Identity of ROTF Corvette Revealed and More Toy News!

TFW2005.com is reporting that the identity of the Corvette Centennial concept car, who has appeared regularly in spy photos from the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, has been revealed during a Hasbro Licensing Summit in Malaysia.

The report states that Hasbro confirmed the identity of the Corvette as Sideswipe!

The licensing summit also confirmed that the Decepticon Ravage will appear in the film, and have a "very raw beast mode"

The report also confirms that Megatron will return as a tank (seen in leaked pics here) and that there will be a Devastator combiner, made of toys that merge to form one "Supreme" class figure. Images of Leader-class Megatron and Optimus Prime (new mold) figures were also shown.

ok this has to stop... i can't take it anymore... they're promising my 2 favorite characters in devastator and sideswipe...and sideswipe has swords... this all sounds amazing and my expectations are now through the roof... please let all this be true. i won't be able to handle it if it isn't.

Are we gonna get confirmation that Soundwave will in fact be a 1980's Cassette player from Hasbro Alpha Centauri next? Prime and Jetfire combining? Why? Oh wait, yes, to combat the Constructicons, right. Nevermind the fact that the scale size of Primes Peterbuilt truck and Jetfires SR-22 Blackbird are NO WHERE NEAR COMPATIBLE!

If whats said so far is true, this movie' gonna suck.

These "confirmations" by TFW are highly suspect. Either they provide proof or it didn't happen.

but should I wait till the eventual G1 or premium repaints? Im not sure I could handle that but £70+ is a lot of money to spend on something only to regret it later

What Sideswipe is now a silver corvette with a pair of samarai swords and on rollerskates? The more I hear the more absurd it gets everytime. I was disappointed with the first one. The second one is going to be even more of a disaster. Poor transformers! These days Hollywood can't even get Transformers right.

Sideswipe, huh? Well, while I was hoping for Tracks, I'm happy with Sideswipe. Looking forward to Ravage, I hope he's totally vicious. Devastator combiner could be promising, I'll keep my fingers crossed that they don't totally screw it up. Prime and Jetfire combining? Not really fond of this idea. It worked out ok in AEC, but I'd rather not see superlinking in this film. Still, I suppose if its done well, I can live with it, and it gives all the AEC kids something from their era in the film.

well im excited that sideswipe (2nd favorite nxt to jazz) is in the movie and that he is the covette. I was really scared that he was gonna be the little red car and sunsreaker was gonna be the little greenish/yellowish car (im not sure which one is the beat and which one is the trax). im not to happy about him being silver. I understand the need for updated cars and designs, but Bay could pay a little homeage and keep them the original colors.

Sideswipe? Not my first guess.

The movie's looking hot right now.

And apparently people complaining about Sideswipe's colour seem to have forgot about the possiblity of his robot mode revealing more red, a la Classics Galvatron.

Tank Megatron? The G2 and Armada fans rejoice.

New moulds for the leaders? I like, but it renders my Leader Prime redundant. Oh well!

hhm.....a supreme devastator toy, well its about friggin time, made outta what has to be deluxes and maybe a few voyagers.

silver sideswipe i can live with coz of the universe release.

and megs as a tank, now the only thing which would make him even more hardcore would be if he was a triple changer, the first film jet and this new tank :D

if this is all true....this film is gonna rock

If Sideswipe is the 'vette - then thank gawd he's a sports car. No way I could handle him being a Trax or Beat. This definitely takes him away from being one of the twins that makes up the Ice Cream Truck.

So - who makes up the Ice Cream Truck? We've seen 3 motorcycles....one of which is Arcee. Is it possible the other 2 make up the Ice Cream Truck? Would this be Twin Twist and Top Spin? Both make excellent names for motorcycles. I'm still not buying the Trax and Beat as the ICT...they're too big AND they're not twins!!

thats great if this is indeed true they included my favorite decepticons ravage, soundwave, devastor could ravage be that mini con type decepticon that attacks the windshield of that car with dreadlocks as hair and long beak for a mouth or will ravage have a differnt robot mode?
