MPM-14 Bonecrusher Revealed and Ready to Pre-Order

OK, that looks pretty damn good. I'm in!

Awesome. I want it!

I got my copy preordered. Having seen the real vehicles in Afghanistan, this looks pretty darn close to the real Army Buffalo vehicle. Not that the Studio Series was that off in design but now having this in the MPM line, wonderful. I am loving it.

Gotta say, I think they nailed Bonecrusher! Gets his proportions down very well, and the versatility of the claw arm is super cool! Wasn’t initially planning on getting it since I’m more of an SS collector than MPM, but it looks so good I’m definitely leaning towards picking him up!

I’m just really glad Bonecrusher’s design has finally gotten justice! Past figures have been pretty good but this is on a whole new level.

I'm oddly impressed by the dirty windshield detail. Not enough to buy it, but impressed nonetheless.

I want it, but I won't be in a hurry. Like all the previous MPM 'cons, he'll be on sale sooner or later.

Just need Brawl and the MV1 cast is complete!

I am so happy with this, this appear to have done a superb job. He looks so good! all the dirt and weathering details are fantastic! His design looks just like it did in the movie! the alt mode rules! He has the flames from when he smashed through the bus on the highway chase! The alternate head!

It's all so great. This makes me so very happy.

I don't know if I would call it simple so much as fairly straight forward and not the type of transformation where you're likely to break something if you don't get the order exactly right.

I really wish they'd do a 2.0 on Prime. It was released between Movie the Best Leaders MB-11 and MB-17 and didn't feel like much of an improvement over those two, especially the weird painted windows, at twice the price. I don't own one, I couldn't justify it and use MB-11 to fill the role.

Thanks to ToyBase on Youtube, we have our first transformation video for the upcoming Transformers Movie Masterpiece MPM-14 Bonecrusher! This video gives us some size comparisons in robot mode and in alt mode for Bonecrusher compared to MPM-4 Optimus, as well as a full vehicle to robot conversion sequence.

Bonecrusher appears to have a very intuitive yet straightforward transformation, with some awesome little details such as how his crotch wheels in the inner thighs are formed, and how much of his alt mode goes into his giant claw.

Also briefly shown off are the flame effects from when he smashes through the bus, his alternate claw pieces, and his alternate face from when Prime gives him a solid punch.

But I've been burned twice by preordering MPM Starscream and Blackout from Amazon.JP.
I paid the high price and the high shipping, only for the damn things to pop up on clearance locally with free shipping.

I WILL get that Bonecrusher, but this time, I'll bid my time and wait for the local sale.

I dunno how you did it, but for me, preordering from Amazon.JP amount to a whopping 27K yen, shipped and taxed.
As for ordering from Canadian stores, the base price of the toy is more expensive, but the shipping is much cheaper. The total is still 265$CAN though.

And for some reasons, I can't find it in any American online stores.

So, yeah.
I have no choices but to wait.

Usually, these exclusives won't stop independent retailers to have them in stock.
Regardless, no wonder D-Max could order it for cheap. Target have some weird pricing policies and they throw coupons around like business cards.

Too bad Target died in Canada years ago.

True, but they would be importing from Japan (or perhaps Asia) plus a markup which doesn't really make for much of a savings, if any.

I hope Bonny will be like MPM Starscream and Blackout and be available everywhere for a long time like a locust plague in Canada. Then the inevitable sale will come and I'll be willing to get one.

How many of you watched the early review for MPM Bonecrusher from PrimevsPrime? There's a moment where he is a bit puzzled by how the ratchets sound and feel when moving the leg back. He wasn't the only person to sense that and a fan who purchased Bonecrusher recently (now that he's being found at retail) wanted to get to the bottom of it so they disassembled that section. And low and behold: they found the joint was broken. You can see the image below. Its unknown if the Ratchet joint comes broken in these examples or if it broke after handling, nor do we know how widespread the issue is. We just wanted to give you a heads up an explain why this area of your toy may not seem right when you handle it.

These mounting QC issues are concerning on a number of releases.

Unscrewing the four screws in the back of the crotch piece, a user was able to supply this picture, where the image on the left is the problem, and the picture on the right is the correct position.

has anyone even read what the original poster said on the tfw2005 forums? is not a qc problems is an incorrectly slotted ratchet, fix is unscrew the part, position the ratchet properly, close it

That IS a QC issue. This is a missassembled part. Something that should have been built and inspected correctly.

This is one of the main reasons why I'm not buying anymore MP figures from HasTak.

Fortunately this part doesn't look too difficult to reproduce in CAD and 3D print with ABS plastic.

Change "not buy anymore" to "not pre-order anymore." Why limit yourself? Just wait and see how the general quality will be. Furthermore, MPM toys are expensive but are widely available everywhere and WILL go on sale sooner or later. So, no rush.

My copy's ok. Pretty good figure, transformation isn't necessarily complicated but there are a ton of steps. Steps that I will likely never memorize

I got my Bonecrusher in hand, and I am beyond happy. Bonecrusher's scenes in the 2007 movie really struck me, and is the reason I am here. He is my all time favorite Decepticon. And this MPM lives up to that. This is a very good figure, I really like him! The fact they built in the bus-smashing flame effects and the fork options is great, plus the face sculpts. I adore him. Transformation is solid, involved, but not hugely difficult. And he is just beyond good. I am so happy.

Nope, but mine function with no problems, so I have had no need, and did not know about the "error" until I was catching up on this thread tonight. and I've had Bonecrusher for a week and a half now.

Still, the problematic part seems to be standard so anyone like me who have a big box-O-scraps on hand can find a replacement inner ratchet 0 part easily.

I agree.this is a really solid figure with a great transformation. I was stunned as to how heavy the figure was weight-wise.

He has serious presence to him, they finally made him both tall enough and wide enough

Just an update: he's still fantastic. and also super heavy in all the right ways

I just transformed the MPM Bonecrusher and WOAH. I'm impressed! Not only is the vehicle massive and heavy in hand, the transformation is not a pain to do (despite my cheating with Emgo316's JTR). Meaning there was nothing that fought me, no tolerance issues, and no annoying bits unlike Blackout.

The final bot is mind-boggling and is way, WAY more screen accurate than is previous 3P counterpart. Just amazing. Well worth the money compared to Megatron and Starscream.



Also, mine didn't had the hip issue.
