Takara Tomy has updated their website with an official product page for Dark Steel. The figure, which pays tribute to Beast Wars Quickstrike, will be exclusive to Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera and Yamada Denki, and is scheduled for release in September for a price of 3150 yen.

This figure will also see a domestic general release in DOTM Deluxe wave 5 with Air Raid and Armor Topspin.

That's a pretty weak connection; hardly an "homage".

are you really supposed to pronounce it AN HOMAGE? Iv'e always had issues with that...

That's always how I've pronounced it. It feels so wrong saying the H.

i thought thats how everyone said it, it is a French loan word after all.

what do you say? home-age?

on closer inspection, the face looks a bit derpy. kind of kills the rest of its sinister attitude with the Owen Wilson nose

Wow that honestly looks amazing (Although i'm biased about beast wars)I hope domestic isn't an outrageously priced (aftermarket) retail exclusive like Spacecase

I don't dislike it. If he's on sale, or there's an offer on that I can get him a bit cheap when I'm getting Armour Topspin, I will possibly pick him up.

I just found a listing for a case assortment on a site called "Urban-Collector.com":

http://www.urban-collector.com/transfor ... 11685.html

The image shows Dark Steel (the Hasbro version) along with the new plane TF:

Transformers 3 Mech Tech Deluxe Action Figure Asst 201105 is an Urban Collector pre-order. The Transformers Mech Tech Deluxe figures convert from vehicle to robot and offer a wide breadth of Autobot and Decepticon characters. The new Mech Tech comes weapons system features an assortment of new key Transformers: Dark of the Moon characters. Includes new deployable Mech Tech weapons system that works with other Mech Tech assortments. They change from vehicle-mode to battle-ready robot mode. As the battle rages on, keep converting them back and forth, so they're ready to face whatever their enemies throw at them! Figures include Nitro Bumblebee, Mudflap, Cyberfire Bumblebee, Specialist Ratchet, Jet, Sponsored Car #2, and Sideswipe.

Certainly not worth buying a whole case over, but they list its availability as November, so at least we know when to start looking for them :).

The two unidentified ones are Armor Topspin and Air Raid, and "Sideswipe" is the aforementioned Darksteel.

So November huh? Great, just in time before my State-side visit ends. And two different kinds of Bumblebees in the same case?! Hasbro, wake up, this is overkill! :BANG_HEAD:
