Why somewhat controversial you might ask? Only because some fans believe Japanese releases to be more cartoon animation accurate, thus better, and others believe that the newer updated look of the US Classics/Universe versions are far superior.
And then there is the use of chrome on the Henkei versions which often may seem uninspired to some, and to others a nice touch to differentiate these releases even more from their US market releases.
