I busted out ROTF Leader Prime, 2010 Leader Starscream and Battle Ops Bumblebee after some years in storage to see if they still held up and I was pleasantly surprised. If this is basically ROTF Prime but tweaked, I'd be delighted.
That said, I hope that the US release uses a warm gray or metallic gray plastic for the appropriate parts, rather than the ugly cheap gray plastic they've been using recently.

Bloody hell that's a huge improvement in the backpack area. And also the arms look vastly superior from the side too. I wanna know how this thing transforms!

Might have to pick this up...but I must resist...!!
By the time the movie's 50th anniversary rolls around, do you think we'll have a new figure that perfectly replicates the CGI...including the transformation?

Got me dwelling on whether I'll be around in 2057 or not. And if I am, will I still be buying Transformer figures? :O

And does Transfomrers have the potential to be a brand that exists for 75 years or so? And still making toys? The only other brand I can think of that never stopped is Barbie but thats only 58 years old.

Hot Wheels will be turning 50 next year, and Radio Flyer (if you consider what they make, toys) is 100 years old and still going.
Beyond that yeah who knows whether Hasbro will still be making toys 40 or 50 years from now.

And the chest is still transformed wrong! Those gray round pieces need to be tucked under the red panels!

Yes they'll still be around and toy technology will advanced so much that they could reproduce any of the movie designs 100% accurately as a toy being able to transform in all the various ways they do in the movies and that fluid too. And all controlled by your mind! :O
Are Bee and Prime the first proper movie Masterpiece figures? I mean the previous ones were just redecoes of existing figures, right? I'm just very tempted by these but am put off by the quality control issues the G1 Masterpiece figures tend to have, most recently on the new Megatron.

My biggest take away from this is how impressive the ROTF figure is. I have certain expectation for MP figures vs standard retail figures.
The thing that puzzles me the most about the MPM OP is why is the alt mode based on the his appearance in the older films and not the current truck they are using?

It's his 'classic' look? The MPM Bee is based on the 2007 movie model too.

Because its celebrating 10 years of Movies. It's not an actual TLK release, but a 10 Year anniversary thing. So it goes for the original iconic look of the character, not its most current one.
It's like MP-01 and 10 celebrating Prime's iconic G1 look, and not its then current look.

Me Yesterday: Ehh, this Prime looks, alright. Passable. Not too incredible.
Me Today: Ehh, this Prime looks, so right. Surpasses others. Absolutely incredible.
I WANNIT.
Edit: Any idea the price point of this guy? Hopefully not over 150$...
