So how does Free Comic Book Day work? Do you just waltz into your local comic shop, pick up the free issues and Clix figures, and walk out?

In my comic shop it works like this...
They have racks of FREE COMICS (marked).
You walk in and pull a copy of any you want. In years past they have limited it to 2 or 3 titles only, but recently they said as many individual titles as you want that have a FREE COMIC BOOK DAY BOOK.
Participate in free giveaways, and artist or creator visits.
Buy things that you may have missed--figures, back issues, or TPBs, cards, magazines, whatever.
Take your stuff to the checkout. They sort the FREE stuff from the not-free stuff, and then you pay, go home and enjoy!
Yes, it is possible to only get FREE COMIC stuff and pay nothing.
