I like my T30 Crosscut, so I will pass on this one, but I like the additional red.
Thundercracker will be necessary, i have the other 2 seekers already.
Slug looks good, I am liking him more and more. I look forward to forming core Volcanicus

Oof, Crosscut's red wheels are an abomination. And since the rear ones are pinned there's no easy way to swap them out. Would rather have less red all around if it meant having black wheels. Also there is no way this guy fit the paint budget of a single figure. All the black you see is painted over red plastic, a lot of the silver is also painted including the entirely of the car shell as it's a mix of gray, red and clear plastic. Surely they could have used black plastic and painted whatever parts they need to red and given us a better looking figure than this disasterpiece.
About Metalhawk, I think he's going to be an entirely new mold based entirely on the inner bot. The whole "bot mode looks like the shell" thing really only works for the Decepticons monsters with more interesting faces. I also think they'll have a second use built in, maybe as a year 3 character, possibly even a pre-tool that suits the mold better.

I wonder why the all red wheels on X-Cut but at least, that's different. I'll be getting him for sure.
Since Skywarp came with a fork, it's too bad Thundercracker won't come with a spoon.

The wheels are red because they are on the same plastic tree as the other red pieces. All those pieces will either be red or black.

Then the sprue tree is screwed up if someone thought red wheels was a good idea on a car. Ugh. Definitely will have to figure out a way to fix it when I get one in hand. Those red wheels look atrocious!

Crosscut's red wheels are fine, if you look at it as an homage to that one Hot Wheels show
They're not great, but I can live with it since he's gonna be in bot mode most the time anyway

That sounds like settling. I'm not into settling. It looks bad. I'd rather call a spade a spade instead of sugar coating it.

I think the red wheels look very '80s.

What cars had red tires in the 80s?

Not quite like G1. It conceals inside his weapon in robot mode, which is his tail in alt mode. It never has to be set to the side like a G1 combiner's head.

The G1 Skids mold had a lot of redecos and remolds in the original Diaclone line:

Crosscut has existed since 2002, and previously got a second toy in Generations back in 2014.DeathReviews wrote:Wow, they... REALLY like that Skids mold, don't they?

Blame their pedigree, but Skids, with Trailbreaker, takes the cake for Diaclone variants.

I can't believe there's still people complaining about repaints nowadays. The complaints should have peaked and ended in 1984 at most.

Back to Crosscut... the red wheels, why did they settle with them in the planning? I mean, from what I can tell they're gangmolded with the elbows and hips among other parts, so they must be a different plastic, the kind used for joints, but still, was there no other option other than making more parts of Crosscut black then planing them red?
Slug... OK, I'm curious how Core Volcanicus would scale with PCC Grimstone

While I don't have any of the Power Core Combiners. It seems like Core Volcanicus is going to be about the same height as Siege or ER Voyager Optimus Prime. I get that for core class it's fine. But if the seemingly inevitable Dinoforce retools do happen, this is truly bittersweet. They will likely sell well, but even so, we likely won't get any other versions of them any time soon. Unless somehow the pretools we saw from some of the PotP limbs (Snarl and Cutthroat) ever co

A Core Class Dinoking... again, it would be toy-accurate in terms of size
