Via fellow Seibertronian Deathsaurus1, we have a reported sighting of the Platinum Edition set of Optimus Primal (from the Beast Wars line) in the Year of the Monkey redeco from last year. The news part? It was priced down to $39.99 USD, at a Ross store in Arizona! Check it out in the image below.

After, man, well, a long time I guess, I felt like I just had to log in and post a comment on my favorite TF news site.

This last Christmas/holiday season saw what I feel was an unprecedented volume of high ticketed items on clearance prices. I've been collecting TF's for almost all my life, I literally still own my first Optimus Prime, and I can't remember a time when anything like this happened - all the box sets going to Ross's and Marshall's and TJ Maxx's. It really blew my mind.

I live in Northern California and these stores are pretty rare. We only have a few of them. But persistence really paid off. I just kept checking the few stores I can get to over and over again, and I scored almost all the items that broke the news here. It was like the toy hunts of yore when we would wait for the hunters moon and the smell of fresh energon in the air...but I digress....

It all started with that Computron dangit....I never found him and he's now my Loch Ness Monster of TF bargain items...

This isn't to brag but it really blew my mind: I found Superion and Menasor for my best friend's son for Christmas, an extra Superion for me which I didn't really want, but then fell in love with, two Fortress Maximus's (never thought I'd see the day, ever) one for my buddy and one for me, a Sky Lynx, a Sky Warp (always my favorite Seeker) and then lastly, after coming up short at 3 Ross's I found four of those year of the monkey Optimus Primals at one store.

Just amazing.

Thank you Seibertron community, thank you so much. I have to give nods to the other TF sites that broke this news too like Allspark and TFormers. I love all those sites but Seibertron is my favorite. Come on, by far, we all know it's awesome. This made for one of the most incredibly TF collecting years of my life. And I'm now going to keep everyone here posted if I find anything new.
