Agreed. But the gap does make his torso seem like it's too frontwards no? That's more my issue with him. Car looks amazing though and some of those action poses are really cool.

I see what you mean - from the side, it does look that way. But I'm overall happy with how he's looking, and I'm still curious whether the backpack will necessarily rest at an angle or if you're able to adjust it.
I'm just excited to get Tracks (and Road Rage!) in hand.

Btw, on a slight deviation, Sideswipe's back pack ain't that bad because that the max you can put in on given his earth mode design. I doubt it you can squeeze the figure any further.

I did say "mostly" good though. The face is does not remind me of Tracks, which is not a good thing for a Masterpiece figure. Actually, the face is pretty poor in general, very strange expression.

I was just thinking this the other day. I remember how jazzed we were at each binaltech release, and how amazed at how awesome they looked. Now, I hardly think about them compared to the Masterpiece line. So funny how things change with time.

They still look cool, but in their own way, different from MPs.Ironhidensh wrote:Mkall wrote:I remember when Alternators/Binaltech were all that. Man how things have evolved.

Do you preffer it to Ramjet's MP face? I found that one pretty poor. Actually, thinking about it, the MP faces tend to not work out as well when the robot has a mouth.

Outside of ones like FE AoE op I'm not bothered, heck I grew up in teh age of legendary backpacks with BW. No, what bothers me is his entire collar and chest cavity is empty and garishly visible.

Seconded. The backpack design could have been done better to eliminate the gap, which is the main complaint about it. it wouldn't be as bad if the hole were sealed up

The Sideswipe and Prowl molds both have the same issue. You can see right through them. People will get to use to this once it's in hand, and people who pass may regret it later. Par the course.

Its not the backpack itself, it's the gap between it and the body.

I have no issues with backpacks, sometimes I think they look pretty cool. Especially if you can shove weapons in them.Drift082111 wrote:Cobotron wrote::lol: I'll never understand why backpacks are such a complaint. 30 years of backpacks and it's never bothered me.

I remember when I was a kiddo my Joes with backpacks were the coolest.
Anyways, I came here to share a listing for MP Tracks I stumbled upon on Amazon (while stalking and pining) for $65 shipped. If this is legit, it ships 11/02 - 11/05 . It's slightly less than what BBTS and TFSource has listed.

Its amazing these two are almost the same size in robot mode, there's a little mass shifting going on through modern engineering.

I loved the fact that they color matched the paint job of the excellent car mode Alternator Tracks. The color was another of the details they got right about this Alternator mold.

They're still amazing, especially in car mode; different, but amazing!

Truthfully, I won't see mine until Clampdown and Road Rage hit. I might (might) even wait until Ironhide comes out. Or, if they come in at different times, Tracks and Road Rage and Clampdown and Ironhide.
Shipping and all that.

I just usually like to ship all my pre-orders in a month at once, unless I need to review something. With Tracks it's going to be tough but I gotta be strong.

Tracks is a dainty little chap, I must say.
His transformation is even a delicate dance of tiny moving parts. The chest and shoulder transformations are like nothing I've seen, and the way it all pegs together is amazing. Pulling apart the front end of the car to split the legs was terrifying. Like Datsun Bros hood-to-chest scary.
He's really light though. He doesn't feel as solid as the previous cars. They used some lighter plastics. He feels like he weighs as much as Bumble Bee. Mine also has wiggly knees, but it's not really effecting his pose-ability, or stability.

Over all he looks cool and has nice articulation. He's fun to transform. He holds good poses, makes a solid action figure, and looks great next to everybody else.
That's a good TF in my book.

Tracks should feel lighter since the real life Stingray was made of like cardboard and gaffers tape. That might be a bit of an exaggeration but you see my point. It was made to go fast so it needs a lighter frame. A simple fender bender makes it look like it was in a crash with a truck.

Ya, but not the toy. The older MP cars set a good president, I'd hate to see them lower the bar. But again, he is a neat toy none the less.
What I find hilarious (and it shouldn't really ever be an issue 'cause, ya know) is how small the alt mode is compared to the Datsun mold. Stingrays are a little bit bigger than 80's Z cars, right?
