There they go again raising the price so that only the rich can own them. Sucks to be financially challenged. Specially at blu ray disc price to own low quality standard definition dvds. By now the whole darn series from G1 till now should have been done in HD Blu ray. With the series that was not not aired in America could be re-voiced over with the original cast cause most of them is still alive. Hasbro and Takara has Trillions of dollars in profits now so there is absolutely no excuse for them to start giving to there fans what we want instead of thinking profits.

It's more than likely that we'll just be getting the old Omni Productions dub on these DVDs.
Still, while I wouldn't mind a new dub of The Headmasters, I kinda don't want one of Masterforce. It's characters are simply too different from their American counterparts to be given just their names (e.g. - Ginrai is NOT Optimus Prime). Unless they were to given them all completely new names or keep all the original names, I wouldn't really want a new dub of Masterforce. The original Japanese version is glorious enough as it is.

Except that they said that getting all the original voice cast would be too expensive. Hasbro isn't the one making these DVD sets, Shout! Factory is. $30 seems a little steep considering G1 was only $20. However, I imagine there'll be a $20-$25 first week sale, or the stores'll never price it that high.

$30 for season 1 sounds like a very reasonable price to me. Did everyone forget that when Beast Wars season 1 originally sold for about $45? This will be a great deal, especially if they include more special features then the original box set.
BW season 2 and 3 were each about $25 when they were originally released. That was $100 for the whole show back then, and another $50 or so if you wanted Beast Machines too.
I'm still going to buy the new sets. Like I said before, the new DVDs will be good spares.

Nice. I hope they make a box set with all the seasons and beast machines together. Cant wait to re-live some of my childhood.

Oh, I forgot Beast Wars Season 1 was 26 episodes
. So $30 for the set is pretty good, and the subsequent seasons will probably be $20.
Of course, I am curious what kind of special features there will be.
