Also, less the car legs, the pictures of the figures on the packaging has a much more traditional feel.

I know that, but what parent in their right mind bur something that hideous for their young child? It's like giving a five year old a Playboy. It's too mature for little kids. My parents wouldn't let me watch Beast Wars when I was little because of how scary Dinobot looked. I feel that most parents this year are going to glance at the Transformers section in the store and then walk as fast as they can to the Power Rangers. It's a simple fact that ugly doesn't sell.

That's no fair! You cut up my post!

Dinobot was pretty creepy, though. The teeth, snarl, and eyes was too much at the time. I was 3 or 4.

Zuko, are you sure you don't want that $5? I'll even split with you.

While I could use the extra money I'm still gonna have to say no thanks.

I don't know if I totally agree with you on "ugly doesn't sell". During the 1980s, there were some really ugly toys out there. Many were of the Masters of the Universe line. And, let's not forget the Garbage Pail Kids and the Mad Balls- all were ugly and all sold pretty well. Granted, these are references from the 80s, "ugly" still sells better than you might think to this day.
As for your parents (and all those who react in such ways), I also had parents like that. But, it did not stop me from watching it. In fact, I have a rebellious nature which I have always possessed. And, I figured if the parental units told me that I could not watch it, then it must be good and worth seeing. So far, I have been right on most things.
