Flame Toys reveals Skywarp and Thundercracker plus more updates

Posted by Emerje Dec 24, 2018 at 10:43pm CST 34,408 views
Another day, another big update from Flame Toys! This time they've revealed on Twitter our first look at the previously unannounced (but totally expected) pair of Skywarp (or "Skywrap" as the name tag says) and Thundercracker! They'll be joining the Furai Model line in the near future and appear to be recolored from the Starscream kit, but hopefully include some extras to give them their own identities. It's still early so we don't have a release time frame just yet.

Also included in the update is a new photo of Furai Model IDW Megatron. We now know that he'll include an extra part for swapping faction symbols and even more surprising, an alternate head! Whichever way you choose to align him he's shaping up to be an impressive looking kit.

You'll also find an extra photo of the entire (thus far) Furai Model lineup which gives us a better idea of the Studio Trigger designed Devastator's size compared to the rest. Not quite as massive as we may have been lead to believe, but still a great looking kit. No further info on Windblade and G1 Optimus Prime just yet.

Moving to the Kuro Kara Kuri line of non-transforming action figures we're greeted with another look at the recently announced stealth Megatron, The Fallen, and Optimus Prime. We also get a look at the entirety of Prime's arsenal which appears to feature a pair of axes based on the one wielded by another Optimus Prime in Transformers Animated of all things. And to round things out we're treated to another look at Victory Leo and the complete Victory Saber. Still not colored, but you have to believe that's coming soon!

Would love for Flame toys to do a complete set of the Covenant of Primus’ interpretation of the thirteen. I would totally buy a Prima and Onyx Prime figure.

This is actually a very good idea for some future Furai Models. :-?

This might seem an odd question, but does anyone know where to get some of those display base/stands that they have pictured holding up/supporting the figures?

I don't mean literally the exact same ones by Flame Toys, rather something with a comparable aesthetic.

I mean, it's easy enough to find clear plastic flight stands online, but if you're after something with a little more detail it gets very difficult indeed...

I would go for the Bandai stands that are used for the Gundam models. Very detailed (with similar details to the one shown on the Flame Toys models), great quality, and very cheap too. They should run for 5-6 $ on Amazon. The 1/144 scale or 1/100 scale ones might do the job for these. Hope I helped ;)

Their font is odd, they have the same character for K and H.

Super glad to see the Seeker trio! but sad they don't have some ever so slight differences. Would have been cool.

Devastator ROCKS

Can't wait for Star Saber. That is a non-transforming transformer I really want, and Victory Leo. I wonder if Saber can ride Leo before combining with him?

I'm eager for a Furai IDW Rodimus, which could easily be released in both MTMTE and Lost Light colors. I would much prefer that to the 3P products out there. It would pair well with announced Furai models like Autobot Megatron and Drift.

If I could part ways with a lot of stuff, I'd buy that Star Saber. He'd have to be the centerpiece and he'd be on his own somewhere as he'd make everything around him look terrible!! Hot dang that's an awesome bot!!

Flame Toys' third Furai Model is coming this month and we're getting our first look at his box thanks to the folks at Planet Iacon. The highly anticipated IDW Optimus Prime kit will be here soon and as with the rest of the line the box is adorned with some truly gorgeous art! And of course the kit itself is going to be great, featuring a ton of articulation, rifle, and a choice of six hands. Still no pointing finger yet, though.

The latest galleries to debut on Seibertron.com are the Furai Model Kits Starscream and Optimus Prime from Flame Toys. These officially licensed "figures" are a little different than most Transformers products since they are actually model kits which must be assembled and, depending on your preference, can also be painted prior to assembly if you prefer that look. Optimus Prime was released earlier last year and Starscream was released about a month ago, which can be purchased at various retailers online. Both of these highly articulated and poseable non-transforming figures were samples given to us by Bluefin, who is the North American distributor of Flame Toys products. They look cool, and I really like building Gunpla so this is awesome. I'd probably on get Screamer though, so I can leave the Optimus Prime in my budget for SS38 :x

I can forgive them because they are model kits that are heavily stylized. There are tons of Transforming pieces of Transformers merchandise, I'm good with some good non-transforming versions. They add some variety
