Images and Review for Transformers Earthrise Megatron

Fellow Seibertronian MadProject informed us of a new review giving us our best look yet at the upcoming Transformers Earthrise Megatron.

MadProject wrote:I don't know if it has already been posted, but we have a videoreview of ER Megatron.

While I like how they remolded the threads to make a single one, I still think that this figure is an easy pass if you already got the Siege.
Unlike Optimus, I think we're still far from the "ultimate" Generations Megatron.

That's not true, in North Carolina I haven't seen anything.
Isn't North Carolina a Mid-Atlantic state? :-D

I thought the classification stopped at Virginia. But maybe? It is frustrating that I can't find stuff, and it is seriously making me consider paying a scalper for the first time for the twin pack of Seekers.
Well I live in Georgia and I'm pretty much in the same boat. New figures always show up a month or so after everywhere else. But I will NEVER line the pockets of a scalper. Those people are scum. I'm gonna check my Target tomorrow, and if I see more than 1 set, I'll get it for you at cost plus shipping if you want.

I sold three of the Hotlink for 49.99 and free shipping on ebay. Hardly 'scum' prices. I made maybe 6 bucks.

Unfortunately it seems that most of the people who buy things specifically to sell on ebay are hardly as nice as you. Almost all of the Seeker 2 packs are being sold for over 100 dollars. That's for 2 Voyager figures. I think that's a little scummy.

I'm willing to wait for Skywarp and Thundercracker for that kind of money. 60 is bettet than 100+.

I figure while people are out there wanting these and they in my area I can make a few bucks (not gouging people) and they can get their figure. I'm far from a neckbeard.

Sabrblade, ER Megs' melee weapon is clearly a spear :P. See the lengthy haft formed by the tank barrel?

Cool though the spear is, it by itself is not enough not enough to sell me on ER Megs when I already have the SIEGE version. Or change my opinion that his production run should be cut short, as many copies as possible recycled, and the molds used for an RiD 2001 (Ugh... Character name reuse is fine, but series name reuse is stupid) Bludgeon remake instead.

Agree on the series name reuse. Makes searching eBay a pain when all I want is RiD 2000/2001 stuff but it keeps throwing everything else at me.

There also may be a “variant” where the front of Thundercracker’s cockpit is missing. I already swapped out and painted Starscream’s cockpit and installed it on Thundercracker. I’m just waiting on a replacement SS right now so all 3 of my Seekers can be whole.

If Hasbro wants to keep reusing this mold, then they should give us a bitching Bludgeon, who would use the mold really well.

It would make a good Bludgeon or maybe even Quake with retooling.

I could see a massive retooling for a Bludgeon. But honestly, I'd rather see Bludgeon as his own unique mold. A leader class.
A new MEGA PRETENDER with a transformable shell with a GI-JOE like action figure inner bot. That inner fig would be a pure skeleton samurai. The shell would be an old tank model that transform into the skull-samurai similar to the ROTF version.

They could do this as a test.

Bludgeon is a fan favorite but he's not THAT popular.

You say that, but every toy of his that's come out has been consistently hard to find, even the new crappy cyberverse brick one

Got an email early this morning that HP will have a Fan First Friday live stream panel with the Transformers Team this Friday, the 26th at 11am EST (8am PST). Hopefully there will be something new, if not perhaps some release dates for upcoming toys to shake up the stagnation as of late.

After a short intermission, there will be a 2nd Panel for GI Joe as well.

I like the vehicle mode, but the head just feels like a massive downgrade compared to the previous one.

If they went with RiD 2001 Bludgeon, no real retooling would be necessary IMO. And it would be a better use of the mold and the slot than a marginally different shelfclogger Megs with an inferior head.

Well I went ahead and pre ordered Snapdragon if for no other reason than I just don't trust my local Targets and Walmarts to be in stock. They've really been bad at getting stuff out, and I'm like Gollum craving the ring of power when it comes to old Snap. I wantssss itttt!!

Snapdragon (and technically Scorponok) are what I'm missing to complete the Decepticons headmasters started in Titans Return, which is a line I will always be fond of as its where I got back into collecting. Hopefully we will get the 'Junior Headmasters' and remaining Targetmasters in the next line or beyond.

It appears TF Source is now accepting preorders for the WFC-E29 Seeker 2-pack Target exclusive for a notably higher price point of $109.99: https://tfsource.com/transformers-war-f ... ekers-set/

All while Target now says shipping is unavailable. It makes me almost want to pay that much, but it's almost double the price for 2 voyagers. I'm holding out hope that maybe stores around me might get some in stock eventually, and they don't all get bought up by scalpers.

As soon as I saw the “in stock” notice on Target’s site for my local store, I drove over, and while there were none on the shelves, a helpful employee looked on his handheld device and said there some in the stock room, so he went and found one for me and brought it up front. At this point, if you can’t find it in Target stores, that may be the best price you see since they are going for around $150 on Ebay.
