forth figure in wave 1 will probably be a repack from a previous wave.

Highly unlikely since we know that Hasbro are working on the leader class Dinobots still.

Fun thought experiment that some people will hate: since this is still Legacy, what sorts of Energon weapons are some of these guys gonna have? Some initial thoughts of mine:
Core Dinobots: Swords are the most likely accessory here, I would think, maybe combining Energon swords?
Core Soundblaster: presumably no Energon weapon due to being a Soundwave repaint, which is supported by G2 Megatron but refuted by Skywarp. Hmm.
Deluxe "Junkion 1": not a clue without knowing who it is.
Deluxe Needlenose: Umm...Spinister came with guns inspired by his Targetmasters that were just regular guns, maybe that'll happen again? We need to see Pointblank, that'll help.
Deluxe Hot Shot: Considering Eject coming with Blaster, the most likely option here may be an Energon-enhanced Jolt, unless they give him the Star Saber.
Voyager Leo Prime: ...not a clue, not familiar enough with the character to even have a guess. All his weapons are usually integrated flip-out stuff, right?
Voyager Tarn: Please don't be dumb enough to make the twin fusion cannon clear plastic, paint it and/or give him a separate gun to be the Energon one.
Leader Armada Megs: Accessory-wise, Megatron has the options of including Leader-1 (with a gun mode), his shiv, and presumably any of the 3 combined Minicon weapons as one of the few characters that actually wielded them all...and again, considering Eject, any of those could be made Energon.
Leader Prime Skyquake: I'm operating on the assumption that this guy (and his brother we all probably know is coming) has to be a big Voyager that's packing his large gun + a sword and bombs for said brother repaint like how Elita already has Minerva's gun in order to fit as a Leader, so...Energon bombs? Energon sword maybe? I would rather these two have lightsabers instead of regular swords as long as it means their respective BFGs aren't clear plastic again please.
Posted by Emerje on June 26th, 2022 @ 7:37am CDT
It occurred to me recently that they're basically ripping off the gimmick of Robot Masters where everyone was given random extra weapons. Some where clear, some were chromed clear plastic, some where missile launchers.

And if they do include him, do you think they'll pull an Eject and make him partly translucent too? That I wouldn't mind, honestly.

The Transformers toylines made with the intention to sell to kids are always thought of as gimmick first. Been that way since G1 and all the myriad of sublines (action masters, headmasters, micromasters, ect). Intetresting how that spirit has remained the same almost 40 years on.

I do like the included landing strut that helps keep the ship balanced and can be folded down at a 90-degree angle from the main fuselage to form a handle for proper swooshing. Transformation is fun with the dropping hips resulting in a staggered looking ship mode. Shockwave is a fun little figure and a great addition to the Core Class line.

They don't make Leaders that big anymore so I wouldn't worry about that. He'll be a tall Voyager with add on parts (based on Tidal Wave?) or be bulked out like Galvatron (big ol' shoulder treads). He has two easy built in repaints (Galvatron and Megazarak) so he doesn't really need to share anything with anyone else, though I do wonder how people feel about him being used to make an interpretation of IDW Fort Max?
It also occurs to me that Legacy Leader-1 and Drill Bit could share tooling if they choose to make them, might improve their chances of being made.

Oh my god, the Fort Max I would actually buy? You're a genius.Emerje wrote:though I do wonder how people feel about him being used to make an interpretation of IDW Fort Max?

Considering that Motormaster is commander class, I doubt there will be a box set of the Stunticons.Nemesis Destron wrote:I saw a Dragstrip on the pegs yesterday and I said to myself....I said self what if puts out a impressive box set....? Who's to say this WON'T come to pass....?

A) have a go at restoring the one I have by painting over the yellowing parts.
B) swap it out for Legacy Soundwave (has yellwoing plastic ever been reported on the Siege version to anyone's knowledge?)
C) wait to see if the Netflix version becomes available again one day, that new Buzzworthy Bumblebee set with the Volkswageb Beetle mould for Goldbug has renewed my hope for this, as it means Wal-Mart have lost exclusivity for at least one retool and could also lose Soundwave soon.
or D) hang fire and wait to see if Hasbro brings out a new Soundwave without the Netflix version's problems.

It's a 50/50 shot, but with it's potentially high price the venue and production number will be very limited, I can assure you.
