ER EX-20 Paradron Medics
ER EX-21 Bluestreak
ER EX-22 Deluxe Centurion Drone
ER Set (EX-20-22)
All are TakaraTomy Mall exclusives. The ER Set is a bundle of the first three.
Of note is that the Centurion Drone has been renamed "Deluxe Centurion Drone". Yes, the "Deluxe" part is in its name and is not in reference to its size class.
It's also been given a small character description that states it to be "A drone soldier who protects Cybertron's supercomputer vector Sigma." This is based more on the cartoon Centurion Drones rather than the IDW ones that the toy is actually based on.

Places like TFSource or BBTS will just let you know there's a delay and move on, big box stores don't really understand delays and have been fumbling these pandemic delays pretty badly. Walmart isn't much better with entire orders getting canceled or infinitely stuck in their order system on the way to the fulfillment warehouse.
Ok, glad I asked, and glad I only pre-ordered Cheetor from Target. Might do other figures elsewhere.

There's still no official word on it. There's still no official word on the US release, a guy just found him in Walgreens.
If that's how it has worked in previous years, there's little reason to think it will change, but no one can truly answer your question as yet.

Hmmmm......
So far, all Walgreen exclusives have been E.B. Games exclusives. Maybe except for TR Brainstorm.

I think in this case they're using deluxe to mean "premium" to show it's more than just a figure unless they start calling him "Deluxe Centurion Drone" in comics or something.

To expand on the "name", they will be part of the Studio Series line under the excuse that since it focuses on movies, the 1986 movie is fair game.

Don't expect anything special: they will be regular Generations-style figures (with some 5mm ports removed), just hastily shuffled under a similar but different line. Hasbro has done it before with the Reveal the Shield part of the 2010 line, which was technically a Live Action Movie line.

Were that they case, they'd use a certain kanji to denote it as such. If I had to guess, they're probably using the name to explain why this Centurion Drone doesn't resemble these Centurion Drones seen below when it's supposed to be one of them in Japanese continuity:

Scourge has two unnecessary ports on the sides of his forearms and two on the sides of his lower legs down by his ankles, one on the bottom of each foot as well as one on his back. You might also be able to maneuver his backpack in such a way as to utilize the two side ports he had in vehicle mode.
Kup is lacking by comparison with only one under each foot. However, both of his arms as well as his legs can separate at the bicep/thigh swivels similar to a Weaponizer. So you can add pieces in between his arms and legs to wacky effects.
Hot Rod has one port under each foot and a pair of ports on the backs of his legs. He also has a 5mm peg on his left hand if you put his hand away back into the forearm.

Having to wait on Amazon for Prowl; I still haven't seen Smokescreen so am having to wait over another month for Amazon to deliver, and now Bluestreak is going to take x number of trips to Walgreens to find...
In the grand scheme, I get it, not any sort of deal... Just surprising it's come to this just to get a few toys.

Snapdragon next to Apeface. I'll take beast and jet mode pics when I have a better setup for it.
I'm "eh" on Bluestreak. I wonder how hard it would be to pry out the headlights to replace them with proper Datsun ones, and get rid of the unsightly intake on the hood.

Which means you got the two pack with Ironhide, right? How do you feel about that? I kinda want Prowl but not Ironhide so much, so them coming together (and costing more for it) isn't too appealing for me. I'm kinda confused as to why they did the two figures like this anyway...? I guess it's supposed to be because they aren't exactly a part of the "main" Earthrise toyline...or something...? I'm confused.

Yeah, I went with the two pack... First, I'm a big fan of the Datsun bro mold of the ER line... While I have loved the Universe mold used for them for a long time now, I think this new one is better in some ways; the proportions are better, as well as the head sculpts.
I also like the ER Ironhide mold, at least for the robot mode. As always, yeah, it could be a bit better. But a little while back I started posting this thought--
I think the next time we get some of these characters in a regular line, there will be another gimmick of some sort which shifts the aesthetic away from the classic G1 stylings...
Of course I could be wrong... In some ways I'm hoping Hastak takes a cue from the SS86 line, and goes with a line that is completely gimmick-free and gives us the most animation accurate figures possible. I don't see that happening, but what do I know?
Some would say that's the role of the MP line now, but I can't agree completely, when the cost of those figures is 10X higher.
So part of this thought is that some (definitely not all) of the characters we're getting in ER & Kingdom may be some of the best we get for a long, long, long time.
Again, I could be completely off in this thinking...
But now that we're getting some really solid G1-looking characters, it's difficult for me to believe that it'll be sooner than later that we'll get them again.
And for me personally, will I still be collecting 3-5 years from now??? Maybe, but I'm really pretty happy with what I currently have.
I wouldn't doubt if after the ER and SS86 lines I take another lengthy collecting hiatus.
My advice would be to get the two pack...
You could probably sell Ironhide if you really end up not liking him.
If you're okay with getting $20 for him, I'd feel pretty confident that someone would buy him for that price. Then you've spent $20 on Prowl like you would for any other deluxe.

This is kinda what I've been thinking. If this is the case it could end up being an exciting toyline or something really off-putting.

Right right. I think it's hard to make a decision to buy something that I know I'll be turning around and selling as soon as I open the box. But then again, there could be someone out there who wants Ironhide and not Prowl, kind of like I want Prowl and not Ironhide. Ehhh I'll just have to think on it some more.

Don't think it's been out for that short a time. ...I had an ugly thought: That clearance stickers can't mark down stuff independently of the computer after all. Which would definitely explain the problem with Shockwave. Because they certainly don't want to mark down the shiny new Earthrise Leaders.
I'll have to see if writing to Target can get me a definitive answer.

I realize that my experience at the grocery store is a far cry from this and the reason things got discounted there was because they were close to expiration or non perishable goods out of season, but it's possible to mark down products individually. The computer knows what the markdown price for everything is, it's just stored on a separate barcode. Food for thought.

It also has 3 Sky Lynx toys, which is awesome. Sky Lynx is such a good toy.
I think after messing around some Scorp may have dropped a bit on my favorite Earthrise toys. He hasn't proven as playable as I would have thought when first messing with him, he's definitely not as fun as Sky Lynx or Doubledealer, and I think I enjoy Cliffjumper far more than him too.

This is exactly right. The clearance stickers do not have their own bar codes, so their register/inventory system knows the correct discounted price. The only thing the stickers do is signal to customers that they're on sale. You can also use their price checker terminals to confirm sale prices for the same reason.

I saw the clones Twice, one time I happened to be at a way out-of-the way Target in an sparsely populated area, and saw 4 of them on the shelf, I'm sure some scalper eventually got them. I saw the Villains pack once, at my local Target, and that's it. I saw the micromaster 10 pack and Rainmakers maybe 2 times last year. They sell quickly though, certainly not enough time for clearance at least in any stores in my area. The only clearance TF I've seen is of course the MP Movie Starscream, which is a whole other cluster I've ranted about in other threads.

I think you are overlooking the amount of space Scorponok eats up as compared to ML Starscream. Of all the targets near me (about 8 ), only the Super Target carried Scorponok. None of them had enough shelf space to carry it except the Super Target. MP Screamer uses less than 1/2 the shelf space than Scorponok, and MP ratchet, 1/2 the space that MP Screamer does and only 1/4 the space Scorponok does.
Makes perfect sense why they would choose that way when you look at the perspective of "Where the hell are we going to put that?"
Also, as for seeing wanting to see a Titan in hand first, what do you specifically want to see, the box? It isn't like the smaller figures where you can pick out the best deco, or see if any pieces are missing.

I understand about shelfspace, but when Scorponok is guaranteed to sell, and they mark MPM Starscream 1/2 off after about a month of being out?, then replace it with another MPM that takes up less space, but won't sell any better...It's pretty obvious which toy would have been better to stock more of, in spite of how large it's box was

Scorponok isn't even remotely guaranteed to sell more than the MPMs. Neither are. They are high price items, neither would sell better by default.
The MPM price was incredibly strange, if the same happened to Scorponok, he'd be considered a bomb. Considering the Shockwave's still sitting around at full price, I don't think we can automatically assume a G1 toy would sell better either

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I don't think we can automatically assume a G1 toy would sell better either
I think the fact that ER Scorp instantly sells out is proof enough, while MPM has to be clearanced for someone to even be interested.
But do we know how many ER Scorponoks went to retail vs MPM Starscreams? It's pretty obvious since ER Scorp sells out instantly (what few there were), it wasn't a bomb. Heck even if you moved things around a little
Say 10,000 units of MPM went to Target stores and 1000 ER Scorponoks....
Change that to 2500 Scorponoks and only 8500 MPM Starscreams, that would make Scorp a bit more readily available, and while it would not instantly sell out, it would at least be visible for a time, and Target would make way more profit.
Also Siege Shockwave wasn't that great a toy, kind of like MPM Starscream, and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overproduced.

MPM Starscream did not have a pre-order for the Hasbro one, it was a Target exclusive, it literally came in stock, no pre-order. Scorp had pre-orders in February, 6 months of pre-orders. Huge difference.
2nd point to this point: We know the Titans have been drastically cut back since Trypticon. They are almost being made to pre-order and that is about it. Lest we forget that Omega was the first titan not to see deep discount months after release.
o.supreme wrote:Also Siege Shockwave wasn't that great a toy, kind of like MPM Starscream, and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overproduced.
Again incorrect, Siege Shockwave was a pretty good toy. He was overproduced, but again goes to show the weakness and inconsistency of clearance items: he has shelfwarmed for over a year and no discount, while another was a fresh release with no preorder and went on clearance after only a month. The sales are not consistent.

This is correct, siege shockwave uses the same store inventory number as earthrise doubledealer, and (likely) will share the same inventory number as kingdom bw megs - they're all the same in targets eyes - you can't clearance one without affecting all the others; the only way to do that (and the smart way) is to change the inventory numbers along with the line a 'la the way it was done with the prime wars trilogy

Did they change them, though? There was a Combiner Wars Starscream that had been lingering on the shelves at one Target in my area throughout Titans Return and was still there well into Power of the Primes. And when I scanned him? He had the same price as a PotP Leader.Hellscream9999 wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Again incorrect, Siege Shockwave was a pretty good toy. Yeah.

Anyway, behold Snapdragon with Brunt's turret mounted.
(side note, if we don't get an official Metroshot I am buying another Six-Gun to make one with because Brunt has some definite limits as far as being a Weaponizer).
