Greetings Seibertronians! Thanks to fellow Seibertron user, and toy reviewer, Chuckdawg1999, we now have video reviews of the recently re-released Transformers Rescue Bots toys (now under a Dinobot Adventures branding). These figures are all ones that have been seen on store shelves before but are perfect for those little fans who might have missed out on them the first time.

Let's see what Chuck has to say:

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Rescue Bots are fun Transformers with simpler transformations that are made for smaller hands. The Dinobot Adventures version of Bumblebee with his partner Lance is a fun set that will charm fans both young and old.

And:

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Now, these are squad goals I can get behind! Continuing our look at the Dinobot Adventures subline of Rescue Bots is the Dinobot Squad pack of Grimlock, Snarl, and Predaking; one of these things is definitely not like the other. All three feature simple transformations and static posing but Predaking is the stand-out with articulated dragon heads. Definitely worth a look for younger fans.

Stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

What is the biggest rescue bots toy? Anything approaching titan class?

There is that big mind-boggling Optimus plane whose wings are inexplicably car carrier trailers.

Then there'e that huge Optimus base playset where smaller bots can fit inside like carrion devouring a corpse.

Finally there's that pretty big Optimus with a sizeable trailer that can carry many "deluxes". However, the only way to get that is through Ebay.

That's the "base" Optimus. Too bad it don't transform though.

Are you referring to this one for the last one?

I'm familiar with jumbo jet. Not sure about that base... Can you point me in the direction of that one? Thanks!

Huh, just found this....I think it's the 2016 re-release of the trailer Optimus playset...thoughts?

Yet, his chest opens up to reveal a control center, his backside is full of mutli-level playset platforms, and his body is covered in 5mm ports meant to arm him with all sorts of weapon accessories from other toys.

Can someone please confirm that these two are the same figure (don't care about the extra characters)?

They appear to be the same with slightly different stickers/paint....

Same characters, but different molds. That playset with Optimus, his trailer, and his friends would make your child NUT! That's a great starting point for a young kid.

It looks like all the Optimuses with trailer you have shown are the exact same toys but in different releases. So go with the one available. ;)^

The Rescue Bots line is not something Hasbro would ever reveal outright since it doesn't concern collectors BUT we know there are completionists out there and this is indeed a great line to start off any young fan with so parents who are fans tend to want to know what product is out there. Well, we have 2 new products to share with you.

Firstly, a three pack of Bumblebees is stealth decos were found at Ross. Since it's at Ross, it means it was product destined for release a while back at another store (like Walmart or target) but that chose never to put these on shelves and instead just dump it at Ross. That would explain why it still has the older packaging. The sighting was posted here.

Image

We also have a brand new product found in Canada at Toysrus. It's a bigger version of the monster truck Optimus Prime with different deco from the original smaller mold. We put an old stock pic of that initial figure for comparison. The sighting was posted here. We also have stock images from Ripley showing this new toy.

Tow truck Optimus Prime.

Seriously, Optimus in the Rescue Bot universe never gave any foks about his altmodes.

While the new subline for Rescue Bots this year is Dinobot themed, we still have remnants of Transformers Rescue Bots Academy hitting shelves randomly worldwide. One of those is this new Optimus Prime which turns into a Monster Truck Tow truck. He is big and durable, fun for any kid aged between 2 and 4 (3 being the ideal age for this more simplistic toy) and the tow gimmick works really well. It is unclear at which stores in the US he will show up at but if you are interested, here is a review.

Walmart.ca currently has the latest big Rescue Bots toy, Dinobot Adventures Optimus Prime T-Rex, for parents who want to get a big gift this Christmas for the youngest Transformers fans. This is a redeco of a previously released toy. It's basically a 9 inch Optimus Prime that turns into a T Rex in on step and has lights and sounds.

Here is the link if you wish to purchase it: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/transforme ... 0203870015

Figure scale: 9+ inches
Ages 3 and up
The Dinobots are stomping, chomping, and roaring into action! Dinobot Adventures introduces little heroes to Grimlock and his Dinobot friends, plus favorite Autobot characters with re-imagined dinosaur alt modes!

Optimus Prime is ready to roar as a mighty T-Rex! Imagine saving the day with the Optimus Prime T-Rex figure, sized right for small hands. Kids ages 3 and up can enjoy twice the fun with 2 modes of play, converting the Optimus Prime T-Rex figure from Tyrannosaurus Rex to robot mode with the push of a button! The figure converts back to Tyrannosaurus Rex mode in 1 easy step. Press the button on the Optimus Prime T-Rex figure’s back to activate chomping action with exciting lights and sounds! Figure also features button-activated rescue drill that spins in both modes!

Also look for other Transformers Dinobot Adventures toys to assemble a team. (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)

Same at my walmarts and toysrus. Those Bumblebee and Optimus dinobots at the lower price point sell out very quickly at every restock. Hasbro is underestimating the popularity of those toys.

Ratchet was a great addition to the Rescue Bots cast in the Rescue Bots Academy spinoff so it's nice to see a new toy for him getting released for young kids. While his mold is based on the Medix transformation he has a nice new headsculpt. We also have news of a new Heatwave toy coming from the same line. This Heatwave turns into a plane. All the images come from e-bay where these new toys can currently be purchased.

While the Rescue Bots show is over, there is still a big market for these style of toys and Hasbro wants to have a stable stream of product alongside Imaginext toys in the toddler toy aisle. So Hasbro is releasing more Rescue Bots type product under the Classic Heroes Team banner and you can see them below. The Optimus prime and Bumblebee are repacks, but the Grimlock and Optimus Primal are new. This is surprising since the previous rescue bots Optimus Primal was an Optimus Prime which turned into a T-Rex, and so we'd assumed this would be a reissue of that rather than a brand new mold. This is sure to be fun for young kids, who can play with these starting at 2 years old (despite what the recommended age states).

They're rated 3+, if 4 is too old that isn't much of an age range. ;)

That was definitely my first thought when I saw the thumbnail here. I'm sure there's a connection to the movie just like I'm sure there is with Kingdom and Beast Wars reissues coming out ahead of the movie, I don't really buy the anniversary excuse. Remember that we got the earlier G1 reissues at Walmart because Hasbro wanted to get 80s toys into stores in time for the first 80s based Bumblebee movie. Here we are again getting a bunch of Beast Wars characters into stores in time for a Beast Wars heavy movie.

Yeah, the rescue bots line has been promoting/linked to whatever media hasbro wants it to promote lately, with the Rescue Bots show over. So last year, there was a big emphasis on Dinobots in the Cyberverse toyline and media, so Rescue Bots offered similar characters for th younger age segment. And this would be the same with ROTB, where the only character in that set not in ROTB being Grimlock.

With a name like "Classic Heroes Team", I get the feeling that this is supposed to be something like the preschool equivalent of Classics/Universe/pre-CW Generations, or even just Legacy. That these are just the classic characters we all know and love instead of specifically the Aligned versions (plus a brand new Aligned Optimus Primal) that everything from Rescue Bots/Academy/Dinobot Adventures have been up to this point.

They didn't really show up at Walmart. Instead they were found at Kroger's I think. And yeah, hard to find on e-bay. I am selling two of them but I'm in Canada so shipping would be ridiculous.

We have news that new Transformers Rescue Bots Grimlock and Optimus Primal have been found at US retail. Vector Oracle found them at a Macy's in California. These are both new molds and it is the first Rescue Bots Grimlock to transform from a T-rex into a robot. This is good news as the Rescue Bots line has always been popular with very young kids and is always in demand.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

This sighting was originally posted here.
