BBTS Brave Gokin Combat Caliber Pre-Order

Posted by Tigertrack Oct 28, 2008 at 8:22pm CDT 18,935 views
BigBadToyStore.com, site sponsor and toy warehouse for many collectors, now has a pre-order up for the Brave Gokin Combat Caliber. I know you are probably wondering why we would list this and why you should care.

It just so happens that the original version of this toy is what was to be licensed by Hasbro and released as fan-favorite Wrecker member, Roadbuster.

You can see the pre-order page here showing off this new version of an old favorite. While it's not an official Transformer release, you can see how it would hold a certain interest to the TF collecting community.

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

the yen price is 23,800 so that price is about right for it.
Unlike he original this is a truely high end limited collectable.

I am sorely tempted to order it from hlj

Thats one expensive figure!

I realize that it is a limited run from a small company, but wow!

You do realize that this will cost well over $200.00 anywhere you buy it right?

If you want more/bigger pix, there's a complete set here.

For what it's worth, that's a pretty standard price for a Brave Gokin toy. It's actually not a limited production, and CM's Corp isn't exactly small. (They're not Hasbro or Bandai or T-T big, either, but you know what I mean.) If you're into Dorvack stuff, they're expected to make his companion mecha, the Tulcas and Gazzette as well. (Yay.)

I really like the look, but... wow... that's too rich for my blood.
$280 is 1 Masterpiece Megatron, 1 scope/stock/silencer upgrade set for said MP Megs, and 1 Masterpiece Grimlock.
Alternatively, that's MP Grimlock, G1 Grimlock, WST Grimlock, and Classics Grimlock - all MIB.
I think I'll pass...

Gee..ya'll think they may have priced themselves right out of the market?

Umm, yeah...no.

100 bucks and I'd consider it. But for 280, =;

Roadbuster. It kinda brings back memories. He was never one of my favorites since he wasn't in the cartoon. This thread made me bring him out and Transform him for the first time in a very very long time!

Yeah, that's a really nice looking piece. It's not $300 worth of nice though. I'd rather get a minty G1 piece for much less than that.

at half the price I would buy him in a heartbeat. Its a realy nice looking fig and I love the Gundamesque power armor. But at nearly 300. Prolly not gonna be on my shelf.

i'd even consider getting him at 180. At 280...dream on.

Heh. You could most likely buy a G1 original, complete for half that and maybe even cheaper.

Depends on the market you mean. The US Transfan market? Yeah. But it's normal-ish pricing for that product line and the market they serve.

FWIW -- A CM's Corp guy who hangs out on 2ch says they may sell a version without the combat armor next year. That'll presumably be cheaper. They got the license for all Dorvack properties, so that makes it even more likely they'll do Gazette ("Whirl") and Tulcas (which was never a TF, I guess).

G1 Roadbuster is a favorite of mine, I loved my Mugen Caliber figure as a kid too.

Echoing everybody else's sentiments though, great looking figure, but that price is crazy.

I want that so bad, but way to expensive. Now if he was actually the size of MP Prime with all the extras I could see the price. But even the SoC figures at that size class go for less then half that. Hell, I got God Mars and Ideon both for less.

The pricing is the main reason i don't own any CM Corp figures. Still trying to find a decently priced GoShogun.

i really liked roadbuster as a kid. i thought of him as kind of a special missions kind of guy. didnt say in his bio he was a field commander or something? i liked how he had a military style body when most of the oher autobots that size were civilian type vehicles. very cool back then. you put this new figure in roadbuster color scheme and a 280 dollar pricetagwont deter me :)
