Following up on the Studio Series Dropkick and KSI Sentry Hasbro Stock photos found in an eBay auction we have one more auction for Studio Series Dark of the Moon Ratchet! These are the black background stock photos, as well as one white background one, for the box. We already do, however, have stock photos from TakaraTomy, but this is just icing on the cake. You will see that this is a redeco of the previous Studio Series Ratchet figure with the new gun accessory replacing the buzzsaw.
Would you like to by the version of Ratchet? Or are you fine with the ones you already have? Let us know in the forums below!

I customised mine a bit anyways with some extra paint and also snipped the roof rack thing so it folds neatly with the roof so doesn't drape down behind him in robot form cos that looked ugly and I dunno why Hasbro didn't snip it themselves.
So yeah the new one's definitely on my 'if i come across it real cheap and feel like being a completionist' list.

I'm tempted to get at least one Shadow Raider just to have him as Lockdown's troop guy like they were in the film. Obviously they look totally different in the film other than having the masked head look but the toy works as them reformatting to have alt-modes like their leader. Works for me anyways. I just convincing myself cos it turns out i really like that orange and black look on the shadow raiders and the green masked head.

Not quite his body type but eh it works for the sake of the toy.

I feel like some of the TLK stuff goes pretty well.
Voyager TLK Optimus, Megatron, Hound, and Nitro Zeus
MB Warhammer Bumblebee
Premier Berserker
I also went ahead and put Leader Jetfire in the mix. He was too small before, but for this line, he seems just right at least in robot mode.

Honestly, I find most of the new mold TLK figures fit in quite well with Studio Series. You can tell they were already on an upswing in quality after the low of the AOE toys.

Not home at moment so I may forget some but currently I have some TLK toys like the ones you mention Voyager Megatron, Prime, Wave 3 Bee (with a third party hammer), TLK (and DotM) Barricade, Berserker and Cogman and also I have AoE Drift and the second AoE Bumblebee and Evasion Prime, and a Revenge Optimus Prime (for any time Studio Prime looks too small, though Revenge annoys me with his more limited posability among other things), and RotF Bludgeon.
Oh and Legends class Ravage cos he's awesome and way more scale accurate than the Deluxe.

The Last Knight figures seem to be almost a "preview" of the studio series. Some may lack a bit in paint apps (but then again, some studio series figures do too), but the attention to detail in sculpt and size is there. Most of the Deluxe and Voyager TLK figures seem to fit perfectly in terms of aesthetic and size with the Studio Series so far. There are a few cases where I still prefer the Age of Extinction versions of some characters, like Crosshairs and Drift, especially because I have their very well detailed (with paint) Autobots Unite 5-Pack versions. I go back and forth on which Hound I like better, though. The Hasbro Aubobots Unite 5-Pack version of the Movie: The Best version from Takara. Oh, and of course, I still have Movie Advanced Voyager Optimus Prime instead of the Studio Series version displayed, scale be damned. He just looks so much better (though his transformation is nightmarish).

I do like the gun but it’s completely unpainted. Looks like a 3D printed accessory fresh out the package.

1. Soundwave with Laserbeak (deluxe)
2. Shockwave (small leader or large voyager)
3. Dino (deluxe)
Come on Hasbro just give us a Dino. No one will care if the alt mode isn't a 100% licensed Ferrari. Do what Alien Attack did with their Firage.

I'm more eager for a nice matching set of the "Wreckers" from Dark of the Moon. All Deluxe sized and all in their normal alt modes (or all in their "weaponized" alt modes).

Exactly my thoughts. Combiner Wars Dead End was so close to the Ferrari 458 in design I wondered why he never got a deluxe of his own. And soundwave deserves a proper release as well.
With the new custom bumblebee with swappable parts and general SS precedents of iconic accessories, we could see changeable Wreckers. I never found a single one of them at local retail as well!

Dino was a good character?

Wolfman Jake wrote:You know, now that we know Hasbro is releasing some very specialized gift packs for the Studio Series line, like SS-15 Bumblebee with swappable alt mode parts or the retro packs that include G1 dino cassettes, I think it's more likely that Hasbro might eventually release some box sets to cover some of the smaller characters in the movies that wouldn't work at Deluxe size (not even if "Jazz" levels of small). We might finally get a "Brains" that way, a proper Wheelie, a new Ravage and Laserbeak, Scalpel, some Insecticons, etc. (Maybe even an Ejector that can stand up on its own!)
Ejector does stand up on his own?
Wouldn't a Studio Series Ejector be incredibly tiny though and have to come in two tiny toys (a toaster and a robot) cos would be too tiny to have any joints for transformation or even articulation?

As for Ravage, Legends class version still works great but if Hasbro want to attempt an even better one then that's fine with me.

Yeah. I've had two previous Voyager Ironhides before. The 2007 one and the DotM one and this beats them easily for a variety of reasons such as the proportions and general shape of this figure being more squat and accurate (the 2007 is too tall, the DotM is too spindly) and a big one is what I mentioned about the torso. And on the previous ones I felt like I couldn't pick up the figure without dislodging either of the two truck hood parts even the slightest bit (which my OCD haaaates) so to have them actually lock into place (via two parts per side, the main hood piece clips in just by the neck and the attached doors fold over onto the back and have ports that fix onto little struts. Many early reviews missed those bits and just had floppy hood pieces because that's the way it comes packaged. Took me a few minutes to figure out what clips in where but worth it). Plus my DotM figure was kinda floppy at the waist and often fell backwards on his lanky legs anyways.
Studio Ironhide feels so darn solid and chunky and one that feels nice to take off the shelf and play about with and put back on there when you're done with no stress or annoyances. Definitely recommended and already one of my fave figures of the Studio line and Transformers toys in general. Ok I still haven't yet transformed it and for all i know that could be super annoying and make me take points off but we'll see when i have the time to do so. I'm supposed to be busy but i keep picking him up and playing about and had him beat up Starscream a bit.

Also feels nice to have the 2007 Autobot squad complete.

Sprinkled in between even more Bumblebees you mean?

I'd like Sideswipe but I would like it at least as good as Sidearms Sideswipe cos I love the design and transformation of that figure but I worry to scale that down to Studio scale will result in some heavy compromises and simplification. But eh no need to worry myself too much. That's up to the Hasbro/Takara toy designers. Whatever they come up with we can examine and scrutinise cos really we don't have much say in the design process of each toy.

Um, but Bonecrusher and Barricade?
Not saying I don't want them to move on to more obscure characters, as the obscure ones are the only ones I've bought so far (Stinger and Crowbar, and Dropkick when he shows up), but saying they got everyone from the first movie done is inaccurate. Even if you count TLK Barricade, they still have to put out Bonecrusher.
(Yes, I know Bonecrusher got leaked, but we have yet to actually see the figure, so...)

I think ZeroWolf meant bots (even though they typed 'bits') referring to my comment about how all five members of the Autobot squad have been done. Bomecrusher is certainly wanted, Barricade possibly (the Dark of the Moon toy works very well for his original form anyways).

To state clearly: it's cool that they've done all the autobots from the first movie

They've really only done a half of the decepticon cast (megs would have to be in his spaceship form to count)

Poor bonecrusher needs a toy on my shelf too. Since he got so much screen time with Optimus I’m surprised he hasn’t been teased or anything yet.

I believe he was at least rumored long long ago (in a galaxy far far away), but we will have to wait and see.

I may as well paint mine there since I think I have some glossy black paint somewhere and have been modifying my Ratchet a fair bit since I got him months ago. Even snipping the roof rack so that it folds up correctly and not drape behind him as factory figure does.

No it's there. On a new figure the whole roof rack ends up placed between his body and the inner part of the backpack with none of it on outer part of the backpack. I just snipped it so I could take the part that hangs down and have it clipped where it clips on in vehicle mode so it ends up on his backpack. It's all there, just now folds with the backpack/roof. Like how previous deluxe Ratchets did it.
Here is pic of the backpack partially unfolded so you can see.
As you can see none of it is visible between the legs anymore.

Ooh, I might have to try that with mine! I don't want to mod my Studio guys too much, but I've cut at Prime's plastic to get his side tanks to fold away better so this would be a nice, simple fix.

Is cool.

I think i got the idea from this tfw thread. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/s ... 201/page-5 They make an extra cut at the front bit of the roof rack too which I haven't done but I see why they did it but is not super-required at all. But yeah a simple mod that anyone can do (with adult supervision cos sharp blades and such) that cleans up his form a hell of a lot.

Probably, but man.. they should've done that design instead of just rereleasing the TLK one. Then again maybe I just think that because that movie's just such a recent traumatic memory in the franchise.

i agree with most, also, mirage/Dino has been kinda confirmed to be coming out by some listing a couple of weeks back, though it could be a codename, but it kinda doubtful because of it nameI'm hoping for Bonecrusher, maybe a tlk Onslaught, 2007 or dotm Megatron, , rotf Long Haul, dotm Mirage (that probably won't happen though), dotm Shockwave, or Dotm Sentinel Prime. Personally, these make the most sense to me make next for the studio series, and the ones that I'm hoping for the most, but I'm probably forgetting someone though (a Bumblebee movie Blitzwing would be pretty awesome too, it could confirm whether he's a triple changer or not, has that been confirmed?)
