And yes, no matter how I feel about Beast Machines, I seriously love Marty for Animated. Just as Dille and Wise each wrote some of the best and worst G1 eps, so it should be that the same man helped guide both the best and worst TF series.
(And before anyone tells me I have the quality of the two series backwards, that just reinforces the broader point
)

Thinking about it, the person or persons responsible for thinking up each year's theme for BotCon isn't something that we usually learn. So, while we know of each year's theme, there typically isn't a name attached to those who come up with each one. meaning we can't go pointing fingers at whoever conceived this year's "Pirates Vs Knights" theme.

I liked the idea of the theme, and I'm liking 3 of the 4 toys we've been told about so far. (Albino Ferak, not so much) so I'd be quite happy to know who to congratulate.

Ok, when are we going to get the final reveal? I know not everyone's jumping for it since the centerpiece has already been spoiled, but I certainly am!

Devcon and Scorponok are G1 characters. They have nothing to do with knights and pirates unless some bonehead decides to make them into knights and pirates. I know im in the minority, but I wish Funpub would do away with "themes" altogether. Just give us awesome classics filler sets from different continuities. Theme ??? We dont need no stinkin theme !!!

I wish funpub would just quit making toys altogether. It really detracts from the themes and long-line experience they sell us every year.

i could care less what the theme is. its bringing us some great toys.
if next years theme was "unicorns vs kittens" and gave us awesome toys, id still buy them.

I'm gonna give them some props here - the lines run more smoothly each and every year, with a possible exception in 2012 because their card readers went fubar on the first day for the club store. They've really come a long way since the horrible line debacle that was 2009.
