While many of us collect, well, transformable Transformers, there are those who enjoy higher-end collectibles that are meant more for display than anything else, and which sacrifice the ability to transform in order to have greater articulation and poseability, as well as features that many Transformers figures don't have at any price point. For those who collect figures like that, and those who just appreciate an awesome looking figure, we have some news for you! Coming to us from 3A Collectibles is their version of Ultra Magnus, a fully-licensed version of the Autobot City Commander using the mold for their Optimus Prime figure, done up in the colors of the original Ultra Magnus' inner robot. This item is ThinkGeek's exclusive, and limited to just 500 pieces. Check out the pictures and desciption below, as well as the video showcasing just how big this figure is, and let us know what you think of the figure. Will it find a place in your collection?

MORE THAN JUST A SOLDIER
Magnus will never admit it, but he is a strong and dependable ally. He has garnered respect on both sides of the battlefield and is truly a force to be reckoned with all the while believing he is nothing but a simple soldier. That being said, he does recognize he's an above average fighter and is more than willing to throw himself at multiple enemies. He's the Autobot that can be blown up and keep on trucking. Literally. Because he's a truck.
Take home one of the Autobots' most courageous fighters, Ultra Magnus. He is fully poseable with almost 60 points of articulation and comes with LED illuminating features. He stands 16" tall and can be equipped with his trusty double-bladed axe or plasma cannon. As much of an asset as he is on the battlefield, we know he'll be appreciated on your bookshelf, as well.

It would be nice if when they redid a Prime into Magnus, they at least changed the gun to Magnus's gun.

You've said this before and it doesn't really mean anything. You know nothing about my income or how I spend my money and therefore can't really comment. As is i've been unemployed for years due to health reasons and I get by. I don't drink or go out much and so most of my limited money after groceries/bills tends to be spent on affordable figures mostly Transformers Studio Series. I coooould save up for one of these large figures but it would mean giving up many Studio Series purchases and then I'd need more of these 3A figures to go with this Megatron and so on. I don't get enough money to make collecting these things a practical thing. Point is these things ARE expensive and ideally suited to collectors who make a fair bit more money than I do.

This is a pretty darn good looking figure, and I love it
But I won't get it for a few reasons. The very first is, like others, I can't afford it, especially since I don't have any income yet. Second, I'm one of those people who prefer Transformers figures to "transform". So, a pass for me.

With 70 points of articulation, I would certainly assume so. Unless you think those 70 points are all in the upper body for some reason.

In BeastProwl's defense, Megatron's legs are in the exact same position in every single photo except like one where they're cut off. I think there are some statues out there that don't move from the waist down but have some moving parts, so it's not totally unreasonable to think the same here

I'll grant you its possible, unlikely but possible. But with 70 points of articulation, you'd honestly think none of those made it to the legs?

Oh for sure. I don't think that his legs don't move, but if someone just looked at the pictures without reading all the specifics (which I do more than I'd like to admit) I can see how they could come to tht conclusion if the legs are consistently in the same pose through all the photos.
