Kind of hope TR megs get used for a g2 green repaint other than the siege or earthrise as g2 green would be more interesting to see in jet mode.
Posted by Sabrblade on February 23rd, 2020 @ 9:02am CST
I kinda doubt that since A) Season 1 is only six episodes, B) Season 2 will switch from Siege to Earthrise, and C) Apeface wasn't in the voice cast so even if he does appear in the show it likely won't be in any role of prominence.blackeyedprime wrote:Knowing my luck apeface will be in the Netflix second wave with white plastic and less glitter.

Also, not too worried about Megatron for Pinpointer yet, since the G2 Sideswipe battlemaster is currently my Pinpointer. But again, I hope to make a decision in stores on that front

Mine attaches to his back for a Megatron-esque back barrel or arm cannon

No, there isn't really a point for you to mount it as an over-the-shoulder cannon. You can mount it on his arm, however. Kinda makes him look like he has a tiny version of Galvatron's cannon.
Alternately, you can reverse the orientation of the pieces and mount it as a chest cannon.

There could still be some deco differences for Magnus, right? Yeah for sure, but I thought that went without saying since none of these are straight rereleases. I thought Rodimus was talking more about the box contents.

A little annoyed that I have to dig through a "compound" to get to the energon included with Magnus. Would rather have the cape, but that's probably a minor thing he doesn't keep long.

I'd love to have that Teletran display, but knowing it's cardboard pieces makes it less interesting, which is a good thing, because I do not care to have to pick up "grittier" redecos of Sideswipe, Hound, and Chromia.
Hotlink is a must, and more Battle Masters (with blast effect parts) are always welcome. I'm getting Megatron as well, JUST for Pinpointer and correct colors Lionizer. Scrapface looks interesting enough as a redeco and is potentially a new character, so he's on my want list. I wasn't going to bother with Decepticon Disguise Mirage are first, but I do love that mold, and am tempted to "triple dip" on him.
Ultra Magnus is a tough one. I'm happy with the original Siege release. I'd like to have the energon cubes and maybe the extra Rung figure with an "energon powered" deco, but I don't need another version of Ultra Magnus with more battle damage paint apps, unless I can repurpose it as Delta Magnus. We can't know yet, because they're keeping it all a secret. Makes it hard to pre-order when you don't know what you're really getting.
Since we know we're getting a Wave 2 of these Netflix editions, what will those figures be? We need five more Deluxe Class figures for the Teletran-1 display. Will it just be those 5 last deluxes, or will it be another wave of 8 total, giving us some more Voyager 3-packs and maybe another "secret" Leader Class figure?
Posted by william-james88 on February 23rd, 2020 @ 11:57pm CST
Prime will be the voyager offering, I think that's a safe bet.

I can't get these right now. I'm still working on Piranacon. This is too sudden. I can't keep up with this hobby financially anymore. Maybe if Piranacon wasn't double the normal price. As seen with the Masterpiece line, Takara is getting way too greedy now. And I know, Japan pricing! But it's still $60 for a $30 voyager that used to be $14.99 not too long ago. They'll be charging $90 for voyagers in no time. I want a few of these but I just can't keep up anymore. I definitely need Mirage but the others aren't that important. I need to be extremely picky, my collection is getting way too big & I don't want to keep blowing all my money on this never ending drug addiction.

He's a Voyager, but with a crapton of extra luggage. Also, when was Snaptrap/Turtler ever $14.99? Hun-Gurrr may have been discounted to that, but he's a baseline figure who only came with the Prime Armor feet and an Enigma, rather than a hefty retool laden with extras. And if you meant that Voyagers in general used to be that price, you're completely and totally deluded.Aimless Misfire wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Aimless Misfire wrote:Are these going to be in Walmart stores like the 35th or online only?

Well, luckily for you Mirage is only a Deluxe. Also, these aren't due out for a bit. But if it still ends up being too soon for you? I'm pretty sure Voyagers were NEVER $15 except on sale or at stores that sold below MSRP. During Cybertron, the very first series to use the term, Voyagers had the MSRP of $20. Deluxes were $10, however. Those were the days.Rodimus Prime wrote:I think Aimless Misfire was referring to voyagers in general, which were only $15, but that had to be at least 10 years ago, probably even longer. I mean, I remember buying deluxes for $10 and voyagers for $15-16, but I can't remember when. I do agree that it's getting expensive just to get a line of regular release figures, forget about the exclusives.

"Voyagers" have never been $15. The first wave of Voyagers ever, from Cybertron, were $20. Pretty sure you have to go back to Beast Wars Mega class some 25 years ago before you find the size equivalent for $15.

I thought I remembered Voyagers being $20 at the time of the term's debut in Cybertron (and staying that way for a while, because I know got Leo Prime for that price as well), and I actually confirmed that via the Wayback Machine before posting.

ZeroWolf wrote:Also don't forget inflation, that mega class seems cheap by today's standards, but did it back in 96?
That's a valid point as well.
So we're really only paying $5 more comparatively. And argument can be made as to weather the figures have gained that much value over time or not.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I would say that strictly speaking we're not, if only because while engineering has shown improvements in some areas... the toys are priced chiefly by the quantity of plastic, which has diminished.
Not at all. The most expensive part of the process is the molding. A higher parts count means more molds. The amount of plastic doesn't have much to do with it, it's the complexity of the figure above all.
If amount of plastic was actually as big a factor as you claim then that giant RID Bumblebee should cost as much as Titan Devastator, which isn't the case.
All in all, I am pretty impressed that Hasbro found a way to still give us really nice and affordable toys.
