This Bumblebee represents how he was in the second live action film (when his vehicle mode was now the 2008 production Camaro instead of the prototype Camaro that was the basis for his alt in the 07 film). It is a retool of the previously released Dark of the Moon Deluxe Class Bumblebee. This figure comes with a non-poseable figure of Sam Witwicky running. This possibly represents the character running to revive Optimus with the Matrix as seen in the finale of the film.

So are you blaming the leakers for ruining it or Hasbro for dragging their feet?Quantum Surge wrote:Once again, we're getting leaks of the toys before Hasbro properly announces them. That Pulse event from last time would have been PERFECT to reveal this Bee and the other live-action guys. That being said, this year's Bumblebee looked better than the upcoming one.

Blaming Hasbro for being slow. I get that the pandemic affected the way they reveal toys, and it made them at least be a little slow with the reveals or distributions, but it's kind of mindblowing how long they take to reveal these toys after physical copies of them leak to whoever gives them to PvP and TonTon in the online alleyway.

SS 86 Jazz is literally a mini MP, as expected.
Now if only the REAL MP could become reality.

But man, that deco is bad. Why is the paint on the front of the car so... unfinished? Couldn't they have just picked either around the grill or along the bumper to fully paint, instead of half-painting both? And why is the grey plastic so light??? I legit thought this was a test run or a prototype before I realized it is the actual figure. The retooled parts look great, but the deco just makes both modes an eyesore. Maybe it'll grow on me, but right now it's pretty disappointing.

One way to check is to look for any car licensing on the packaging. If there is, we may see an MP Meister yet.

Spoilers.... There is none. SS86 Jazz unfortunately is not a licensed Porsche, as much as it looks like one.

But does it have to be licensed though?
Just a few mods to the vehicle like for the SS figure and they are in the clear.

Would be the first MP car outside of Hot Rod to not be licensed if that were the case.
Not impossible, but kind of strange for a line priding themselves in Vehicle and robot mode cartoon accuracy that has in fact licensed every other real world car.

Considering the original toys were exact replicas of vehicles (albeit unlicensed due to lack of proper legislation at the time), called out as such, and animation models were made based on them, it's not strange at all. The Mini-Bots were Super-Deformed, yes, but the original Microman toys called out the exact models of 3 to 4 of them.

What I mean is it would be strange for Takara to not license the Porsche alt mode for the MP line if they ever get around to making Meister.
The point being Takara has licensed the vehicle mode of every other real world car in the MP line so far, so would be strange for them to not actually want to license the Porsche alt mode for Meister.
The fact the SS86 Jazz is unlicensed is not terribly surprising.

They could reveal them both by having Dino ride Slag in triceratops mode.

On the flip side, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are pretty fun and while of course CJ being a retool of Bee is a tale as old as CHUG, the extent of this retool is absolutely incredible.
Blitzwing is okay but he looked a lot cooler before I got him out of the box. His chest doesn't hold together well and the back of the jet just looks like they gave up. Fortunately I can't tell a Harrier from a Blackbird so the apparent alt mode inaccuracy doesn't bother me.

Ah, okay. Asking because my Target Overload's still backordered and I had to approve another delay yesterday so I was starting to wonder if "backordered" meant "C'mon dude, we messed up the price of this guy, please just cancel, we're not ordering anymore"

I have a friend on Twitter who is dealing with the same thing. Mine was backordered to next week, but got shipped out this past Sunday, so it got knocked ahead a bit

Local availability won't matter for Emerje and a few others who pre-ordered them back in February during the BOGO 50% sale Target had. Finding him in stores isn't the problem, finding him at the $22.50 sale price is the problem.
Mine got cancelled on me from the same sale so I went the Amazon route.

Yep, exactly this. My local Walmarts are full of them, but the price I'll be getting from Target greatly out weighs my patience.

Not typically for ones that aren't currently in effect. The sale was from Feb/March right when wave 2 and 3 pre-orders went up. I lost the discount on a couple of mine when Target made me re-confirm my payment info (and cancelled instead and went with Amazon).
If you could find one in stores and convince someone at the service desk to let you purchase it at the same price based on your delayed pre-order, possibly, but no guarantees.

See I thought if you showed them the preorder on their own site and showed that it's still not delivered, yet the figure is physically right there on the shelf, they should sell it to you for the preorder price, provided that you cancel the preorder immediately upon purchase. But I guess legally they can't force you to do that.TF-fan kev777 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:B&M stores won't honor online sales?

Yeah, not sure on now it would work, I think someone on this site actually had some luck doing exactly that, but had to argue with 2-3 levels of managers before they relented. I think however it worked out the Target manager was able to cancel the online order and ring it up as in store at the sale price. I think in that case it might have been Doubledealer when Target had him showing as in stock online but before the store street date, and I think the BOGO sale was on top of that.

Holy crap this figure is seriously impressive!
The head/face sculpt (which makes this so much better than Blurr and Kup) is so good.
The overall figure proportions are excellent; if there is something that isn't completely accurate, it has to be minimal.
Similar to what I've mentioned about SS86 Scourge, the mold design is incredible... There are nice subtle details, and the upper legs having curved edges adds quite a bit for being something so simple.
The colors look great, although the use of some of the yellow parts is questionable...
I think those would've been a bit better if they matched the orange of other parts.
But even that doesn't really take anything away from the overall look because they're not in glaring locations.
Not really too important imo, but he does scale really well with Megatron... Really any larger, and he'd be more the size of Rodimus.
The accessories are fine... I didn't really need any of them, but in the spirit of the line's intent, it's all good.
In fact, part of the reason I don't mind the extras is because the figure itself is so solid.
I dig the visor option... The fact that it (and the welding tool option) stores away completely keeps it from being what I'd call a gimmick.
Placed side by side, the PotP version just looked really... Old.
What stood out to me the most was the molding and colors of the forearms and hands; they just looked stupid lazy (even if they were designed that way due to the transformation).
Also, the shape and a bit of the length of the torso looked off. As did the flame design on the torso.
I'd argue that my Henkei version is better than the PotP one (which is why I never bought it).
SS86 Hot Rod will be very difficult to top.
I'm feeling real confident that for this character in my collection, this new version will be the end of the road.

I have a few issues with him, but yes overall he looks great. Can’t wait to add him to the hot rod shelf.
Also that hood origami it does to hide the front of the car in his chest is impressive.

Of course there are a few things that could be better, but realistically he's pretty freaking good.
I don't even think it's the end of the world that parts of his legs (knees?) hang out a bit in the car mode... From the sides that doesn't look horrible, and anyone who chooses to display his car mode probably isn't going to try and highlight the back; even if there wasn't an issue.
Imo, I'd much prefer the alt mode have an issue than the bot mode.
I'm so anxious to see Slag, but I guess that could be a while... Even with leaks I suppose that won't happen until next year.

If anything, I'm inclined to believe that the 86 figures just aren't the first wave of SS for next year, and that the leaked Bee we just got a review of and some other stuff is coming out first that they just haven't announced yet because the 86 stuff was clearly more exciting in their eyes.

What needs to be fixed on him? The faux-parts chest. It's disgusting and there's absolutely no good reason for resorting to that. We know HasTak can do better than that - they have. They did it with Animated, they did it with TR/Legends... There's no excuse. If they were going to halfass it that much, they should have just slapped a Hot Rod head and deco on the Cybertron Hot Shot mold and saved themselves some money.

They had better fix the damn chest. In my opinion they would be better off reissuing Legends Roddy, than releasing him as-is. They would be better off not releasing an SS86 Hot Rod at all, than releasing him as-is.
Hot Rod can be done perfectly well with a real hood-chest. Can be done, has been done, it's not even that hard. Absolutely no excuses for doing it on a standalone Hot Rod. End of story.

This could have been, and should have been, the ultimate CHUG Hot Rod. After Animated Roddy and TR/Legends Roddy, we know they have it in them to nail the design perfectly with an integrated transformation.
Instead they take the unnecessary lazy half-assed cop-out route. What a sick, twisted joke.
