25th Anniversary G1 Optimus Prime reissue for $34.99 at Toysrus.com

We'd like to thank Seibertron.com members DecepticonKing86 and Grahf for giving us the heads-up on yet another great Transformers related sale.

This time around, Toysrus.com is offering up the 25th Anniversary G1 Optimus Prime reissue for just $34.99, about half off the original price. To refresh everyone, this is the domestic reissue that came courtesy of Hasbro and features a DVD of the original 3 part Sunbow cartoon miniseries and a reprint of the Marvel Comics Transformers Issue #1. In most ways, this edition is almost exactly the same as the original toy from 1984, with the major differences being it having shorter smokestacks due to new safety laws and some slight color variatons.

Grahf has mentioned he has found this in-store at this price as well so you might want to check it out in person to see if your store has them available.

TRU has been having tons of sales ever since Black Friday. It seems they will continue to have these sales every weekend until Xmas, so visit their website every 3-4 days or so, I'm pretty sure something else will be on sale next week, legends class maybe???

My G1 Prime is still in great shape. I remember saving up for MONTHS to buy that guy. Once I had him, I was always very careful to play with him. I was a little disappointed, however, when I opened him up for the first time and noticed his gun barrel was thinner than the gun barrel on the primes my friends had. The thicker barrel seemed more toon accurate. Also, my roller was blue (everyone else had gray) and did not shoot out very far. I remember taking the trailer apart and noticing a plastic stub had been placed in the middle of the track of the roller catapult. It seemed so stupid to me to artificially cripple the toy this way. Anyway, I fixed it and roller would shoot out far. Did anyone else's G1 prime have this issue? What about this reissue?

Unfortunately me being like 6 years old back then, all I remember was the trailer and next thing you know, it's gone. Don't have many memories playing with anything other than the convoy. Haven't play with the trailer for the re-issue, but the Roller is gray.
