I have been trying to preorder this thing but TFSource says my zipcode is invalid. That can't be true because I ordered Universe Grapple from them this very morning using the exact same payment information!!!!

Is anyone else having a problem preodering this thing??

I was having that problem too but I forgot I wanted to add the Kup head to my order. Once I did that, I had no issue. I can imagine you guys don't want to have to buy an extra item though. Also, shouldn't I get the news cred for this or at least shared credit?

I have faith in Venksta. I'm sure Cliffjumper will be able to tow any included weapons (transformable cannon would be epic) on the bot mode jetpack/alt mode wavecrusher. In line with all the other stuff Venksta does, the head will be classictastic. On topic: Not bad for an initial product. Really just wish it came in a plastic bag and cost 15.00 - honestly, $20+ and shipping on top of that... so really - $30 for a three piece (two small one medium) add-on kit for a deluxe? Kinda steep, Devildood...

I hope Hasbro just reissues cliffjumper without the stupid white graphics and the WFC head so people dont even have to deal with this drama.

Also, dont you hate these little b***hes who triple the price of a retail item when a 3rd party accessory comes out ??? I like to take the person who invented that idea and slap him in the face. STRAIGHT UP.

Why would I by this? For the head mold, which is about it. His guns are that dull toned grey and are so unapealing. At least the Fansproject's had nice black guns, a spoiler to differentiate Cliff and Bumblebee's alt modes, and a nice head mold. So who would pick this set over Fansproject's?

Your arguments are dead on. I would submit that it's more about availability and price than anything else. We must also remember that the FansProject 300 limited run was a garage kit made out of hardened resin opposed to plastic (not to mention one must superglue the alt mode kit parts to the figure). I would prefer those kind of parts like the spoiler and front accent kit to be snap on - allowing for resale/trade of the original figure. I think Renderform's Venksta might be on to this - not to mention a few extras that might follow the engineering gimmicks of other transforming toy add-on manufacturers. I buy transforming 3rd party add-ons at a premium price because they are inspired by the facet of the transforming gimmick. Artwork on packaging and insert trays are nice, but if it tacks on an extra 5 bucks and possibly more on the shipping - I'd prefer cheaper packaging and lower shipping rates. This Devil Horns Kit is great for those wanting a minor upgrade to the Cliffjumper character in the classics aesthetic. I would prefer at least some kind of transformation in the weapons, if I'm dropping more than $20 on a few pieces of plastic. This is what makes/made FansProject's Sidearm so successful - price, aesthetic, and gimmick.

FPs set for $300 or so vs. this set for about $20? Count me as one that would choose the latter. All things being equal? Sure, gimme the FP set...but that's not really an option at this point.

I agree. Though some of us should go together, group buy the FP set and repro it for cheap prices. We'd make our investment back, and fast.

It's been repro'd to ill effect. It looks like carved Velveeta. Honestly, after doing some info searches and reading reviews of the FansProject kit, I was disappointed but relieved by what I read. Apparently, the paint can be pretty fragile. This new one looks like molded plastic rather than paint. Sure, I'd like some of the other upgrade bits from the FP set too but this one will certainly work for me at this cost. I really only require the new head, so this works. The weapons are a nice bonus despite my wish that they were black.

I am a proud owner of the FP Cliffjumper kit. It is not the same quality that we are used to from City Commander and up. That said it is a pretty unique piece and I am very glad to have it.

This kit is a more than serviceable upgrade to Cliffjumper. It looks to be of quite good quality, and does it's job of differentiating CJ from BB. And I would not at all be hesitant to hit those guns with a quick coat of a good quality black spray paint. This appears to be a great alternative for those without the $300 for the FP kit, and no shame in having this as opposed to the FP one.

What would be the best paint to use in reproing the guns? I'm definitely getting this set.

If I could afford the FP kit, I would so get it. Was $300 the original price for it?

I would think that krylon fusion would work well. The FP kit was originally $30 through TFclub. The problem was that most people on these forums can't read the site so it was difficult to order. The price seemed to go up by $10 a week for a while. By the time I figured out how to get one it was up to $90. It continued to go up for another couple weeks and then sold out.
