Images of Revenge of the Fallen Voyager Bludgeon Out of Box

More images of Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon come our way from s250, who had taken a picture of Bludgeon before hand. These four images showcase Voyager Bludgeon's colouring, aesthetics, and is a great homage to a beloved Generation One character. Expect Bludgeon and his current nemesis, Jungle Attack ironhide, along with many of the other toys first revealed at SDCC '09, to be released some time in early 2010.

Wow this is a must have. Though why is the sword handle crooked? Seems like not such a durable sword..

Bendy sword and bendy gun, just as expected. Well, a little boiling water and that'll be fixed.

Hmm, if we allow for the head still not being brought up the full way (compared to the Hasbro pic where the brim of the crest was above the round shoulder things) and the hip kibble is not placed right, this is looking like a pretty damn nice figure.
I was a little concerned that the skeletal nature of the upper arms would not fit well into the Classics theme, but from these pics it seems all good. The light grey rubbery gun and swords will need a good hot bath by the looks of things though.

I keep wondering, and looking into the translucent plastic of the eye sockets, whether or not the skull/samurai head is a Jetfire-esque helmet with a robot head beneath. It would be awesome if it was. Considering the story on the back of the package they could put some nasty battle damage on the smaller robot head, hence the mask Phantom styles! :P I live in hope. Looking forward to a video review.

Edit: Just noticed the over-the-shoulder scabbard for the sword. Awesomesauce.

Also, the tank wheels are begging for a drop of paint, pale grey, black and orange? No... Gunmetal. :D

You can fix bendy plastic with hot water? Where do I learn of this wizardry?

When you heat that kind of plastic with hot water it goes like jelly. So heat it, hold it in the right position, then cool it, i.e. by dunking it in cold water, and it will hold that shape.

Excellent. His colours look much more vibrant in these pics. Design looks fantastic too.

It is looking like Bludgeon will be my very first movie figure.

You mean the back view showing how half the turret opens out to provide an over-the-shoulder scabbard for the sword?

Holy crap on a stick. I'd glossed over that thinking it was just half transformed - but that is cool.

I suspect his smaller blade will be able to store away somewhere too.

So that's what that was? I thought it was just showing some mech live feature.

Assuming that's a sloppy transformation job, this is a must have. If not, well, a bit disqppointing.

You see that pale grey section inside the folding half in the centre-right of that pic? It is a scabbard, it is visible in the Hasbro shots too over his shoulder. In vehicle mode it folds in and lines up with the gun barrel so you can put the sword down it to make the end of the tank cannon.

my god... EPIC WIN

after looking at these pics over and over trying to figure out what everyone was referring to, i fell in love with the color scheme and the overall aesthetic of the piece, the face is far less cartoony than ti thought and is in fact ghoulish, the figure has lots of bulk and what appears to be a pleasing transformation and plenty of gimmicks!

i can't wait!!

thanks Dreadwing for the clarification!

No worries, happy to help.

I am pretty excited about this figure. I have already mentioned it to my friend in the States to pick it up when it appears there.

When Peaugh reviews it we will hopefully see whether that is a skull-head or a skull-mask. I hope its a mask, it would be a nice nod to Bludgeon's pretender heritage. :D

Since the Wakizashi slides into the side of the tank in vehicle mode, and you can see the socket in the mis-transformed hip kibble in that back shot, my best guess is that it will slide into the left hip armour somewhere, wherever that socket ends up.

Okay, this is looking pretty sweet. I think it's going to be only my 2nd movie piece ever. (I picked up Ravage a couple of months ago... a little disappointed with it, actually.)

One question... why does he have ET's face stuck onto his chest? :P
