Hasbro Brand Panel Gallery: Robots In Disguise and Rescue Bots presentation

I don't know if this has been shared yet, my Internet connection is terrible here at the con. I caught the designers between the panel and another event just now and asked about the Devastator accessories and the articulation. The answer I got ultimately came down to Hasbro and Takara wanting to so something different: it was a business decision.

Thought I would share.

major disappointments in this panel: Noone asked about a domestic release for Deluxe Groove. Noone asked about Computron. and the biggest disappointment: Not a single mention of Beast Wars 20th anniversary.

All of these looks great. The only one I couldn't be assed about is the Battlecore Optimus, or whatever they're calling him. Everything else, I want. Now.

I must ask though: why make him a combiner?! Now we can't stop him boasting at how much more awesome he (thinks he) is! Shame his components are all retools:

Wheeljack: shell retool of Breakdown
Hound: head retool of Swindle, who is a shell retool of Rook
Smokescreen: head retool of Streetwise
Trailbreaker: head retool of Offroad

Sky Lynx will stay separate on my shelf, that's all I'll feed his ego with.

Bruticus looks good, even with Blast Off as a mere jet. No doubt TakaraTomy will made him a Space Shuttle (NO Alpha Bravo retool please!). Pretty clever with reversing Hot Spot for Onslaught, and making Swindle of out Rook.

All in all, I'm gonna skip Optimus Maximus and Sky Reign, but try and get the rest.

Dang I can't keep up with this line. Bruticus looks awesome. It's cool that we've got all these leader seekers, but aren't they a little big next to leader Megs? I would be more interested if they were Ultra class or something, and if we had a Soundwave and a better Prime. Combiner Wars must be selling well, then? I wonder if kids wonder who all these characters are lol.

Awwww, Hasbro, c'mon! Heartstrings, much? They are again going above and beyond my expectations for their figures. Now I gotta come up with enough money to get these, Good going Hasbro and why oh why?!

The only thing I'm a little disappointed is that Vortex is just another headswap. For the third use of the AB mold they could've done a little remolding.

Nope, only as complete sets. So for both Groove and possible Shuttle Blast Off, prepare to pay through the nose.

Rats! My heart says shuttle, but my wallet (and nose) say plane.
