BOTCON 2013 Registration Update - Non-Attending Allotment Sold Out

Posted by Va'al Apr 22, 2013 at 3:45pm CDT 17,304 views
The people over at BotCon have an announcement to make about registration: all non-attending packages have now been sold out - but there is more below! Make sure you check back in a couple of days for confirmation, and, obviously, register now to attend the big summer event in San Diego!

Re: BOTCON 2013 registration now open!

Hello BotCon fans!

We have run through our allotment of Iacon (non-attending sets) and are considering moving some of the Primus attending sets over to Iacon non-attending.

However, we don't want to do this until we are confident that everyone has registered that intends on coming to San Diego. So, we will re-visit the numbers in the next few days and make a decision as how to assist those who can't come but want the figure sets.

If you are coming, make sure to register VERY soon for BotCon 2013 today!

See you in San Diego!

Brian

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

Why can't BotCon be on the east coast....... Anyways can't wait to go despite traipsing across the country.

In reply, I hope they can keep moving it around. Flying is so expensive today, having the con centrally located, or at least moving around, helps make it possible for a LOT of people.

Yeah, and the early announcement of San Diego made it possible to plan out the trip ahead of time. Hopefully the Club follows this up next year by announcing the site five months ahead of time.

Agreed! Earlier is way better. (Given, I know they do what they can. Often, convention centers are booked up to ten YEARS in advance. I don't envy the Botcon planners at all.)

I skipped the set (as always so far) as I'm only interested in 2 of the figures. It's not worth the price of the entire non-attendee package just to get the 2 I actually want. I'll wait until the individual bots start hitting ebay after the show and if the price is reasonable, I'll snatch em' up then, otherwise I can do without them.

I'd be interested if FunPub held it on the east coast once in a while.

2006, 2007, and 2010 were on the East Coast.

And in the pre-Fun Pub years, 2001 was as well.

Someone (with time and energy) should list out where each con has been since it started. Including that one year when there was two cons. Maybe I'll throw a map together of locations. Heh.

TFWiki has all the dates and locations noted on their BotCon pages. ;)

I am hoping they don't convert all the sets to Iacon. I still would like to go but probably won't know for a few weeks whether that is feasible due to some other issues going on right now.

They just did.

Just got this message from the Club:

Hello all,

We have now moved an allotment of attending BotCon sets to the non-attending Iacon category. If you have been waiting, you can now go and order your Iacon set use the registration link at BotCon!

I hate to say it but it looks like this year's membership figure won't ship until after BotCon as they are coming with the FSS figures. These have now shipped from the manufacturer and are at the packaging vendor.

Those of you in the FSS program should have received an email earlier today. We want everyone to know that the delay for both of these items has been with the manufacturer. Hopefully the process has been fixed on their side so that in future versions, they will make the agreed upon ship dates.

We apologize for for the lack of communication on our part. It has been very difficult for us to get information to pass on about both of these projects.

However, I do want to let you know that there will be carded version of Depth Charge you will be able to order once they arrive. We plan to have some available at BotCon. The bulk of the carded figures will be left in Fort Worth for the membership to order. In addition, since this is a club figure and NOT a BotCon figure, the Golden Ticket additional limits to not count for this item.

See you in San Diego!

Could they ever just man up and admit any wrongdoing? Geez.

So they're going to start selling some of the Depth Charges at Botcon, before any member has actually received their "freebie"? Could end up being a bigger mess than when they started selling Sideburn before everyone received theirs...

I had forgotten all about that fiasco. Wow. You have a good memory, because I certainly didn't even think about it. What with ALL of their fiascos...

At least those of us who were supposed to get Side Burn did eventually get him, IIRC. In my case, I've never not received anything I've ordered or earned from the TCC.

I'm waiting for them to spring up something else that everyone loves that they're going to ban when it's too late to cancel tickets and hotel rooms.
