I like that sci-fi background in the comparison shots.

What a downgrade from MP Thundercracker which already exists.

Odd choice of comparison figures...it's like photographing a Chevy Malibu with luxury European sports cars. The one is just out of place with the others...

Also I have to add that looking at these particular pics makes me believe the MP line did nothing to improve the scale debates argued about the classics line. Its just another mismatched hybrid between cartoon and vintage toy scale combined with real world alt mode scale that doesnt look so good side by side. The only difference is now the mismatched scales take up more space on your shelf.

Transformers will always be out of scale g1 ultra Magnus side by side comaprison next to metroplex and bruticus, my Theroy on mp figures there not made to be in scale with transformers series maybe in scale with other mp figures but mp figures are more to adult oriented with higher price rage higher complex transformation more detail, while everything leader class and below is aimed at kids oriented which scale does not matter to kids transformers will never be in scale if that where true they cost more to make buy for fans Tamara gave fans mp series high in detail, price, transformation, but for average collector who plays don't care about scale that is what non mp series is for kids

I'm excited for Thundercracker. The coneheads could definitely use some more love, though.
Right. Because MP Starscream being a few heads taller than MP Prowl or MP Sideswipe is totally not an improvement over Classics Starscream being a couple heads shorter than Universe Prowl or Universe Sideswipe.

I understand wanting to emulate what the old toy did, and I think it would have been cool if the Masterpiece did this, but at the same time, they're going mostly off the cartoon, where Magnus transformed directly from truck to patriotic robot and there was never any indication of a smaller robot in armor. Most fiction has adopted this view, including the IDW comics which Leader Magnus is most heavily based on. Also, I think from an engineering standpoint, it's easier to design something that transforms fluidly from one mode to another without having to worry about separating and combining into armor and stuff, which is important for selling to kids.

But still, he did exist in toyform. Not no hung up over it btw. Just an inference on why chuck waxed nostalgic. Me? Already have the MP version. Btw, also planning to get this sucker........only the Tomy version that is.

This Thundercracker looks amazing.
On a different note, isn't the Leader class Megatron supposed to come with a sticker sheet? Mine came with a painted Decepticon symbol.

My cars was Malibu...lasted me 15 years and put a lot of miles on it. and I'd rather take that than an overpriced euro car any day. So in other words, it was worth it to me.
There is an analogy in there somewhere.

My list of reasons to buy the MP Seekers grows ever smaller. 3x cheaper and IDW inspired? Bring it on, Hasbro. I just hope they at least make the original 3 Seekers...

They'll make Starscream for sure, at the very least. The comics keep teasing that Starscream is in store for yet another body swap.

Thundercracker keeps looking better, Maybe we could get a Ramjet, Dirge or Thrust out of this mould or even all three but that’s being way to optimistic.

He looks really nice with the MP seekers! I've always preferred my seekers to be different physically when displayed on the shelf, repaints get kinda boring (blasphemy, I know).

You're also factoring in the cost of a $20k vs a $250k car...if someone was offering you one for free or the same price, you'd take the overpriced Euro car any day. In the case of these, the price difference isn't all that great. These leader figs are running like $50 now. MPs can be bought from $45 - $120 these days.

It's rather from 45$ to 200$. That's what MP Ultra Magnus, MP-Asia skywarp, MP Platinum Soundwave and Star Saber cost. And that's without counting shipping.

Also I paid $3k for my car. And yeah, MPs are ridiculous. I got the first MP 01 for $70 and I thought that was high back then. $180? No thanks. It's just not worth it to some of us. To those that it is worth it, that's fine. But some of us are after the toys. Not the expensive collectables.
