So his right leg is basically Scrapper doing a hand-stand.

well at least the head doesnt look as small as I once thought. It looks perfectly proportional to the body. Not a big fan of the back though.

I still say doing devastator bigger than the other combiners plus simplified equals total failure. Sure the hasbro only crowd will buy into this just because it exists. But in no way shape or form is this the "definitive" devastator by a longshot. Ill happily skip this oversized kiddie toy and stay content with my hercules and G2 giant. Sure they both have their flaws but at least they are in scale and have all the proper articulation points on the individual bots. Plus mixmaster should not transform into a rolling sesstank.

This thing looks so good.
Does it have poorly chosen green? Yes. And it will take a lot of work to put a nicer shade on it.
Does it have some wonky individual robot modes? Yes. But looking at Scrapper's "elbows" I'm hopeful that it won't be too hard to add a couple of ball joints.
Does it look like it'll be a bitch to put together? Sure does. But will it be worth it? Hell yeah.
Does it cost upwards of 400 dollars? Nope.
And for those of you who like to buy 3rd party, I'm somewhat jealous; it must be nice to be able to drop an extra $300 on something to make sure it's absolutely perfect.

But even then, the third party toys arent perfect. For instance, just look at the head sculpts and tell me which one looks best compared to this:

Do any of these heads:

Beat this one?

Nope! Not saying they are inferior, but 400$ still wont buy perfection. Hence why I couldnt care less for those when I have a Hasbro Devy for 150-170$. And plus, he has a great headsculpt. And to the first person to say "but wait, you can buy the upgrade for...", oh yeah like the first thing I want to do when I pay 400$ for a toy is to spend even more to fix it. No thanks!

AMEN to that My Friend!
I don't have the money to buy 3rd party stuff, and even if I did, I like playing with my transformers which obviously involves them being able to transform. I like those that can transform quickly and have a few sacrifices than those that are better but not perfect that take 20 minutes to transform.
I don't buy upgrade kits either because I like the toy the way I get it.
He really is mistransformed, but We all know that he will look much better when the in-hand images from people who actually know how to display him right. I like the fact that he is bigger too, considering he is considered the ultimate combiner.

The detail looks surprisingly excellent. Now all I want to know is the plastic's quality.
I'm going to agree with you on this one Mr. james88.

Very true. It's a sad truth that lots of 3P items need upgrades. I had to buy this for my Hercules...OptimalOptimus2 wrote:I'm going to agree with you on this one Mr. james88.

I'll take individual robots with proper articulation and plastic that isn't see-through over a slightly more accurate headsculpt thank you very much.

I think I'm just going to sit this one out and wait for the MP constructicons. They should be along in nine or ten years, but they should be 'definitive.' Unless that line also falls apart by then.

Too each their own. Ive always felt this is a P2P hobby. If you are happy with a Devastator that is plagued with sacrifices made to accommodate 5 year olds and their really cheap parents, then Hasbrostator is for you. it scales perfectly with other large kid size dolls and can tower over little sister's doll house to crash the tea party. But if you want an adult collectible, that scales well with CHUG figures, looks cool, has proper articulation, and a wide variety of upgrades for those who want more, then Hercules is definitely worth the extra money.

Anyone want to take bet on an Alpha Bravo that Rated X will buy this and create pictures of him crashing tea parties and dollhouses just to continue his incredible lameness?

I'd take that bet but it would cost me too much to ship you an Alpha Bravo. And.... I wouldn't bet against that.

This is flamebait, pure and simple. X, you can voice your opinion without offending others. The part I bolded above is certainly unnecessary and stuff like that needs to be omitted in the future.
Just because someone can't afford 3rd party doesn't make them cheap. Just because it was designed with kids in mind doesn't make it cheap. This has always been a line of TOYS, aimed at CHILDREN, made for CHILDREN, we are a distant 2nd place in terms of importance when one designs these items.
You have to stop being so argumentative and antagonistic, X. You're pushing too many buttons and it's not necessary to do so.
