So, they only looked at the G1 cartoon and the Live-action Movie media for Cybertron design?
What about the appearances of Cybertron in series where it's featured more heavily, like Beast Machines, Armada, Energon, or even Cybertron (for crying out loud, it's the series name!).

I didn't hear mention of the live-action film at all there. They said the original animated movie, I think.
Those are good places to start, although, yeah, there has been more of Cybertron seen over the years in other continuities. I'd like to see them working a lot of the War Within comic designs as well as some of the stuff we've seen in the flashbacks in IDW's books.
I was getting a bit of a Bayformers vibe from some of the pics, but the Allspark Cube was one of the more interesting designs in that film, so if they go that way for this, it might not be all bad.

I felt the same. G1 really has no real information of views of Cybertron, glimpses mostly. If they referenced mostly G1 then they didn't do their research well enough. Cybertron has been seen a lot in comics, and several of the latter series.
But, from what I've seen of Cybertron in the game, it looks about right. I hope it live's up though. We know Cybertron better then they think we know Cybertron.

I like what they're doing with this. It feels like a new chapter. I noticed a lot of the comments about cybertron mentioned that there are a lot of other source material to draw from.
While you are all right about that, do you really want them using the overly bland planetary designs from BM or the AEC trilogy? At least in G1 there were some things that were noticeable, like Wheeljacks lab, Iacon, Energon wear houses, warp bridges, landing strips, and then some. Now that's not to say that some of the others didn't have memorable landscape, but more often then not it was very plain. For example, all those stupid defense grid towers from energon I can do with out, but the Omega Train or the Energon pit, those were good designs and good ideas for stages and areas.
I'd love to see a Smelting Pit/Pool (looks like they did that anyways... niiiiiiiiiiiiice) Gladiator Pits, Maybe something along the clean long tracks from the Spotlight Blurr comic. I mean, there's a shitton of reference material out there, but if Activision and High Moon want to put there own spin on this and really make it pop I'm all for fully supporting this project on my end.
