HASBRO Announces quarterly cash dividends on shares

Posted by First Gen May 23, 2008 at 1:34pm CDT 23,757 views
Yahoo! Finance is reporting that the HASBRO Inc. Board of Directors has announced a cash dividend to be paid to common share holders on August 15th, 2008. Share holders are to receive $0.20 a share for all shares on record by the end of the business day on August 1st, 2008.

What does this mean? Well, if you have stock or purchase shares of stock in HASBRO before the end of business August 1st, 2008, you'll be earning a $0.20 a share just for having them. That's money in your pocket just for owning shares. This is good news for stock holders.

Currently it's going in the $35.00 USD a share range. I've seen in as low as $21.00 USD a share. It goes up and down, but expect it to stay strong with Mr. Goldner taking the helm.

I bought Hasbro because it's a stock that I support as a share holder and a Star Wars and Transformers fan-maybe GI Joe again soon too. I like that they've righted the ship now and brought the stock around. Hasbro has aligned themselves with great products-Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, etc. I'm fired up that they're future looks bright.

I encourage everyone who's reading this who's never been interested in stocks, the market, etc. to start taking the things that you love and turn them into potential investment/growth opportunities. I love the fact that I support a company that I believe in. And when I see so many people on this site excited about upcoming products, it just validates why I bought Hasbro.

I've considered it for some time now. My biggest regret is not getting in on them when shares were at $25.00 a pop. This is one stock I know has got some serious growth potenial even from it 37.00 peak in recent weeks.

I had a chance to buy at about 17 several years ago but balked. I've still done OK with the stock but I kick myself for what could have been. It's a least fun to think that my hobbies/addition are at least contributing a little to the Hasbro bottom line. Now, instead of collecting, I prefer to think of it as "product research".
