Very very interesting. I'm not sure about the one colour (white or purple) being overwhelmingly predominant in both modes but the mold looks really interesting. The car mode looks real nice, the attempt to get a jet-type robot mode from a car seems to have been fairly succesful (there's gonna be a few complaints over those hip-wings, but really, what do you expect?) I'd love to see the headsculpts more clearly.

I feel bad for seeker completionists though, as they're going to have to either:
* Buy two high-price figures and deal with having an incomplete set.
* Buy two high-price figures and pay for/make a fanpaint of Thundercracker.
* Wait for Thundercracker to inevitably come out, then buy three high-price figures
* Miss out on these potentially cool-looking figures.

Needless to say, I'll be doing my best to pick up one or both of these figures on the day of release.

Alright, now Starscream really impresses me. It's amazing that a robot mode like that, compresses and folds down into a car like that, and still has display model functionality, with doors and hoods included.

The first Alternity figure mold that has me on the fence. I'm just not sure I can force myself to spend that kinda dough.

For me too, the first Alternity models that really are worth contemplating.
Convoy and Megatron were OK, but alt's just didn't fit their characters and the seams were vadly placed and ugly on the alt modes. Bumble and Cliff were just terrible.
I do like Skywarp the best of these two, but as a Thundercracker fan I'm wondering how long I'd have to wait before he gets released.

I think these look very strange. Cool, but strange. They're very different from even the other Alternities. They almost don't look like Transformers. And if it wasn't for the little null rays and the head sculpts, they wouldn't really look like Seekers at all.

These. Are. Amazing. I wasn't impressed by the first three molds in the line, but between SS and SW, the power core combiners and the latest ROTF scouts, the artistry and toy technological advancements in the past couple of years are simply unbelievable.

I'm genuinely excited for these figures. I liked the first two Alternity molds because they didn't look like the same old G1 characters that I was bored to tears with. But I already know that I hold pretty contrary views to most of the folks on these boards :-(

. I also liked the Bumble mold less because I felt Takara were pandering to popular demand by ranking "G1-ness" above "awesomeness of robot mode". These molds seem to be a nice compromise between quality and G1-ness.

There's gonna be someone who complains about them being cars rather than jets though.

Wow these guys look pretty funky!. I like them. I thought they'd look a little more G1 inspired than they do but I'm actually happy they aren't in this case.

I agree that there's not enough black, but the panels behind his arms certainly seem to be wings, or at least giving the illusion of wings.

They're definitely different. I'll have to decide on whether I'm keeping my preorder once we get a clear look at their heads. The head design is not screaming (pun intended) Seekers to me. Very cool alt mode though.

Blurr, Rodimus and Goldbug were the Seekers in that storyline.

Skywarp is so mine, I already have so many of that guy compared to Screamer.

I think they did a good job mostly with the robot modes, but the head sculpt looks bad (much like Megatron did). I'm just not getting that Starscream feel from the head. Skywarp is too purple. Would have liked to see more black show up in robot mode. Starscream could use more blue and red as well.

has Hasbro officially said whether these will ever find their way over here or not?

I agree screamer could use some more red, but Skywarp has more black than I thought would be possible from a purple car, so Me likes!
How come screamers head is painted like that? Still, easily fixed...

Nice... I think I'm actually leaning Starscream here, though. I like the shade of purple, but it might be too much. A black car with purple highlights (aka traditional Skywarp) would have been teh sexx.

Hmm, I think I'm still on the fence here. From these images they don't look as good as the concept images, but there's potential. I guess I can get past the fact that they're cars, it's just going to come down to head molds and colors. Also how they fit in to my collection, since I didn't plan on getting the whole Alternity line.

I think these guys look really cool. However, if I were to just see pictures of them without their names above them, I wouldn't have guessed Starscream and Skywarp. I really don't think I have a place for them on my shelf.

I have both on pre-order, but think I should really only get one. Skywarp woulda been the hands down, slam dunk, easy choice in black, but I think I'm leaning Starscream...

I liked the car modes for convoy and megatron as they were a little more simple but yet very powerful Nissan cars... cliff and bb's car i could deal with.. but this car is kinda ugly. too streamlined and for my liking. alternity arent supposed to be supercars... just powerful muscle-y cars... Robot modes are pretty ingenious though...

Starscream's head reminds me a bit of Machine Wars Starscream.

They look pretty interesting. but I may just wait for the inevitable Thundercracker repaint.

Skywarp, looks very little like any Skywarp, except for being purple and black.

At last some new designs worthy of beeing Transformers, there are so many cues from previous seeker molds, the feet remind me of starscreams feet in aramada or energon, well one of them eras. The doors on the hips ie mp seekers. I'm not to happy withthe wedy arms and thighs, I hope the arms arent like that to help get the arm cannons in. I don't get why they have to have plane parts, just becuase they used to be planes, but it does make for a more interesting look. I haven't bought any alternity figures yet, I went all out with alt/bts only to be fobbed off with repaints then a sudden end, I was hoping for a more expanded universe with different alt molds, you know like a universe for adult collectors, I thought it was our version of energon, I know we have classics but they are the same standard as the kids toys [well they are kids toys]. I don't wanna start collecting these only to end up the same. I don't want to have shelves of transformers that all turn into cars and at leats alt/bts could be incorporated into the mp universe. Enuff complaining, they may have there flaws but at least I know that Takara can still do some thing properwhen they want to.

For some reason the pics of the car with the doors, hood, and trunk open remind me of Depth Charge or some kind of reptile.

I've never gotten into alternity before but seeing these guys has defintley gotten my attention. I love the look of SS and SW...is the alternity line hard to come by? I've seen pics of OP and Megs but the figs looked kind of puny, are they all deluxe in scale?

They're not hard to come by if you put in a pre-order now, but if you wait you may not be able to get the color you want. And they are deluxe size. They're quite nice, but they are indeed pricey.

I can't stop looking at these. They look great to me. I think they homage a certain basic look for their characters while being almost completely new as well.

Flip a coin. I was going with Skywarp just cos I love purple. Now I've seen SS in white I'm sticking to my decision.

Regardless. I'm the guy who usually likes everything. More Transformers, the better eh?

Not this time around.. I'm on the tight rope with this figure and I don't even know if it's clicking. After getting sober I just don't know if Starscream can act well as a car... it's just weird throwing that name around.. he should always be a plane. Just give us the generic blue repaint and be done with it.. because that colour on that figure will look quite nice. Just don't make it an exclusive. Or people get mad.

Basically? ::Not sure if want::

Like BB and CJ, I'm going to need to see more of them. The Alternity line is just too weird to judge at first blush.

Well, the main purpose of my collection is G1 homages, so that ain't going to happen until they stop using G1 characters altogether. :lol:

Are you not seeing the 2nd post in this thread where I enlarged the robot images... they are pretty clear LOL!

Skywarp's headsculpt is definitiely better than Starscream's. In fact, it looks like SS has a cat's face combined with a cleft lip and palate. Or maybe it's "Beast" from that "Beauty and the Beast" TV show from back in the 80s.

After having a look online at pics of the car it's almost got a manta ray feel to the front of it and the smooth lines. I wouldn't see any of the seekers picking this model though because even though it looks sleek it's only got a V6 Lexus engine under the hood.
