Me thinks this guy will pop up at around the last Earthrise wave like Combiner Wars Buzzsaw did.

I agree 100%. Thats why I always loved Thrilling 30 so much. There was so much character variety and diversity (Which really showed on the shelf, Too), That I never (And still haven't) got bored with it.
I've always wanted a sort of anthology series (like Marvel Legends) And I think T30 was the closest we ever got to that.
Anyway. I think Rattrap looks pretty good. It is nice that the ears don't stick out like the T30 mold in robot mode, Thats an advantage (IMO) that it has in its favor right out of the gate compared to T30.
My only concern is the scale. Now, I haven't watched Beast Wars all the way through in a couple of years, But does this scale seem kind of wonky to anyone else? Again, It might just be me, I don't know.
Also, What do you think the odds of getting a Transmutate figure are? I think that may've been my favorite BW episode.

Not for any lack of love for BW, I think BW is great, but every BW toy in this line is a potential original series character that gets snubbed. Conversely, every original series character in this line takes a spot away from what could have been more BW characters in a line dedicated to them.

If they wanted to do a Generations crossover theme, it just could have been done better IMHO.

Realistically though you can't expect Hasbro to double their toy output overnight, so they would either have to drop G1 production entirely and replace it with Beast Wars (which isn't going to happen when G1 sells the most) or keep producing G1 and nothing else (which they now seem to understand annoys fans of those series).

Except it would have to be all or nothing for the wave 1 core class since that class doesn't exist on shelves right now. Buzzsaw was Legends which carried over from CW to TR, so he could be released under CW ahead of TR without screwing up the size classes. The same setup doesn't exist here, I don't see them jamming Rattrap into micromaster packaging.

Same price point, different Class name. It's all about price points, Kev! ;)

Edit: Sorry, I miss read your post a little. I see what you are saying specifically about Buzzsaw.

It looks decent enough, I'd say I like the robot mode more than the rat mode, if only because the panel lines going across the rat's body stand out a lot more than on either the Thrilling 30 version or even the original Beast Wars figure. I wasn't expecting Masterpiece quality, and I'll still definitely by it.

Literally everything in Siege and Earthrise have been exactly that, too.

It IS a new mold.

The price point probably hampers what they can do regarding the shell.

Was not expecting to see this something like this show up already.

For a $10 figure, this looks...great, actually. He's equally as poseable as the T30 in bot mode if not slightly more so, and with a less shelformery/actually fun looking transformation compared to the T30. Since my T30's broken on top of that, I miiight replace him with this, not sure yet. I would definitely buy a Packrat or non-TM Labrat of this though, and it makes me VERY excited to see what the rest of the BW cast look like in the future.

For me personally, after the sub-par T30 figures (personal opinion, calm the fuck down and save yourself the hassle of trying to tell me I'm "wrong"), I was wary of "modern" BW figures, considering the originals still hold up really well.

But if this is an indication of what's coming, then my interest has been piqued. Not sure where they'll fit in my collection, or even if I'll get them, but hopefully for those that grew up on BW, these end up being the modern updates those fans deserve.

His flesh colored robot mode feet creep me out.

I understand why it's the case since it's the Rat mode feet as well but still, just looks so odd in Robot mode.

It's weird how both updated figures use the rat feet as robot feet, given this was not the case in the show. I guess it just makes the transformation easier to engineer. I'm liking the figure though, and it's a bit funny that's it's essentially part of the return of the scout class, just like his original figure (the size class was called "basic" back then).

Seeing how some of the Netflix Earthrise dudes are remolds, I'm still holding onto the hope of seeing Terrorsaur, Tarantulas and BW Inferno in the Netflix Kingdom line, as remolds of Airazor, Blackarachnia and Waspinator, respectively.

Also, I'm guessing/hoping we'll see G1 Hauler, BW Buzzsaw and BW Grimlock in the Selects range. Maybe BW Sandstorm?

Is it safe to say Thy Kingdom Come?!!?

It's a shame they couldn't figure out weapon storage in Rat mode.

Or there could actually be one, but tonton didn't figure out, as he gets no instructions.

What?! But then how does he know how it transforms?

He fiddles with it? It works for me just fine as I don't normally use instructions ever >:oP
