First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures

Posted by Blurrz Oct 30, 2009 at 11:24pm CDT 30,022 views
The future for Transformers is bright as ever. GenZhao of KOToys.com has gotten his hands on a couple of figures, a Scout and a Legends class, that he says are new Transformers. Unfortunately, no names are attached to these, and the two molds, both vehicles, are completely different from anything we've seen in the news lately. Perhaps new Revenge of the Fallen figures? The first supplements in Classics/Universe 3.0? The New Transformers series? Take a look at the two pictures below, and weigh your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums!

(Pictures removed at the request of Gen Zhao..)

Taking a closer look at the Scout figure, and with the rumour of an upcoming Universe Drift character, could this be it?

And the Legends figure, perhaps the revival of the Transtech line, being Transtech Optimus Prime?

Of course, these are just wild guesses, and no one really knows for certain! So stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more rumour talk, and of course, the fastest Transformers news on the net!

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

Looks good to me.

Could be Drift, could be Tracks. Maybe a classics Dead End?

a friend just pointed this out to me:

Theres NO WAY the red one is a scout. is got BOTH a clear windshield AND headlights. its gotta be a deluxe.

The red one looks like Hot Rod and the gray one looks like the Batmobile. But if they're supposed to be Drift and Transtech Optimus, that's cool too. I hope this is Classics/Universe 3.0, 'cause then I'll actually have something to buy.

Whoa, whatever it is, that red car looks sweet. I just hope the bot mode looks as good.

My opinion is that these are from two different lines. The top one is obviously an Earth-like vehicle. The bottom is much more alien. I'll call Universe 3 on the top one and new line on the bottom one.

I doubt it is a revival of Transtech...however, it would be an ideal time to bring in such a concept. If you look at a lot of the Transtech designs they have more than a passing resemblance to the movie characters. It would be a great middle ground line: Universe 3.0 for us old farts, ROTF for the kids, and Transtech to tie the two together. If I remember correctly, the Transtech Cheetor even had wheel-feet... :-?

Transtech Cheetor looks a little bit like the Animated Blurr toy in robot mode. I doubt the red car is a scout though, it looks too big. It could possibly be Universe Jazz. A Transtech revival would be awesome but until we get robot mode pics these might not even be Transformers.

I hate all this teasing, why only post the damn alt-mode without the goddamned bot-mode?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu******

That said they do look pretty cool and I do hope that is Transtech Prime.

Love the red one, but if they're going backwards and aiming for Transtech, I'm gonna pass on buying it.

I didn't like the idea back then, and I still don't now. Yes, I realize some of the robots we've received in recent history have taken cues from the TT designs, but I just don't like the TT designs themselves.

Ugh.

Yeah, I wanna see some bot mode pics of these pretty bad.
The car looks very cool, very nice car mold. I kinda hope it's not Drift, though... There's so many more characters I want to see done before this comic exclusive joke of a character gets a toy. Even so, if it is Drift, depending on how cool the bot mode looks, I may still get one.
as for the other thing... yes there's a passing similarity to Transtech Prime, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Would be interesting, though.

My guess is that the car could be 1 of 3 G1 characters.
Jazz, WheelJack or Overdrive.
We'll see.

Hopefu;;y not another hot shot(argh), possibly a universe 3 sideburn from car robots?thats eries ahsnt receied any tf love for a while.

I seriously doubt the red one is Jazz - the split hood belies that. Combined with the split spoiler, this means I'd put my money on it either being a Movie Line design, or (if it IS Classics) Classics Wheeljack.

I'll guess Wheeljack. The car kind of has that feel to it...very stock-car-ish.

GOod point, but I can't see it as Sideburn. RiD really is one of the more underappreciated lines in the TFdom. Would love to see an X-Brawn with arms that are acutally the same length and don't sport the whole front end of the vehicle mode.

That reminds me: anyone know where I can download RiD eps? I have a hankering for em now..LOL

If the car's Hot Rod/Rodimus or Drift, I'll get it.

If the gray one's TransTech Optimus or War Within Grimlock, I'll get it.

NOTHING coul be more pic than them finaly going through with something like transtech. I just would love to get the old school aura with the dark and epic feel that could have expanded on transformer mythos that we got but hardly expanded in movie-verse for the sake of megan fox, fart jokes and humping...
