So what's in this 'Transformers Issue':
*First of all, it's dubbed 'The Transformers Collector's Edition"
*Comparison of Optimus Prime's toy alt modes (G1 to movie)
*A live action movie article...
*A review of the new TF game...
*A smattering of some general movie merchandise that will be available, or is available (think bed sheets, etc.)
*An article about the Animated movie
*Discussion of Avengers/Transformers (due out next month)
*An article about Japanese toys that make us cry, so to speak...
*A CLASSICS visual price guide
*Pictures of SDCC exclusives including Alt Rodimus, Titanium Menasor, Star Wars McQuarrie ObiWan and Yoda, and Pimp Daddy Destro(s)...
*And finally a 'complete' Transformers price guide
You might ask yourself, why is this news? The answer is because this a great issue for all Transformers toy fans to own, and I wanted to make sure that folks were aware it was out there, and that they should pick it up!
More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

I haven't bought a Toyfare magazine in almost seven years - time to break the streak...

Meh, is the Price Guide mildly accurate?

It's ToyFare, so I doubt it. Highly.

Same. Tis too bad. A nice accurate Price Guide with prices for accesories would be so nice.

Accuracy to me did not seem real good. It seemed a bit low for prices. And of course, there was not a listing for accessories only.

Borders won't get it in for a few weeks - the comic shops always get them long before the bookstores

Actually, if you want a decent price guide and identification book that is recent try 'The Transformers Identification and Price Guide' by Mark Bellomo. It was just printed this year, seems fairly accurate, and has great pictures of accessories, etc.

The Classics section had too many mistransformed figures.
For Voyager Optimus and Magnus, they didn't rotate the torso so now the real truck grill is still under the windows.
For Jetfire, they didn't split the nosecone to make the shoulders.
For Hotrod, they didn't fold down the leg flaps.
For Bonecrusher and Scrapper, they didn't rotate the waists so now the legs are backwards.
There could be more, but these seemed to be the most obvious.

Forgot to add that there was a free sample of the 3-D card battling game sealed in plastic with the magazine.
The card mine came with was Jetfire, it looks like they all come with him... It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how well the whole thing has been, or will be recieved.

Last time I remember buying a toyfare, Armada's Unicron was on the cover.

I use to work for a Barnes&Nobles. When I did, this was around the time of Armada, I use to get in trouble for looking at it while on the clock.
So I decided to get out of there and get a real job so I could pay for all the stuff in said publication.
Sadly however, I have not picked up a copy since, and find I miss the antics of ToyFair Theater, and the BIG SHOTS.
May your press run be forever...
