I wish there had been a core class comparison, since he's so short maybe he'd be a good opponent to rattrap

Pretty sure we’ve gotten several confirmations that this kid does NOT steal these, he’s partnered with Hasbro.

I mean most of us poor shlubs are living paycheck-to-paycheck so we have to budget our resources to get TF's when they come out, but of the several thousands of us, I'd imagine there are a few more well-off than others, so they get the reviews earlier. I'm not jealous, it gives me a good opportunity to look at something several months in advance.

Some of the more well known (infamous) early reviewers are obtaining questionable factory samples, based on their close proximity to where the toys are being made, but my guess is that PvP's family is financially secure, so he can afford to get the earliest sources and pay insane amounts to get them shipped to him in the UK as quickly as possible.

Yeah he got others off In Demand Toys, like Selects Abominus and Volcanicus. I suspect Scorponok here is similar. An early review to build up hype.

I'm really only waiting to get bots I don't have yet, like Tigatron! I can't wait to see his voyager -- I'm expecting similar quality as we saw with Dinobot. I know not everyone loved the Kingdom Dinobot -- but he's a helluva lot more of what I wanted than the original toys were, despite their charms. Of course, I'm only referring to Dinobot in bot mode, since I have yet to transform him.

Early releases are weeks, not months before they're on shelves. I've also heard from several sources that he and Ton Ton sell their samples for crazy amounts privately to recoup whatever costs they had. Between the views and the sales, they're doing ok. For the record, Hasbro will never send out figures this early to be reviewed. If they did there's a long list of reviewers who have larger audiences and have a closer relationship to Hasbro than PvP and Ton Ton.

Besides sometimes I do question whether someone has stolen from the factory or if Hasbro are being very sneaky and using it as a way to build hype for forthcoming figures, plus they don't have to worry about a reviewer not declaring they got it from hasbro as they can rely on the "thief" angle.

There are many examples of toys released in other countries months before they came out in the U.S. It happens often. Last Summer , In Demand got ER Skylynx and Scorponok months before many other places did.
Also for the record, go watch Emgo's review of Selects Black Roritchi. He literally reviewed it the SAME DAY it came up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse, and he did Credit BBTS & Hasbro for sending him one early. Since he usually is not one of the super-early reviewers it was quite a surprise.

Wingfinger, being a Pteranodon, isn't a dinosaur, but looking at the somewhat larger clade in Archosauria that includes both dinos and pterosaurs:
Basically, as far as I'm aware, the same way we determine a lot of other stuff about them: looking at the fossil evidence (bones, skin/feather impressions, etc.) and comparing to the same things in their closest living relatives (birds), their much more distant relatives that are still closer related than any other group aside from the aforementioned (crocodilians), and also compare to non-related living animals that are filling similar or the same niches today.

Death doesn't judge the souls he reaps - that's for others to do. I just escort them to the courtroom so to speak

But no - I would not accept stolen merchandise. I didn't accuse PvP of stealing - I just marveled that he is getting so many of these new figures so early, and wondered how he does it. He seems awash with all the stuff that was only just announced/revealed at the Pulse event a couple weeks ago. These are figures that aren't supposed to be available until late this year at the earliest. That kind of early access seems highly unusual. Maybe they wanted him to do the reviews first because he has an accent, and thus makes it sound 'classier'...?

It does suck that the rest of us have to wait, but at the same time it also helps us decide if we want to get a figure or not. Seeing someone actually handle the figure, transform it, pose it, as opposed to just photos of it, is a win for us, IMO.

Last summer there was a big thing with him and TonTon and the source of their super-early previews. They were getting them from factory employees, who were stealing them - and then there was some kind of program they were running where you too might be able to become an insta-youtube celeb if you wanted by buying the figures early through them.

I absolutely despise it when reviewers constantly say tab this in "LIKE SO", this goes here "LIKE SO", flip this up "LIKE SO", "LIKE SO", "LIKE SO". Irritates the piss out of me JUST LIKE SO!
I also can't stand it when everybody calls extra parts "kibble".

Who's the jackass that started calling it kibble anyway?

All the Walmarts in my area got cases of Optimus Primal & Cyclonus. I don't think it was a smart idea for Hasbro to pack the case with 2 Primals & only 1 Cyclonus. Everybody seems to be buying up Cyclonus & leaving both Primals. That's exactly what I did too. I'm not interested in Beast Wars except for the 2 females & I already got them.

I like it too because it gives us a specific word for a recurrent characteristic of Transformers. It'd be more annoying to have no word for that characteristic.

It would be HUGE trouble for Hasbro if it got out that they were quietly filtering samples out to reviewers and telling them not to disclose where they came from. YouTube and most credible platforms require it otherwise it would lead to accusations that Hasbro is paying for positive reviews, something that could cause a negative backlash.
On the flipside, there isn't a store online or off that wouldn't ask for a few mentions in the video and probably a link in the video description and maybe even a pinned first comment in exchange for a free review sample. The idea that a store is sending these out to him for free with no strings attached is frankly absurd. He's aware people think he's buying stolen figures since he got them so early so why not preemptively say where they came from, even if he had to pay for them, if they're not stolen? It's all very suspicious.
william-james88 wrote:Easy way to know if they are sent the products by the company is if they show the box.
And there's that. Neither Hasbro nor any retailers send out samples without boxes.

Well, it's good to know the origin of it. But for some reason, it seriously irritates me.
Pet Peeve: Something that a particular person finds especially annoying.
I don't have a really good explanation why it annoys me but it just gets under my skin for some reason.
I hated collecting GI Joe because I had a massive bag of tiny accessories & guns that I couldn't keep track of. And when I sold most of my Joes, trying to match the parts with the figures was a total nightmare that took hours. I think "kibble" would fit the GI Joe fandom a lot better. I don't really mind the Transformers parts & accessories & I have no problem remembering which parts go with which figures. All the GI Joe guns looked the same, all molded in solid black. Just like little bits of dry dog/cat food all look the same. Because of that, I definitely think "kibble" should be a GI Joe thing.
