In the same boat. Seeing in person, the cream shade of the white was the deal breaker for me, though. Pre-ordered Takara's. I know, super nit-picky. But hey, I collect Transformers!

Hm yeah the Takara one looks a lot better. And it goes a lil way to try ignore that whole Minibus nonsense.

It's too bad the whites of the two versions don't match more closely. I like the blue of the Takara one better, but prefer the white thighs. I'm not the only one to write this, I know. But that comparison pic really highlights the good and bad of both paint jobs....

Yeah, I know what you mean. The tolerances of the shoulders on mine aren't the best either. Have we seen the cockpit of the Legends Magnus?

I likewise don't recall seeing pics that advertise the Alpha Trion figure as a pilot for Ultra Magnus, so I wonder if the Takara version will even acknowledge that feature.

I found one after a little digging. Back on page 94 there are a couple pictures of the chest open and a kiss players figure sitting there. No paint inside the chest.

Hmm...Takara Magnus' colors are more vibrant; subtle yet effective. The blue is brighter & the whites are whiter. The red thighs aren't only comic accurate, they're G1-toy accurate; I wasn't expecting that.The blue on the shins/ramps, and the crotch is a surprise as well. There's a lot less white, overall.

G1 Magnus is one of my all-time favorites so the comparison pic is really cool, but it kind of makes CW Magnus look like a pin-head. They're about the same size in bot-mode, so the smaller head on the CW Magnus does look a bit tiny. Leader G1 Megatron, Skyfire, and the new Seekers don't seem to have the same issue.

Anyway, this does look good, and more than a bit tempting to "double-dip" despite the higher price, I think.

Still really happy with my choice to get the Hasbro version. Minimus makes the figure for me, and while takaras does look nice, hasbros is still very good too

My biggest Question is do I want two Magnus'?. Decisions Decisions.
