Hasbro / Jagex's 2012 Online Transformers Game Details

COnfirmatioon of an MMO...NICE! ANd I will be happy to take a TF:Prime themed game...which makes sense as in 2012 that will be carrying the franchise. SOme G1 toons thrown in are just for good measure. The style also makes it more simple for the programmers as they don't necessarily have to worry about oodles of detailing on the bots like in WFC- which is a good thing and a bad thing all at the same time; it keeps it simple for the programmers and for mid-level PCs on the good side. On the bad side WFC looked amazing...I guess we'll just have to take WFC 2 as a consolation prize.

Ugh...Based on TF Prime? That right there makes me not even want any further info on the game. Hate the show, hate the character designs on the show.

I'm hoping against this as well, but I'd bet in favor of it, especially with such a short timetable for release (then again, delays are inevitable with MMOs, as mentioned earlier). And let's be honest: this game is going to be aimed at a younger crowd- older than the toys, but still aimed at the kids the toys and series are focused on- and MMOs are difficult for kids to comprehend often. Hell, I still have problems with WoW every once in a while, and I'm pushing 40. The Clone Wars game is a disaster and is already failing miserably according to numbers, so we may get lucky and find this game aimed at the young teen audience. but I'm not holding my breath.

Never even heard the term MMO until I read this thread. I for one have zero interest in that kind of game, or for that matter any kind of game where the main object is to go shoot or beat up other guys playing the same game (any of the one-on-one fighter games or things like Goldeneye multiplayer, which my roommates in college used to play). Anything that lives up to the Transformers Armada game for playstation 2 and has levels, development, and an end is fine with me.

Interesting. Did you hate it as bad as the Movie 2007 game?

I actually liked the 07 movie game. Solely because you get to blow up buildings. So, the days when I was just pissed off at everything (like every day), I just played that game and I felt...good.

Online, yes. It's suppose to be a Massively Multiplayer Online game, like World of Warcraft or DC Universe Online.
