Description and Depiction of Upcoming Transformers Legacy Jhiaxus and Knockout

We know you like having as much info as possible about upcoming toys and so while this isn't much, we wanted to share it with you. Firstly, the latest Transformers comics no have Prime Knockout in them. Here, the artist depicts him with the body of his upcoming toy which is a retool of SS86 Jazz. It gives us our best look yet at the toy and how we are getting a G1 version of Prime Knockout.

We also have a description of the upcoming voyager Jhiaxus:

Bot mode pretty great, even has the batwings on his ankles.
Alt-mode, ok but a little ropey due to the arms kind of hanging underneath the jet as a big block that sticks out.
Nice dual blaster that can separate into two smaller blasters.

You'll notice the forum it originated on didn't post this, the person wants no way to trace it back to them. And now I have to edit your comment to remove the source, same for the others following it.

Makes me not want to bother with posting this stuff anymore. If ever you have questions about the news and how it's handled here, please send us a message by using the contact option atop this site. This is for anyone, the thread is only for discussion of the actual subject, not how the news is presented.

Through the roundtable where Blaster was revealed, the following was said regarding Legacy (this is paraphrased word-of-mouth, some of this may not be 100%):
-Menasor will not be Scramble City compatible with older combiner systems, compared to Devastator
-Wave 1 is anticipated to hit in April, the preorders had later dates to give built-in buffer time
-Team is aware of the Armada anniversary and says doing the multiverse without it would be blasphemy
-Bulkhead is on the extreme end of what to expect in terms of how non-G1 characters will be updated

They didn't provide the most important information about Jhiaxus: will he be yellow or orange? :-D

Here's Blaster who will also be in legacy. This toy is also less streamlined/smooth than the G1 cartoon, as Menasor is said to be. Is anyone turned off by that?

I'll leave the "toon streamlining" to the super expensive MP line and MP-like 3P figures.
I'll take my GENERATIONS figures with all the extra details and gribbles that are now "inacceptable" for the "premium" lines.

Nope!

This long awaited Blaster looks great so far... Even Eject looks far better than what they did with Rumble and Frenzy in the WFC Trilogy.

Nope. Well, "nope" for me, anyway.

Finally, something we agree on. As I look up at my MP13, various MP10s and another few select MPs, I like a bit of detail like panel lining and paint-apps even if they ain't accurate. To me, a lot of 'clean' figures just don't look as high-effort or high-budget and would look barebones next to my other figures.

Even the recent Beast Wars releases. Ignoring the callback to the textures on the 90's figures, the smoothness of the animation models or the more realistic Beast modes, they would look and feel incredibly cheap without the fur, hide and skin effects.

"Bot mode pretty great, even has the batwings on his ankles."

My anticipation for this reveal is so high that it verges on dread. This seems to confirm that this will indeed be a G2 Jhiaxus, dialing my hype up, but I'm so, so terrified it's going to wind up being freaking orange or something again.

I'm assuming the trailer of Motormaster will be somewhat bigger than Earthrise Prime's trailer, much denser since it has to form a skeleton.

ER Optimus's trailer is a dinky thing. A fairer comparison would be with Kingdom Commander Rodimus Prime. Same overall size I guess.

I really like the look of Blaster. Very happy with that design overall.
I wish the ports on the forearms and shoulders weren't there, but hopefully someone will make a filler set for those.
Overall
Eject is fine, nothing great, but pretty good.

Bring on photos of Motormaster!!!

Thoughts on reveals a week later because I've been ridiculously busy trying to get stuff ready for winter outside...

Arcee: She's OK. Between her and Bulkhead she's the more successful translation to G1, though she's awfully "blocky". Not a big fan of her entire front wheel section turning into, what, a drone? Feels like she's being cheated out of an actual weapon.

Dragstrip: I like him, from the front anyway. His back is awfully flat which I assume has to be due to the way he combines with Motormaster. Funny how they're pushing energon weapons as the big unifying thing in this line and wave 1 already gives us a figure without one. Alt mode is nice, though the front scoop looks like it belongs on a tractor.

Kickback: Perfect, they even put a little thing to cover his face in hopper mode. Trying to figure out what's going on with his chest. It looks like it can open, there's a hinge at the bottom, but it also looks like it's locked in place by the sides of his torso. I like that the back feet are ball jointed for no real reason, probably helps them fold into the leg. So far he's got the best energon weapons.

Skids: I think he looks fine, maybe better than the T30 version. He's very compact, look at how big his hips look in the front windows. I think he'll be a fun figure to mess with.

Bulkhead: Definitely not the best use for this mold for sure. It reminds me of when Botcon did a displaced movie Megatron out of RID Breakdown in 2015.

Laser Optimus Prime: :x Perfect! I love that all the cues of the original are there. They even turned his flying discs into an axe. I don't get the complaints about his trailer being too small, it looks proportionally the same size as the original's. The visible Matrix in the chest makes him look a little more like the 2006 reissue. Can't wait for this to be repainted into Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus/2006 e-Hobby Laser UM. :)

Blaster: I like it, no problems here. It looks more like my idea Blaster than Netflix Soundwave looks like my ideal Soundwave. Even Eject looks good despite my dislike for clear plastic figures. Makes me wonder if we could see SG Solorbot.

The Stunticons all have remarkably flat backs on the show, so I didn't even think twice about that.

His guns are 'energon infused' aka cthru plastice with some paint on them. No excuses given as to why he is part bulldozer/tractor/F1 tho.

Look like solid black with some purple paint to me.

I'd really like to see Bulkhead's alt mode without the canopy on.

I've got a prediction. If what we do get is a reissue of Netflix Soundwave as the Voyager Class "Soundwave PR" listing in Legacy, it'll come with a clear blue plastic Rumble/Frenzy to be his "Energon Weapon." In Studio Series 86, maybe the Core Class Rumble listing will turn out to be a two-pack of "Legacy Rumble/Frenzy" in solid plastic with the traditional Blue/Violet and Red/Black color schemes. We might even get a two-pack of similarly colored Rewind and Eject, as well Steeljaw and Ramhorn, to fill out Blaster's G1 cassette roster. I would rather Soundwave come with traditional G1 toy pack-it of Buzzsaw, as we haven't gotten one at all during the War for Cybertron Trilogy, but all of the Energon Weapons so far seem to be the same clear blue plastic, so actually using the "blue cassette" for Soundwave seems much more likely at this point.

As long as it's Buzzsaw, I love the ideas.
