I can't be the only one who wants Tailgate to choose Cyclonus.... Getaway smacks of very awkward and manipulative desperation. Even if he is just intensely lonely, he's done some shady crap to cozy up to Tailgate.

I have a feeling that Cyclonus is literally a panel away.
At the start, I was kinda done with the whole relationships thing, but this is starting to get pretty interesting.

At this point, I really don't think it's a question of choosing, but rather of get Getaway the F*** away from anyone, the manipulative little creep. I am in no way less sickened by his behaviour than I was last time I talked about this.

Now Getaway is dressing little Tailgate up.
Just ... Wow.

Wow, congrats. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think someone could make a Transformer come off as being stalker creepy (which is one hand intriguing and on the other hand kinda sad, because Getaway was one of my favorite Powermaster toys).

Yikes... Getaway's earning his doctorate in "romance-driven creepy manipulation".
I like how Cyclonus is begrudgingly accepting he has a thing for Tailgate.

wasnt getaway working as an assassin or something? I tend to think Getaway has a very specific purpose here and although he is creepy and awkward I'd caution against underestimating him. He seems like he has some ulterior goal in mind. This looks less of a love triangle and more like manipulating an asset.

Getaway's creepiness is compounded by the fact that Tailgate has this "small and naive, and therefore childlike" atmosphere about him, which Getaway seems to be taking advantage of. Eww.
Cyclonus, on the other hand, is being himself the whole time, without any air of deception or manipulation. It's nice when writers can get us to root for the "bad guys."

Cyclonus is literally only a panel away in my opinion, and this is about to turn into world war Tailgate. Things are about to heat up really fierce

I get the feeling getaway is going to ask tailgate to mess with his mind. Maybe make him forget the story he just told him.

You know, people often use words like "naïve" and "innocent" to describe Tailgate.
I'm gonna go with "gullible idiot".

Ok people seriously just remember this.
Tailgate is older then almost everyone else on the ship he is just a short weak guy that is all a little like short people in real life such as Peter Dinklage.
The people who say pedo make me sad since it;s subjective and even then it's grasping at straws.

Tailgate was also born a week or so before Nova Prime left (millenia ago) and was unconscious for all that time. He missed the whole war and has almost no life experience.
I don't like the romance angle in general, but he's certainly inexperienced and dumb enough to be taken in like this.

Well he is naive and young in mind yes but he would still be short even if he had a tough personality like for example Cliffjumper (thinking of the G1 cartoon in mind)
Plus young does not mean child people have to stop thinking Transformers as if they are humans we have to remember not only are they aliens but they are also sentient robots and therefore the only things that really age is their armor and minds they are born already as big as their going to get outside of upgrades and new bodies.

Synopsis
FRIENDSHIP ISN'T MAGIC! TAILGATE has a choice to make—and if he had any idea what was at stake, he'd think twice before making it. The crew is ripped apart as MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE begins the sprint towards its shocking 50th issue!
Summary
For the sake of this review (and the reviewer), there will be no written summary of the book, as it is impossible to say anything without giving something away. There really is no way to make this non-spoilery. Expect pain, gut-punching, emotions, sadness, anger, love, manipulation, politics, post-war statuses, naivety, loyalty, and giant transforming robots.
However, this can be said: Roberts knows how to surprise us and keep us entertained. If you were just starting to nod off, this will snap you awake all too quickly. [Va'al says: And make sure you are ready to squirm uncomfortably at one side of the main plot, as Getaway ..gets away with a lot of morally dubious actions. The emotions in this issue run rampant, and they teeter on the brink of pure anger at times.]
Art
Artwork this week is covered by Brendan Cahill, and he really has been making some good art. With issue 40, we saw just how good he has become and how well he fits the artists for MTMTE, but it is in this issue where he really shines. His art is simply amazing and nothing is left out, no little detail. He does a fantastic job of covering all the bases and making this a great piece of art.
As usual, Joana Lafuente adds all the colors, keeping Cahill's art in keeping with the string of artists that have worked on the series so far (along Milne) and Tom B. Long brings all the magnificent lettering. This issue continues the trends of great art and magnificent artistic team. There really is nothing else to be said there.
Thoughts (SPOILERISH AHEAD!!!)
Speaking as a grown man who loves transformers and who loves a grand story: I cried this issue. Reading through this made this fan break down in tears. There are great characters, great individual stories, and a larger story that may have gone overlooked for a while that has been 2 years in the making. And it all just exploded. In a very emotional way that no one could ever have anticipated.
In a way, the opening of Sins of the Wreckers overshadows this story despite how strong and how big they both were. There was a lot of thought going into this story for some time, and it came crashing in in ways that no one could really imagine. And there are Wreckers connections that cannot be coincidence either.
In conclusion: tears, sorrow, triumph, and understanding all take center stage here. In the words of ScottyP: Crushing. This is one of the best issues to date, and that is saying something considering some of the arcs that we have already got. This is a must have, and the race to Issue 50 has begun in an all out sprint.

Goodbye, Little One.
Actively fighting back tears right now.
I don't know why I am surprised at Getaway's machinations. He works for Prowl. This seems exactly like something Prowl would do.

Wow. I found this awful. This may have been one of worse if not the worst issue of MTMTE ever to me. The ending was just a piece of crap. Also the ending means nothing since we love seen future covers of cyclonus and tailgate this meant nothing
