The pictures are below and you can instantly notice that the deco is reminiscent of the recent Combiner Hunters deco, also found below. We will keep you updated if we hear of any new development.

I've honestly never heard this before, and I've been going to BC since 2000. Hasbro may have had no interest in doing the IDW repaint, so TCC decided to do it instead. Pete did mention several of these figures "should have seen retail"

At the moment, this is based on a deco that doesn't presently exist yet.

There also the notion that it's too early for Fun Pub to use the Arcee mold. It just came out a few months ago at the end of last year, and they can't use new molds until they're at least close to a year old.MartianSpyGirl1996 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:"Should have seen retail" as in previously, not forthcoming.MartianSpyGirl1996 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Whatever this thing is, it can't be a BotCon toy since Fun Pub doesn't (can't?) do toys for future non-BotCon/non-TCC mainstream Hasbro fiction.

All decos are forthcoming until released... Hasbro still has the option of releasing a Packrat, but they probably have no interest which is why TCC is doing it. IDW could have decided to update Arcee, Hasbro didn't want to do it and made a suggestion to TCC. Hasbro is constantly making suggestions to them. Maybe FunPub wanted to use the Arcee mold but were struggling with decos getting approved.
I think you're splitting hairs and trying to rigidly follow a pattern when there's not really one there... just because they haven't done it previously doesn't mean they can't/won't do it in the future. Never say never.
That Bot wrote:I think the rule is more like "when Hasbro and Takara have no immediate plans to use the mold during the time FunPub would be using it". We've gotten less than a year turnarounds.
