Yeah...same here. He's not magenta but he still looks good. Also it looks like hiding the engine doesn't push his chest in all the way.maybe it's just the angle
Edit: oh they completely reboot led his chest losing the waist detail. That's...kinda lame. Well I got 5 months to decide I guess.

Yeah...same here. He's not magenta but he still looks good. Also it looks like hiding the engine doesn't push his chest in all the way.maybe it's just the angle

Okay, so Tak Kup blows Hasbro kup out of the water. That mold looks and works so much better here. However, why the hell can't we just get a blue Kup, with a blue head, that actually looks like Kup?! After saying no to the previous generations one, and banking on this, I'm fairly disappointed.

I find it ironic that that Rodimus was the last wave 3 deluxe I got, and after all the searching, he shows up on troves in stores and now Takara has a target master version....... why must everything good be available this month?!?!? I seriously can't get anything else after the chaos on velocitron box.'

Oh wow these are gorgeous. Kup has retooled arms along with the face. Love the little Warrio stache on the sweep head. Those targetmasters are really cool too. Now I just have to decide what to do with my Hasbro hotrod.

looks like its time to put triggerhappy and hot rod up on ebay sometime before september.
wonder why they didnt do it with blurr and scourge.
will be waiting to see what slugslinger and misfire look like.

They didn't do it to blurr because they probably didn't plan on it till way after they did Blurr.

Simple - Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Scourge and Cyclonus were not released as Targetmasters in Japan. However, Hot Rod and Kup later got a re-issue in Japan that included their American Targetmasters - so those two have precedence for this while the other three do not. We can fully expect to see Targetmasters for Triggerhappy, Misfire and Slugslinger I think

Simple - Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Scourge and Cyclonus were not released as Targetmasters in Japan. However, Hot Rod and Kup later got a re-issue in Japan that included their American Targetmasters - so those two have precedence for this while the other three do not. When I first saw the kup mold I thought it looked like a piece of shit, especially in the weird toilet cleaner blue. The dark grey though it's not really kups colors but i guess its good. Yeah it's good. Pretty Damn good.

It's not Hot Rod. If you look at the color scheme, Takara has pretty much turned Hot Rod into Rodimus Prime.His colors match perfectly with Rodimus Prime, minus the trailer attachment of course.
I'm assuming these colors schemes best match the Japanese Headmasters series, not the US G1 series, that's why Kup is grey. So neither version is giving you a G1 animated series color scheme, you're either getting a G1 toy homage, or a Japanese Headmasters homage.

He was teal in headmasters. He wasn't ever grey in the headmasters show.

Well that was unexpected. Not only do they get actual Targetmasters, but they also got retooled as well. I suppose that makes them worthy of a repurchase. Not a big fan of Hot Rod's new chest that doesn't seem to sit right in car mode and gold leaf flames or Kup being gray for some reason (another case of the design team using the wrong screen cap for source material). And to think, people swore that if Targetmasters were done in this line they wouldn't also be Headmasters.
Now I'm a little sour that Ginrai didn't get a proper engine mode. This does add credit to the theory that Overlord will be retooled to be as tall as Super Ginrai, though, if they're willing to go this far with Deluxe figures.

I don't think that's a new chest piece on Rodimus. It just seems to be that the front of the bumper you're supposed to fold under the chest on Hot Rod is not folded under here.
