So...what do you call the years between 1994 and 2013? Because I'm pretty sure Transformers existed back then.

We were discussing the figures. If you go back a few pages, you will see that the post was derailed, yet again, by a few members that just cannot let anyone else have their opinion posted without trying to dissect it. I made my original post about this not being geewun and that FACT explains the lack of Slingshot and Windrider in this line. Sabre, just like always, has to run his mouth about some stupid nerdy detail about Slingshot being killed off in the comics and calling me ignorant, which is really irrelevant to my claim that this ain't geewun. Of course, that is the hallmark of fanboys who have G1 shoved up their crack. They get all bent out of shape when anyone tries to wake them up from their thirty year slumber in fantasyland. It went downhill from there, which is silly, because I do not care for arguments on blogs. It is a waste of time and proves NOTHING, save the fact that some people just like to argue for the sake of arguing.

Now, to try to salvage a decent conversation out of this post, the question that seems to be lost on this forum is the release timing. Sites are saying these combiner wars figures will be available this month. But, this is the issue. With the exception of Meijer, a regional big box store, I haven't even seen the wave with Jhaxis, Nightbeat, etc, let alone Arcee and Chromia. So, my question is this, Are the combiner wars figures going to be delayed until sometime in the first quarter of next year, OR are Arcee and Chromia getting the retail shaft?

You know G1 and G2 were never called that until the fans started the terms, right?

Funny that they are releasing the combiners mixed like Scramble City.
From what I hear, Arcee/Chromia will be released this week, our local import shop should be getting them tomorrow. Must order them online right now.

ps. fan terms won't hold up in court. It's called Combiner Wars, probably based on the 80's cartoon.

Look at the comics and toy packaging: "Generation 2" started with Hasbro (even if the symbols originated in Europe), so that particular term was official from the very beginning in the US. "Generation 1" on the other hand, can be considered a derivative of that made by fans, but it was still made official by Hasbro years later. Your "Generation 3" does not exist when Hasbro's concerned, and probably never will. Not saying you shouldn't use the term, just understand we don't consider it official.

That's my stance on the matter. Now, I would advise moving that particular subject to a new thread altogether, and keep this thread focused on Combiner Wars.

That's not correct. Hasbro created the term "Generation 2" for the rebranding of Transformers in the early 90's. It was emblazoned on the packaging for each toy, and the term "Generation 2" was also used for the tie-in media at the time, which consisted mostly reruns of the original Sunbow Cartoon with "Cybernetic Space Cube" scene transitions added and a new ugly 90's CGI opening, which even spoke the phrase "Generation 2." The term "Generation 1" was developed by fans to describe the original toys that came before, but the term became so pervasive and popular that Hasbro and Takara Tomy have officially adopted the term for the original line of Transformers and all associated media, including modern revisits of that continuity family. This can be evidence from "Generation 1" call outs on packaging for various reissues on G1 toys and the subline imprint "G1 Series" for the toys of the latter half of the Universe 2008 line that fit that motif.

As much as everyone seems to be knocking the new Optimus, I like it. I kinda wish the leader Megatron they are making would be voyager size instead to go with this Optimus.

Anyone have any guesses to what Protectobot or Combaticon from G1 will be phased out and replaced in this line?

My wagers are Groove (replace with Off Road Repaint New Character) and Blastoff (replaced with one of the Jets of Superion repaint, new character. Although I hope I am wrong about Blastoff as I really like it. I would rather see Vortex gone, but we all know Alpha Bravo is Vortex in disguise, so he is in for sure, along with Onslaught.

I surely hope not. If so, Arcee and Chromia are going to be VERY tough to get. If at all, outside of scalpers and the like. Just like with RTS Windcharger.

That is actually a good idea as I see no discussion board on the matter. And just for the record, it is isn't "my" G3 title. That title has just as much validity as G1 did when fans started using it as well. And why not? It really has no other logical designation. But, I agree that this is about combiner wars, so lets move on that subject.
