Toy News International is reporting that the price of this year's SDCC Transformers/G.I. Joe Crossover set has been revealed through a Q&A session with Hasbro's G.I. Joe brand team. The set will be priced at $49.99 and will most likely be available on HTS on the Monday following the convention.

TNI: How much will the San Diego Comic Con exclusive Transformers/G.I. Joe Skystriker with Cobra Commander figure cost and will it also be sold online after the convention on HasbroToyShop.com?

Hasbro: The Sky Striker will be sold at $49.99. Most of our SDCC exclusives will be available on HTS the Monday after the close of the convention. However, there will be limited quantities so act fast!

The set will consist of a G.I. Joe Sky Striker in Starscream deco, Cobra Commander figure, and Megatron pistol accessory.

Its cool, but not cool enough to buy. Starscream was not an F-14 Tomcat. He was an F-15 Eagle.

Dude, this is not G1 Starscream of the cartoon (or any fiction in which he bore his G1 F-15 Eagle body). This is G1 Starscream of a crossover story in which he became an F-14 Tomcat.

I can understand not wanting to buy this (I myself don't want it either). But not wanting it for that specific reason is borderline Geewunner/Geewhiner territory. :-|

Oh man. I may have to stand in line at Comic-Con for this set.

I don't understand all the hate this toy has been getting. It's a G.I. Joe toy homaging transformers, not the other way around.

Now, with regards to the non-transforming aspect, I would like to bring up the ff: RPMs, Revoltechs, Robot Heroes, Mighty Muggs and the countless other statues and busts out there.

I was under the impression that this was just a homage made for a G.I. Joe convention. Do they really need a silly comic book story to justify the toys existance ???

I got Sky-Striker already. Dont need another one.

Err, maybe I should have clarified. It's a hypothetical interpretation of Screamer if he had become this form in a crossover story. I'm not certain if there's an actual comic or not.

There's just something about Starscream's nose-cone... maybe it's just the angle, but I think it looks a tad dispraportionate. Anyway, it's nothing too bad to keep me from wanting this. Plus that's a pretty cool Cobra Commander toy!

I don't $50 need it. Thirty-five is reasonable here. Anything more and you're being ripped off. The vehicle and character toys are already tooled and ready to go, the only thing new here is the Megatron gun. How the development of that mold splits into fifteen more dollars for each package is beyond me. It's cool and I'd like to have it but I already overspend on one obsession. I'm still weening off of my others.

These would be so much better if the vehicles actually transformed. Instead they are just repaints of GI Joe vehicles.

Wow. This'd be great if I had ANY interest at ALL in G.I.Joe toys. Another big "Fuck you" again to TF fans, huh, Hasbro?

Make it transform, and I'll bite, but it doesnt, and it won't, so I'm not buying, simple enough.

CaSSeTteBOTs45 wrote:Cobra Commander with Megatron... maybe, but I'm not too thrilled with the starscream redeco.... then again, why don't I just get an original cobra commander and stand him beside G2 megs... that would make a lot more sense. :-?

:CON:

Starscream and CC makes perfect sense if you keep in mind that they were both voiced by Chris Latta in the cartoon.

Easy pass. I was hoping for something that would Transform this year, but I can understand the need to save money and try to please both groups of fans at once.

More money towards that Black Prime and Megatron then

Sorry to be late to the party...

So there's no actual "Transformers" exclusives for this year's SDCC?
